Simple Green Review and Giveaway
Boo is one of the best parts of my life. She is
one of the most loving dogs there ever was and has
been my loyal little friend for over 4 years now. As
much as I love her it doesn't change the fact if I do
not rush to let her out she has an accident* on my carpet.
Okay, I will even go so far as to admit there have been
times when she was angry at being left at home that she
has done it on purpose. Oh, and when she knocks things
over and they stain, um, or drags the garbage all over the
house, and there is nothing like meat drippings and grease
from bones she has found God knows where and buried
under the couch to they stank so bad I thought a heard of
Buffalo has moved in and died. Alright, you got me, Boo makes
a huge mess where ever she goes!
The worst part is the smell from the gifts** she
leaves, it doesn't ever go away. So far. I have
scrubbed and used the stupid carpet cleaner and
used one too many stupid products Petco said I
needed at 30 bucks a pop to get out the smell.
Some mail order, some I just happened to see
and one thing that cost 70 bucks a bottle that
for sure was supposed to work and DIDN'T!
What makes it even worse is those hot humid days
in the summer. It does not matter if the smell has been
gone for months, as soon as one of those sticky days
comes around the smell starts to seep back into
the air. I really need to find a product that works
and need to find it fast. I have a boat load a Holiday
guests and they are coming soon!
I had been talking to a really nice person at Simple Green
and have plans to do a review of their cleaning products
after the first of the year. We got to talking about pets and
I told her about my 12 pound poop and tinkle machine and
she laughed and said "We have something that will take care
of that!" I rolled my eyes and thought, "yeah, sure ya do!"
But said I would give it a try. What could it hurt? I have tried
everything else. When it came it was a spray bottle and said
you could use it just as that too, a spray! Hummm, where is
the foam I have to scrub in and let soak 42 days and then scrub
again and by the time I am done my knees are so sore there
isn't a chance in Hades I will ever get that low to the ground
again so I couldn't even tell you if it worked or not? This could be
sprayed right on or you can add it to your carpet cleaner.
Okay, I was a little excited that it was easy to use. But I wasn't going
to do a jig just yet for maybe it is simple to use because it just
doesn't work. I didn't have anything to lose though, it was
kinda stinky in the house from running the humidifier so
much and I have a whole house full of people coming so
I gave it a shot.
2 days before my dinner- I applied the Simple Green as
directed. Though I had little hope it would work I was happy as
a clam I didn't have to scrub it to death for these directions said
scrub gently and the fact I just sprayed and spent 30 seconds
scrubbing made me do a jig for I was super busy in the kitchen.
It said to let dry and I was happy to oblige.
1 day 2 hours left before my dinner. - I went to the six separate
areas I had sprayed for step two. 4 of those locations were stains
that had been there for over a year, one more for 6 months
and one Boo added to the collection shortly after Rowan came
home and she was jealous. The directions said those stains that
are older may need repeat applications but as old as some of these
were I held onto little hope they would ever come out. The directions
do not say if you should wash it out or not so I took the easy road and
just started my Roomba so I could keep cooking and figured I would
go see how it worked in an hour or so.
1 day 15 minutes to dinner-Out of the 6 stains I could no longer
find 4 of them. Of the two left one was super light and almost
gone and the other looked much better though it was the oldest
and darkest stain being Boo's favorite spot to go before she was
potty trained. She must have hit it a few dozen times in the first
couple of months we had her.Now mind you, I have tried to remove
all but the most recent stain and the one about 6 months old
at least a dozen times in the last 4 years and with no less then
5 different products and when finished all I had was a stain in
the middle of wet carpeting. Now 4 are completely gone and look
so good I almost burst into tears when I realized how dirty the
rest of my carpet was. One of the remaining 2
is almost gone and if it wasn't for the fact I obsessed over it
so often and knew right where it was I would not have been able
to find it for it also looked better then the surrounding carpeting.
The last one was light years better then it was but I could still see
it. The bottle said to repeat on older stains and I thought what the
hey, I got a day and applied it again.
14 hours to dinner- I turned on trusty little Roomba again and
headed to bed.
9 hours to dinner- I drug my tired butt down stairs completely
oblivious to my experiment for as tired as I was and how much
I still had left to do I forgot all about it. Roomba goes home when
done so that wasn't a clue for me and it was about 3 hours later
when I remembered and ran to check. Stain 5 GONE, really I mean
it, GONE! I almost dropped dead and was chicken to go
and check on the other stain for I was pretty close to euphoria and
didn't want to spoil it. I sat on the floor by the absent stain 5
and tried to get a glimpse of it but the stupid tree was in the
way. I screamed for Andy to come up from the Dungeon
( told you I was chicken) and he looked at me like I was nuts
when I asked him to go check the stain.
I should end this here like a soap opera and tell you tomorrow
how it worked but since you guys have been so patient with
me the last week I can't do that to you............so..........
Dum
Dum
DUM
Okay, wait is over, the stain was still there but so light
I could hardly make it out. Just like number 5 was before
this application if I hadn't known where it was I would not have
been able to see it. By this time I was a believer in Simple
Green Dog Stain and Oder Remover that I knew if I used it
one more time I would have a dirty carpet without stains
instead of the dirty carpet with 6 really ugly obvious stains
I had before this Wonder Spray came in the mail! I swear
to the Lord above I was in total shock it worked and worked well
for after all the money I sunk into stain cleaners over the last few
years and all the times I had drug that dang carpet cleaner up
from the basement only to waste an afternoon on a carpet I
was sure was doomed I had finally found something that
worked. I was so happy in fact I ran and got the other bottle
to make sure I gave it to my Mother for she has a dog and two
cats and could use it just as much as I needed it. I am half
tempted to put this Bottle in my china cabinet with all the other
mementos I have from my life that really mean something to
me. I also wanted to call all my guests and cancel for I was
too excited to cook and all I could think is if I did it one more time
it would be gone like stain number 5. I also wondered if it would
make the rest of my carpet look as good as the parts where the
stain was!
Simple Green is now my hero and I can't yet vouch for the
smell being gone for living in Michigan it will be a while before I
am faced with a Hot humid day but I can tell you I have had an
oven on for almost 3 straight days and had to crack windows for
it was so warm and could not smell a thing. The spray itself has
a pleasant scent that I can't put my finger on but it I enjoyed it
and it does not smell the least bit institutional or over powering.
I walked Boo around where the stains used to be and had a long
talk with her about repeating her sins and I am hoping she
understood but if she didn't I'm not going to sweat it for I now
have the answer I was looking for!
All through the days festivities I was grinning from ear to
ear for I was the only one who knew what the carpet looked
like only 48 hours before! I will tell you what, Simple Green
gave me the best gift this year! Finally my carpet is stain
free, well, was, about half way through dinner Andy spilled a huge
glass of something Purple. I wonder if....................hummmmm,
I will let you know!

If we have need to verify the health and safety features of a product, we choose non-animal test methods."
