Wild Cubs Review and Giveaway!

Sometimes when you are not looking for anything
at all you stumble across the best treasures. That
is what happened to me not all the long ago. I love
Etsy and the shops there. I have told you guys many
times about my Grandmothers thing for Craft Shows and
how she would take me to them. Well I was still pretty
young when I became hooked on them myself and by the
time I was in my Mid-Teens I knew just as much about
them as she did and still can't resists going when I
see one. Craft shows are like re-occurring events and
the good ones turn up year after year at the same site
and develop these huge followings. We used to set our
calenders by a couple of them.
"Hey, Evelyn, would you and your Granddaughter like
to come on down for the weekend?"
No Dorthy, I am so sorry, the Pink Hippo is that weekend!"
Now to other people we might have seen a little nuts for
we passed up some pretty nice offers of trips and vacations
for they conflicted with some of our crafts shows but it
became like a family tradition to hit some of them every
year and going to those shows is one of the things I miss
most about spending the Summers with my Grandmother. Etsy
has served me well to help fill that void a little and had she
been alive I know without a shadow of a doubt she would love
Etsy just as much as I do. I also know it would have made
her last few years where she couldn't;t get out of bed much
more enjoyable for she could have live vicariously through
the shops there.
Now I often stroll through the shops when i get a chance
for it never ceases to amaze me some of the skills people have.
You can find some remarkable items and one of a kind pieces as
well as products I never knew you would be able to make at home.
I have been blown away more then once and have brought you a few
different stores from there but this next one sort of took me for
a loop for I didn't realize if you had some talent you could make
shoes at home. Looking back I feel silly for why wouldn't you be
able to? Shoe stores don't just pop up at malls completely developed
and big places like Reebok or Manolo Blahnik have to have gotten their
start somewhere and unless they have some rich friends who were willing
to take a chance and open a factory for them most likely that start
was in their own homes. But shoes? Wow, that is not like knitting
a scarf, shoes take some real work.
When I came across Wild Cubs on Etsy I was really, really impressed.
They reminded me of Robeez in their construction but only better.
When I say that, it is for two reasons, these are hand made and there for
a lot more attention to detail is paid. Each shoe gets that special touch
and love of their craft poured into its making. It shows in the end product
for the pair we received for review were put together so well even my dog
could not tear it apart and it just about broke my heart when she ran off
with it. It took all three of us almost two hours to get it back from her
and we had to pry it out of her mouth. No holes, no loose stitching and
not one sign of the trauma I know she had to have put that shoe through.
Now that speaks volumes to me for Boo is known to trash everything and has
gotten tearing her own toys up down to a science:
1. Toy comes home
2. You attempt to bring toy out of the bag and see a blur whiz by
3. You realize toy has been snatched already but stubby little dog
4. You go to play with toy and stubby little dog and grab one end
only to have it come off in your hands for she has already chewed
large holes in the toy in the 2 minutes it took you to locate her
after grab from bag.
When she grabbed my review shoes my heart sank for these are just the
right size for a Boo toy and I can understand her thinking it is for
her and as of late I have been having that problem with a lot of Rowans
things but she grabbed it right out of my hands before I even got to
look at the shoes and I was crying like a little school girl thinking
that was surely the end of them. But NO, they are put together so well
that not only were they still completely whole there was no damage at
all. I gave Boo the big long lecture on the shoe and she has not touched
them again since but when they are not on Rowans feet I am taking no
chances and putting them in her dresser drawer. Crazy Dog! Now she
did get her paws on a pair of Robeez and that is why I can firmly
say the shoes from Wild Cubs are better for her little pointy teeth went
through the Robeez like a hot knife through butter. She is lucky I had
bought them at a Garage sale and only paid a couple of bucks for if
these were right from Robeez and I paid the whopping price they ask
I would have duct Tapped her little mouth shut to Rowan was out of
the house, married and buying shoes for her own kids. I do almost feel
bad for the Pooch though for so many of Rowans things look like things
we have bought for her and she just doesn't get the attention she used
to. I am also happy Wild Cubs are made so great and stood up to the
little Puppy. Not only was the Leather thick enough to be durable it
was worked enough so it was soft and ply-able and moved with Rowans
feet. I spent a little time working with Leather when I was younger and
I know that she spends a lot of time getting it to be that soft and
flexible and still so durable. The second reason I think they are better
then Robeez is the price. Robeez are not a cheap shoe. I understand
they are leather and supposed to last and truth be told if the Robeez
I had bought did not meet up with the Pooch first I am sure they would
have lasted a long time but to buy a pair you are looking at 30 bucks
on up and that is if you can get them on sale. The Shoes from Wild
Cubs are 13.99!
WOW
WOW
WOW
Leather shoes, superb quality and design, tons of adorable styles. Able
to stand up to the Pooch and the Baby and fit like a dream all for
under 14 bucks.
Pinch me I am dreaming!
I received the Pink and Purple Pair with Guitars on them for
Review and they are just adorable. You guys know John is in a band
and Rowan is already a dancing fool so they just fit her personality
and when I was looking through their selection I realized a lot of them
would. They have my Skulls and you know I am going to get those
but also so many other styles for boys and girls and such lively items
too. Bright vivid colors that stand out and even boots to keep your little
one snug and warm in the winter. Such a great selection and such a
wonderful shoe it is only a matter of time before you find these everywhere
for when you make a product this good the word is sure to spread and
I am glad to be here at the start of the craze and even more glad that
I just happened to be killing some time on Etsy that day and came
across them. I just had to share with you!
The owner at Wild Cubs was a dream to work with and she is
offering to give one of my readers are pair of her shoes as well! To

Blush Topless Undershirt Review and Giveaway!

Skinny Jeans? I just don't get them. I swear
they just don't fit right on me and the really hard
part is no matter where I shop they are the only
thing I can find anymore. At least I think they are
called Skinny Jeans. I am so lost when it comes
to Jeans at all anymore. What happened to plain
old 501's or run of the mill Blue Jeans? I have found
it completely imposable to just walk into a store and
find anything that comes over my hips. I understand
fashion. It is always moving and changing and people
need to keep up. When I say that I mean retailers not
the buyers for buyers should wear what they are comfortable
in and that is my problem right now. I am not comfortable
in these Jeans that have been out the last few years.
I feel like the dang things are always going to fall off and
I don't know who thinks they look good for the fact you have
to pull them up every ten minutes takes away any visual
appeal they have in my book. Whatever and to each his own
and if these are the next best thing since sliced bread so be
it I can live with that. At least I can live with that when it is
other people that are wearing them. What I can't live with, is unlike
other trends these low rise jeans are all you are able to find anymore.
Now that is just stupid!
I get it! They are hot! You win! But please, leave some normal
clothes on the racks for the rest of us. This is ridiculous. My
choices are dark Denim in Low Rise or light Denim in Low rise.
?????

Who makes theses rule? Get them on the phone now! When I
was a teen CK and Gloria Vanderbilt were it. Every girl I knew
wanted a pair or 30. They were everywhere. What they didn't do
though was take my Grandmothers Polyester pants or my Mothers
Elastic waist Jeans and replace them with CK or Gloria's version.
You could still find other clothes out there. With this stupid low
versions you cant. They have taken every kind of pant in the world
and lopped off the top 6 inches and told us that is what we must
wear now. Um, sorry, I don't think my Grandmother would have looked
good with her Granny Panties Hanging out and I sure know I don't.
You need a perfect body to wear those things and lets face it, most
of the women in this country do not have that body. That's why I
want to know what rocket scientists came up with this trend. Let's
take the fattest country in the world and remove the part of their pants
that covers up their love handles and Belly's and Booty cracks! Yeah,
that is appealing. What are they trying to shame us into eating better?
Come on now, we should be finding ways to get more clothes on some
of these people not less! Good thing my next review agrees with me
and thank God in Heaven I found them for I was getting ready to
sew my own clothes and that is a truly scary thought!

The ladies over at Blush had a problem with clothes
fitting as well. Not always my problem but with lack of material
in general. The shirts were never long enough or the pants
high enough. It doesn't matter what way we are going, up or
down, the fact remains is we are loosing material out there.
Those fashion people are just determined to have us show our
bellies if we want to or not. Now you guys don't want to see
my belly, small children have gotten lost in my belly. With both
of my Children I gained and lost over 100 pounds in a years time
so any elasticity I had went out the door with the baby bath water.
I am surprised when I wear a swim suit a small van of clowns
doesn't pull up and cover me with their Circus Tent just to spare
the rest of the world the vision. I know I am not alone for I have
seen with my own two eyes many women less modest then I
who have no problem letting it all hang out. I just wouldn't and
excuse the pun, be able to stomach that. I need every inch
under wraps so to speak. Blush came up with a way to do just
that. Their Topless Undershirt is the perfect solution to those
low jeans I hate and those shirts that don't come down as far
as I need either. Think of it as a Tube Top you wear around the
middle. It is thin and perfect for use with a T-shirt or other
items where you do not want to wear two shirts but still need
the extra coverage. The Blush Topless Undershirt also gives you
the look of layering without the added bulk. Even Pregnant women
can benefit from the shirt and it allows them to wear some of
their favorite clothes longer by providing coverage on those growing
bellies. These ladies are my new best friends for they took my
pet peeve and made it go bye bye in a great no fuss way.
I can still wear my form fitting clothes because the undershirt
it so light weight you never even know you have it on. Best of
all it stays where you put it and doesn't travel. I don't have to
worry about it slipping or re-adjusting and I spend much more time
pulling my pants up then ever worrying where my Undershirt is!
I know where that puppy is, just where I left it!
The Blush Topless Undershirt passed the Michelle
test with flying colors and no matter how much I yanked, pulled,
poked and over washed it did not lose its shape and kept
bouncing back for more. Now you guys should know by now
when I test a clothing item I wash it at least 4 dozen times
for I want to be able to tell you guys an item is going to last
and mean it. I washed this in every load for 2 weeks now and
it still has the same bounce back and fits just as snug and the
color has not faded at all. That is really saying something about
the quality. The also have a lot of color selections and even some
pretty cool patterns, so you are bound to find one that fits your
style. I love the simple brown one I got and can't wait to
get a lacy one for my dressy clothes for those never fit my
right either and I am tired of seeing some of my favorite styles
sitting in the closet unused and now I can drag them out, dust
them off and kick up my heels again! No matter what your style
or issue, Blush has you covered!
Blush has my readers covered too and have offered to give one
lucky reader a shirt of their own. To enter just head over to their

awesome you have learned in a comment. The contest will start

Alex and Ani Review and Giveaway!

Are you guys ready for Valentines Day? It
is just over a week away and the clock is tic-ken.
I thought I was starting to hit the bottom of the
barrel when it came to posting gift ideas for
you guys. I have passed on so many as of late
for I determined to bring you guys some original,
quality, entertaining or beautiful to behold items that
will either make the recipient of your gift squeal in
delight or just plain take their breath away. I was
almost ready to start working on an Easter Guide
for you guys then I came across a Jewelry store I
felt I just had to share. Now I feel pretty confidant
at this point that I know jewelry. From out of this
world in price and design to affordable and simple
I think I have covered it all. Once in a while I
locate a store that covers it all in one little kit
and Caboodle. When that stop you dead in your
tracks perfect Jewelry store also happens to have
a heart and dedicates large amounts of time to
helping Charitable organizations through creating
a unique design that embodies the message and
reflects the beauty of each charity I felt it was
my duty to share too! Pull the Bus over, I am getting
off and don't come back to tomorrow. I might
get so carried away I will have to borrow some
of Andrews friends to help me unload! This place
is a jackpot of knock your socks off pieces!

Alex and Ani has pages and pages of
stunning and one of a kind pieces that as if that
wasn't enough they also allow you to design your own.
I got a bruise on my chin from my jaw hitting the
ground when I saw everything their inventory, Yummy!
I contacted them and let them know I was quiet sure
that lightening would strike me dead if I did not put them
on my Valentines Day gift guide and they sent an item
for review and I think they did it for fear of drowning
in the puddle of drool flowing from me to their store!
I received a bracelet that is unlike any I have seen before.
It is totally fashionable and you can wear it everyday,
around the house, heck, this would look stunning to wear
to the beach even or dress it up and take it out on the
town. Sometimes a perfect piece of Jewelry makes a
better date them some of the nut balls on the dating
market. It also makes "The Perfect" Valentines
Day gift for the bracelet is all about love! The Love
Bangle is what I received and it comes in two styles, the
Russian Silver and the Russian Gold and both are stunning.
I loved the simplicity of it and the message it delivered.
For their bracelets it is such a hard choice though for
the have over 5 pages of single charm bracelets alone.
Add in every other variety and the results are staggering.
That is also just one category of the Jewelry selection.
The also have the Charity by Design selection where you
can pick out a piece and watch up to 100% of the profets
be given to that charity. In fact right now the have a
Cornelian Bangle Bracelet where all the profits go to help
those in Haiti.

They carry everything you could ever want
for your jewelry needs and I had a field day strolling through
the selection of new arrivals and best sellers and found a
really stylish and sheek Disco Inferno Expandable Bangel set to
add to my wish list. The Hoop earings are another one of
my favorites and the Cavier Endless Hoops are so right up
my alley followed by the Mother of Pearls for you all know
how I feel about Pearls right now. The Bangle Bar has got
to be the coolest thing I have ever seen. What it does is you
go to that area and there is a rod, 3 D like, and on the side are
alll the catagorys of single bracelets they have for you to look
at and choose for your own stackable design. Your options are
beads that are metal or glass or just a plain bracelet and then
charms from here to tomorrow in all differant designs. You pick
out exactaly what you want and they bring it to life. Normally I
don't like getting gift certificates from John for a present because
it makes me feel like the only reason he bought one was he
wasn't paying attention to the hints I dropped and he just didn't
want to put the effort into finding the right gift. I am weird like that,
I don't care if he buys me something that costs 39 cents as long as
it is something he put thought into and looked for but if he were
to give me one for here and explain he thought I might like to
design my own I would so forgive him! This has got to be the
coolest idea ever!

Alex and Ani is a celeberty favorite too and even
the Great Oprah herself has them in her Magazine and I grew
tired of counting the number of other publications they have
been in for somewhere after the 3rd page it became more then
clear that the list would go on forever. When you make something
with pride and the quality shows and you still find time to give
back to the comunity, you can't help but to end up a huge
sucess and Alex and Ani truly are. So if you are looking for
a simple bangle for your daughter or a whole set for your wife.
Want to start your own collection and pair it with some delishious
earings, these guys have you covered. You may onnly have a little
over a week left but there is still time and many other reasons
to buy your loved one something from here, even if it is
"Just Because!"

Alex and Ani wanted to take care of my
readers as well and are not only offering them a code
for 10% off their total purchace at checkout they would
like to let one of you win the Love Expandable Wire
Bangle Set of 5 in thier choice of either the Russion
GOld or Russion Silver. To enter just head over to
their site and take a look around then come back here
and post what item you liked the best in a comment.

March 28th

Bibs for Dummies Review and Giveaway!

Rowan has a tooth! Yes, she sprung her first one
about 10 days ago and is already pushing up the next
Daisy. I have been waiting for what seems like forever
to see these pearly whites! ( Oh, gosh, I said the
P word again and I am trying to kick the pearl obsession!)
Any who, it isn't that I am thrilled to see the teeth, this
isn't my first time at the Rodeo and I have seen baby
teeth before. Her first tooth is a big moment and I
am excited but what gets my panties in an even bigger
bunch is the fact this signifies the end of her drooling
like a spigot! I have grown weary of changing little
Babies clothes time after time again through the
coarse of the whole day. Even her Bibs, over and over
again for she soaks through items like they are made
out of tissue. That little 18 pound girl produces more
fluid a day then 10 grown men take and and put out
combined. I have no clue where it all comes from!
Finding Bibs that I like have become a hunt all on
their own.

The other issue I have is now that she has those
little teethys in the front she is all over food! That little
girl has her Daddy's personality to a T and is the most
stubborn thing in the word and insists on feeding herself.
She makes a mess larger then the guys who played
the Mud Football game every summer at our cottage.
If it wasn't for the fact most of what she eats is brightly
colored I may never see the fact she files some away
for later in odd spots like her ear or her nose. Her clothes?
Forget about it, these are stained beyond help! I always
see cute little baby outfits at Garage sales and used to buy them
like a mad woman. In fact I have bought clothes period
for Rowan like a mad woman and now it just about
brings me to tears when I realize I will never be able
to offer her own clothes up at a garage sale for one
time on her and they are toast! Or Apple sauce, or
Peaches, or Blueberry something or other or whatever
else she ate that day! Gone and ruined, that is her Motto!
The last issue I have had in the few weeks before this
post is with teething comes teething toys and rings
and she has them everywhere. I swear I bought like
20 of those when she first whimpered at her sore little
gums and now when she is in an all and all out scream
fest for those little teeth are hurting her I can never find
one. She flings those things like an Olympian Disc
thrower and they are all over the house. If I could just
glue her little fingers to one and have it stay there to
she is a year and a half or so things might not be so
crazy here. Every time I vacuum and move something,
wow, look 14 teething rings!
So the problems I have are her drooling like a spigot,
keeping her clothes clean with a bib that doesn't fall off
or soak through in 10 seconds and keeping her from
loosing everything! They all seem like little things but
when you add them all together it is enough to drive you
mad!

As I was flipping through my favorite Etsy sites
and category's I came across a new place that caught
my eye. Bibs for Dummies! No it is not a book that details
the step by step process on how to tie a bib on baby but
rather the other obvious choice. They sell bibs and really,
you don't have to be a dummies to get a lot of use out of
them either. Her bibs are pretty much everything I have
been missing in a bib and could never find all in one place
before. I could find bibs that were pull over and Rowan
couldn't get them off but those were always real thin or
really cheaply made and after a couple of uses, BAM, they
would fall apart. I have found Bibs that were thick and
absorbent before but that also meant they were heavy and
sometimes even came untied or unvelcro'd before Rowan
even yanked on them due to the weight. Now I have to
admit I have never found a bib with the strap for teething
rings on it before and I can't believe someone never made
one of those for what a No-Brainer when it comes to
ideas!

Bib for Dummies takes a product we all need and
turns it into a stylish, super functional and perfect for
those busy Mom's who don't have the time to not only
change Baby every ten minutes but look for lost teething
rings, toys and pacifiers. They also are a pull over Bib that
makes it imposable for most babies to get off. I have
to say most, for there is always one in every bunch that can
defy all odds. They come in a bunch of different styles so
not matter what your personal one is they have something
you will love. I picked a Beetles theme for review and I just
loved this Bib. I have one or two other pull over bibs and
I just love them! I hate the Velcro bibs and for with my hair,
the dogs hair and everything else that gets stuck in the Velcro
they never work for very long. The ties are too hard to get
a knot that Rowan can't undo or I CAN undo when she is
done and snaps are about the only one I can live with.
Whenever I see a pull over I grab it for they really are the
Bomb but nobody makes them anymore. I had plans on going
through my old towels this week to find ones I can handle
kissing goodbye and just attempting to make my own so I
am super excited I found Bibs for Dummies because now
I don't have too! For a Pull Over all you do it slip it over babies
head and it will stay there to you slip it off! Her Bibs are also
super thick and absorbent so baby stays dry. They are double
layered so even Rowan and her drool factory is no match
and I love the fact that she stays dry for the entire time I
have the bib on her. Around the house I have just been
leaving it on for it makes life so much more easy. Now
the part I liked the best was the ribbon that is sewn right
onto the bib for attaching a toy, teething ring or pacifier
so baby can not play a game of dropsy or practice her
long throw skills. Her Teething rings are going to stay
right on the Bib that is going to stay right where I put
it. Now if I could get baby to stay right where I put her!
Bibs for Dummies has several designs for little
girls and little boys and ones that can go either way. I
love the hip, chic fashions and when I put them through
the Michelle Test for Quality ( I should trademark that!)
they passed with flying colors for they held up like a
champ. The flew through repeated washing and best
of all Rowan who is the ultimate tester for any product,
in fact she is so hard on items I feel like I should send
her off to a clothing company to be inspector 1.7 months
for they need her to check their goods out before they
even leave the factory! Bibs for Dummies stood up to
little miss thing and came back for more. I have to say
I think I have stumbled across the perfect bib and it
just doesn't get much better then this. Perfect Style,
Perfect Quality, Perfect bonus in the attached Toy or
Teething ring holder. Just perfect! Two thumbs up for
Bibs for Dummies!

I have an extra one here for one of you guys too! It
is the Dick and Jane Rectangles and to win it just head

Nacho Mama Tees Reivew and Conest!

Ever had something to say but knew people
would give you the look if you did? Well don't say
it, wear it! Nacho Mama Tees has a shirt for just
about every occasion. From snappy comebacks,
TV shows, down and out silly or you can even
explore your dark side and let your boss know
how you really feel, Nacho Mama has all your
needs covered.

A lot of their shirts say the things I have always
wanted to but never had the nerve to say it. They
make it funny too boot! More of their T-shirts take
you back to a better day and you will find yourself
surrounded with people pointing and telling you they
remember that! ( I hear banjo music!)These shirts
make great gifts for the Holidays and are even better
gifts for yourself. I must warn you though, these are not
your Mama's shirt!

Andrew received a shirt for review and it was not only
hysterical it was fantastic in the Quality department. Now
this shirt was reviewed by a 16 year old boy who goes
through clothes like you can just rub a Gennie lamp and
have an endless supply. I almost didn't give them the
Michelle Test for I didn't think it would be fair. He is
so hard on clothes that I thought this would be more then
enough of a testament to the shirts quality but as
I was thinking this Andrew walked into the room with
yet another piece of clothing he had ruined ( how do
you put holes in blue jeans less then a month
old? ) and put me in a sour mood so to get out of it
Nacho Mama went through the ringer, LITERALLY!
I washed and pulled and poked and prodded like a
woman on fire and I can not believe how durable
the shirt is. Not only did it pass my test I was thoroughly
impressed with the fact it is super thick and not all
thin and flimsy like most guy shirts are now a days. I
always compare them to toilet paper, you get the one
ply or the triple ply and the shirts lately are supposed to
be the triple ply for the price you pay but what they
do is take the triple ply and make three shirts out of
it and you are left with one ply garbage. Not here,
this shirt will rock for a while. Now, I also have had the
shirt for about ten days for I told you I was going to put
it through the ringer and Andrew has worn it 8 times
in those ten days for he layers his clothes and will wear
another over the top so it doesn't look like he is
wearing the same thing over and over again. I washed
it 10 times extra in those days and it was on Doctor
Damages body as well and is still perfect and not even
the slightest hint of being stretched out. The shirt is
da bomb, no doubt about it!

Add in the fact they have a great selection,
loads of funny quips and snappy comments and you
have a T-shirt to tell Mama all about. Great shirt, great
price and they eve beat the boy. I wonder what Chuck
Norris would say about that?

Now for the really good part, I told them how much I
loved them and they said they wanted to give you guys
a shirt too! All you have to do is head on over and tell
me what shirt you would pick and leave a post telling
me the shirt and size for the lucky winner is going to
get it sent right to their house! The contest starts
tonight and runs midnight march 23rd.

Crazy Dog T-shirts Review and Giveaway!

Hard to shop for relatives Beware! We have
the cure for you fickle guy blues! Crazy Dog T-shirts!
I must say they have a shirt for every personality and
when I first found their site a while ago I bust out
laughing and my son ran into the room to see if
he finally had his chance to send me off to the loony
bin and get me out of his hair!

I had a blast taking a stroll down memory lane
in the 80's section and since when did the high-
lights of my youth become retro! From safe to down
right don't let your Mama read this, the place has it
all!
My son loves their Chuck Norris Shirts and wants
to collect them all so if any of you guys wanna.........
well, never mind, but all you have to do is check out
the home page and next time you check your watch you'll
find three hours have went by and you haven't laughed
that much in years.

Let's not forget the even better stuff! They are in
inexpensive and offer free shipping when you purchase
four or more shirts. They have shirts for men, women and
kids and even costumes for you and your dog. Prices
start at 9 bucks and everyday they have a special for
only $6.99. You just can't beat that! In fact how I found
out about them is I was searching for a shirt as a gift and
everywhere I looked it was around 20 dollars. I even tried
Ebay for this was for a joke and I just didn't want to spend
20 bucks. I was just about ready to throw in the towel and I
found these guys! Now, well let's just say I tell what kind of
mood my son and Husband are in just by reading their shirts
everyday.

I received a shirt I have had my eye on for a while for
review, the boys are stupid throw rocks at them and was
tickled pink as the shirt to get it! It is delicate as us
females are but don't let the girly style fool you for I gave
it the Michelle Test and its dainty design does not change
the fact it is durable as all get out. I loved the light weigh
feel of it and I was really excited for even though places
say we have T-shirts for Ladies most of the time you just
get a guy style shirt that has a girly picture on it but this
one has been made for the gals the whole way. I have
worn it a bunch for I love rubbing it in the guys faces
and it fits perfect and not only still looks bright and vibrant
it still has kept its shape and I have a bad problem with
sticking my knees under something and stretching it out!
With tons of designs to choose from and great fashion,
quality and pricing you just can't go wrong with these guys!
In fact to buy else where would be Crazy, Dog!

Now for the really good part, I told them how much I
loved them and they said they wanted to give you guys
a shirt too! All you have to do is head on over and tell
me what shirt you would pick and leave a post telling
me the shirt and size for the lucky winner is going to
get it sent right to their house! The contest starts

Costumes for Less Review and Giveaway!

What little girl does not like to be a Princess? I
mean Daddy always treat their little girls like one
but sometimes they need just a little more. Little
boys like to play in the yard and get all down and dirty
and little girls like to play pretend and wear Mommy's
shoes and dress like a star. In fact dress up was
one of my favorite things to do. I still remember to
this day a pair or red, white and blue patten leather
boots my mother had that went up to her knees and
my thighs or higher. The were so 60 with thick soles
and she had a jacket to match or at least pretty close
and I loved to dress in it. Now my mother was not
a dress person but she had the hippy styles down
pat and some pretty neat goodies there to get into.
My Grandmother was Mrs Dress but even then I knew
her taste and mine we not the same. Nothing she had
resembled a Princess or Movie Star in anyway so I
never had the hankering to wear her dresses but I hit
up her Jewelry Drawer as often as I could and she had
no problem passing on old beaded Necklaces to me
to wear. Now these were the good old seventy's so when
we played dress up we made do with hand me downs and
our Moms closet but now a days things have really changed.
Costumes are so affordable and you can get Crowns and
Tiera's at the dollar store and even some little plastic
high heels. Dressing up and Playing pretend has gone
to a whole other level and the Kitchen sets look better
then my real one and you can buy ready made boxes
of outfits and accessory's fit for well, a Queen! Even
Birthday party themes have got into the act. For Andrews
first and Second Birthday I hired a clown and then a
magician and the kids had a blast that way but for
Rowan I can have a Birthday party in a box where all
the little girls dress up as Princesses or Fairy's or
even just pile on the glam. It all comes right to you door
and you just let the people know how many guests will
be there. Too bad I do not know many little girls ( maybe
1!) and I am going to have a hard time convincing Rowans
cousins to dress up as a princesses when they are all
Princes!
One of my things I insist on doing for Rowan and I
am sure it every little girls dream is to buy a Vanity for her
room and a Wardrobe and fill it with Dresses and outfits
for her to wear and play in. When we move it will be the
first thing I work on and I have already started collecting
outfits now. I would also love an old steamer trunk to
put her little dress up shoes in and some old fashioned
hat boxes and can't wait to the summer so I can hit some
garage sales to look for those items and handfuls of costume
Jewelry. If the house we buy has a large enough basement I
am going to add building a stage to John's Honey Do list
and I am going to borrow some of the concert lighting for
the show! Now I know I am going over board with the
basement but you got to remember a couple of things,
yes, she will be spoiled. I have waiting a lifetime for a little
girl and I was a tomboy myself then later in life wished I
did some more girly stuff so this is my chance to fix
that with her. The other is the Stage would get more then
just Rowan for a user for John's band Practices all the time
and they do it at his brothers now but it is an hour drive
so if he had the basement all set up they could do it here
instead. Right now we live in a Condo so the basement is
not very large and Andrew's room takes up most of it. The
new house will have him back in a Bedroom for he will
only be there a year or so before he is off to school and
a dorm so he will no longer crave 700 square feet of roaming
room to call his own. This means I can have the basement
back we used to use as a rec room and I plan on claiming
a little part of it for Rowan and I!

My hunt for dress up clothes has been long but
unlike other long searches this one has been fun. Where
else do you get to check out costume shops and novelty
shops and vintage dress boutiques and browse through all
the spectacular dresses and dream about being a princess
yourself. Then when your Hubby asks what you did all
day you get to play it off like it isn't how you
really want to be spending your time and make the
Hubby feel bad for doubting you and say since you are
working so hard for other people why don't you find a
little something for yourself? See, a twofer! I have went to
a lot of vintage stores looking for dresses and though I have
found some really beautiful items I had a big problem with
finding ones that were anywhere near a child's size. Long
gone are the days where Parents dress their children in
formal clothes and it really isn't any fun for the kids to
go and play dress up with a dress they can find on the
rack at Kohl's right now. They want glamor and style and
long flowing skirts and pink taffeta and Empire waists.
I also checked out the little kits at the store and found
a few that were super sweet and grabbed them. The problem
there isn't that they don't fit or make her feel like a princess
and there are only like 5 styles. I want her to be able to
play dress up and have a selection. To be able to play
with her little friends and not all have to wear the same
outfit. I have done some awesome reviews for a couple
of places that sell Tu Tu's and those are coming up but
I still had the dress issue. Then I thought, why at
Halloween they have tons and I mean tons of costumes
that are not only a Princess but a flapper, a rock star, a
Fairy, a hippy. Why you can find clothes for every single
theme you can imagine and more. If your child even thinks
about becoming an Astronaut for 32 seconds before moving
on to a Cow Girl or Boy you can encourage their dreams by
getting them an outfit to help hold their attention just a
little bit longer.

Long gone are the days when Mom spent her twilight
hours working on that perfect costume for her little
trick or treat-er. Or even kids who made it themselves,
for I remember working for weeks on a cardboard box that
I transformed into a TV when I was like 8 or 9. The bummer
there is when I finally got to wear it the weather did not
agree and it started to pour. By the time I got home I
was covered in poster paint and in tears. Now you
can just hit an Internet site or walk into a store and get
everything you need, the dress, the accessory's and the
thrill of wearing it, all in one little kit that costs less then
a pair of shoes at Pay less. I could not believe my friends,
a lot of whom swear they know everything, did not refer
me to a costume shop when I was asking them over and
over again for ideas on where to get clothing to start building
a dress up collection for Rowan. I went crazy for a week
making a list of themes I wanted to get for her ( we must
remember folks, Rowan is still a baby, this is my quest not
hers right now!) and ended up with over 130 different styles
I wanted to cover. Why that would be a fantasy closet every
little child could dream of! Now I was not going to buy them
all at once for I have about 2 years before she will even
get around to asking but I know a lot of you have kids who
like to do this now. Further more I did check out some retail
stores that sell dress up wear but boy were they pricey and
a costume store not only has a wider selection they
also don't break the bank!

I searched a ton but I got hung up on Costumes for Less!
When you go to their web site right in the corner it says they
have everything and boy, they were not joking. I found
everything on my list plus added a bunch more! I also
cracked up for they have the largest line of Pet costumes
I have ever seen and since Rowan and Boo are so close......
well, let's just say I feel bad for that little pooch sometimes!
There were 2921 outfits in the Children's section alone and
Rowan could have dreams of being anything from a doctor to
Little Miss Muffet and more! I was so impressed I wrote them
and let them know that I planned on sharing this find with
my readers and they sent an outfit for review. I was sent an
Adorable Princess dress that has twinkle lights in the skirt.
I was just about drooling as I opened it and floored with
the quality. I just didn't expect it to be so nice for the
price it was listed at. Plus, it has twinkle lights! Now
it is a little large for Rowan to wear right now, like I said
Baby, not ready for dress up unless it is to humor mom,
but when she is ready that little baby will be the sharpest
princess in the court! The have costumes that range in
price from $7.95 cents all the way up to $195.00 and
your child can be anything from a Jedi to Raggedy Anne,
a Zoo Keeper to Wonder Woman. Kings, Queens, Zorro
and a Bee! The list would go on for ever. I have flat out
decided that this is the way to go and Costumes for Less
has saved me more time then I care to admit for I would
have looked from one side of the Earth to the other before
I found a store half as good as this one. Did I mention
the Twinkle Lights? No longer do we have to wait to
Halloween to encourage our children's dreams and Fantasy's
for at these prices your kids can try on a new dream whenever
they get the urge! Costumes for less can also meet your
Halloween and Party needs too, after all that is what they
were built for and offers literally thousands of choices from
Infants and Pets to Adult. For Halloween you can find daring
and sexy for Mom a Couch Potato to highlight Dad's in
the natural world and Pooch can be part of the fun by
dressing up like the little devil she already is! Already
have the costume but its just missing that certain something,
something? They have you covered there are well with loads
of accessories that can add the frosting to any cake! Now you
don't have to be a nut case like me and go all out to have a
dream dressing room for your child that rivals a Hollywood
movie set but if you are looking for something for your
kids, something for a costumes party's or just ideas for
next Halloween, Costumes for less has a vast selection
of great items all at a reasonable prices and they have it
year round! My review of costumes for less may be coming
to an end but my opinion of them is threw the roof and
I will be shopping there for many years to come! Who knows,
next time I tell you my kids and the pooch are acting like
Monsters it might just be because they are! Grrrrrrrrrr!
Costumes for less for also kind enough to offer a costume
of their choice for your little girl or boy! Did I mention mine
came with twinkle lights? To enter just head over to their
site and take a look around then come back here and post
what costume you like best in a comment. You never know,
that could be the costume you win! The contest starts tonight
and will run to midnight on March 19th.

SnowStoppers Review and Giveaway!

Brrrrrrrrrrr, welcome to Michigan, home of the Freezing
cold, foot after foot of snow and Drifts so high instead
of making a snow fort out of them you can make a snow
apartment complex. I hate just walking out to the car
for the wind chill knocks my socks off and I can not
bundle up enough! When I take out Johns old Beater
of a truck it is even worse for you spend all that time
clearing the windows and snow off of everything and
then jump in and start her up and it takes 42 years
to even feel the heat. John is such a baby he will leave
it to the windshield wipers to remove the snow and
ice and scares the Bejesus out of me for I can't stand it
when he starts to move the truck and there is only a tiny
spot he can see out of and no spot that I can see out
of. I keep waiting for the impending CRUNCH of his truck
taking out a stop sign or worse yet, another car for
his line of sight has got to be skewed! What is funny though
is when I was a child I could not wait to go out in the snow.
I would spend the whole day laying out in a snow bank making
forts, snow balls and snow men and try to stop me from
covering the whole yard with snow angels. My Grandmother
would stand at the door and scream for me to come in
begging to get out of the cold with it only open a crack so
the Arctic chill wouldn't follow me in! I would slam a cup
of Cocoa and go right back out. The whole City would be
shut down and frozen over and you could look down any
block and see hoards of kids all over the streets! I remember
one time in particular that we had an ice storm, 1977, and
this shut down everything for almost a week. Jobs, School,
the streets and more. A lot of places did not even have power
and people were huddled in their homes trying to keep warm
but still, the streets were flooded with children having
a blast and thinking the ice storm was the best thing
to ever happen!
Years later on a snow day I look outside and smile.
Somethings never change and my son used to sit right by
my side on Mornings that the snow had fell the entire night
before and watch the school closings just hoping he could
run out and play. I helped him with forts and castles and
had more then one snow ball fight and those crowds of
kids, yes, they are still there, laughing and playing
and making Angels and hoping their parents don't call
them in for even though they love the Hot Chocolate
they love the snow even more! Little snow suits and
mitten and gloves are replaced with fresh dry ones and
with a pat on the butt they are sent back out to play!
I remember how much fun I had but as a Parent when
Andrew was young I remember a whole other set of
items too, the worries.
Is he warm enough?
Is He Dry enough?
Are the hat and mittens he is wearings staying on snugly?
Is the water seeping through?
Is the hat slipping off and not covering his ears?
I don't even know why I bothered to stay in the house
for I was out and checking on him a zillion times a hour
and unlike my Grandmother who cracked the door, here
I am out there in slippers and a thin T-shirt adjusting his
clothes and pretty much embarrassing him to death in front
of his friends. Most of his snow gear was pieced together
from different stores and nobody really carried complete
selections of children's items for it was always a little of
this and a little of that and heaven forbid you get there
after October first for then everything was so picked over
you were lucky to find a pair of mittens that had a left
and a right, let alone be ridiculous enough to assume
they might allow you the luxury of a choice in products.
I could never understand how Michigan retailers could
get away with this for um, HELLO, it snows every single
year and kids grow every single year and parents have to
buy new items every single year so you think they would
cater to that. I guess the reasoning is beggars can't be
choosers so you take what you can get. Well my son was
born on the dawn of the Internet and my daughter is here
at a time when I now have a choice and can assure what I
dress her in is not only stylish and cute but functional,
of great quality and truly effective. In short, I want her
to be able to play and me to be able to breath at the same
time with out constantly freaking out that she is warm and
toasty and wearing a hat and mittens that are sub par and
leak.

Unlike the retail stores here where I walk in to
look for items and I am directed to an area, then a
shelf in the area and then a spot on the shelf in the
area and told here are your choices, on line they were
vast and it seemed like a daunting task to find the best.
Wow, I thought I would be searching through site after
site for forever and a day! Then I came across SnowStoppers!
Now only do they offer a choice of nylon or fleece Hats
and Mittens and Gloves these guys are a store that caters
to kids! They even carry extra small sizes for your toddlers
so they can get out there with their brothers and sisters and
play too! I sent them an email letting them know how
glad I was to find them and they offered to send me some
for review to let me see for myself how great these were.
I was sent a selection of sizes and materials and for one,
I can not help but to look at a little child's anything and not
go aweeeeeeeeee, for if you take any item and make it
pint size it is always too cute for words and the mittens
and gloves did not disappoint. They were adorable. The
Quality of both designs ( Nylon and Fleece ) were both
top shelf for I yanked like a mad woman on any part
I could pull on and nothing short of a blow torch is going
to pull these apart. I tossed them in the washer and dryer
for the standard four loads a day for four days and they look
like day one and did not shrink at all in the dryer and that
was a concern for there is nothing I hate more then
getting pair of gloves or mitten in the perfect size then
washing them and POOF they are two sizes too small.
These not only looked great after washing they held their
size. I am also a busy Mom and unless something is a dress
only item I seldom take the time to read washing instructions
so I could not even tell you if you are supposed to wash
them on a normal cycle and truth be told I didn't even
care, I had to see with my own eyes for at my house
they will make it into a normal cycle sooner or later so
I had to know. Perfection!

Now came the ultimate test! The Kids! SnowStoppers
was super to me and sent a bunch of different sizes so
I decided to go all out with the Mittens and John has three
Nephews who are aged 2, 4, and 6 and live in the country.
Who better to test then three rugged boys? These boys
have their hands in everything and it doesn't matter if the
snow is slushy or wet, muddy or icky and just like Iron Man
the cold just doesn't register and their Mom is always trying
to drag them back in before they catch pneumonia due to
the fact they just won't come in on their own. We thought,
oh yes, perfect test subjects. We have also been having
scattered snow storms around here and it was the perfect
time to do the test. Fresh Snow, heavy wet snow at that,
and 3 boys to play in it! Off they went. 3 hours they were
out there. Even their snow suits were soaked through
and us adults had to take turns on who went and stayed
with them for like the big babies we all were, it was too
cold! As we were peeling things off, and the Hot Chocolate
was heating, we started checking hands. DRY! As a group
of Moms we pretty much could not believe it and flipped the
Mittens inside out and the whole inside was dry. Now the
Coats and snow pants were wet inside and out but these
Mittens were still warm and dry after being in snow for
hours and wet snow at that. Perfect!

What makes the SnowStoppers so remarkable is the
SnowStopper Sleeve. It goes under the coat and over
the child and stops the snow from getting inside so
the effect is the mittens do not fall off and your child
does not get cold! Michigan Moms can not ask for more
then that. Hours of fun, dry children and a perfect Mitten
or Glove! YES! The mittens also feature thinsulate and
a waterproof liner so the kids stay super warm. The Hats
are just as awesome and I loved the Chin strap for
it is thick and stays put and doesn't come unhooked with
one turn of the head as so many others do! They also
have an eMitt flip top for older kids and Adults that is a
mitten and glove all in one and perfect for cold winters
and playing with the kids! Now Mom and Dad can stay
warm to as the kids laugh in delight every time the mean
little monsters peg me with another snowball! Boys!
I am so glad Rowan will be a sweet little angel next year
when she is out in the snow and won't get a kick out
of taking down Mommy. We all know Daddy is the
better target. SnowStoppers also have a line of Polar
Hoods and these rock at keeping Mom and Dad warm for
I freeze like crazy and I am the tuff one at our house,
John is the baby. Last thing I want to tell you is that
though their Mittens and Gloves are Hot their Prices
are Cool! Super affordable that you don't have to wait
for a end of season clearance sale just to suit up
your kids. Better yet, you get an even better deal on
a set! Now that is cool!

SnowStoppers has even offered to give some of my
readers a set of their own! Two of my readers will win
a Hat and Mitten set from SnowStoppers. Your children
will never stay so warm! To enter just head over to the
site and take a look around then come back here and
post what you saw in a comment. The contest will start
tonight and run to Midnight on March 1st.

Kokopax Review and Giveaway

Spring is around the corner and I love the warm weather
and one of the reasons I love Spring is the fact you get to
break out some of the warm weather gear and clothing for
your kids. It is time to put away the functional Winter clothes
and pull out the cute stuff and dress your children in the
hippest, cutest most happening fashions. If you have a
little girl or a little boy it doesn't matter for Spring and
Summer just have the most adorable designs there are.
Darling short sets to show off those chubby little baby
legs, flowing sundresses for your little girl, brightly colored
ruff and tumble overalls for your little boy and Charming
Hats and sunglasses for both! Last year Rowan only had
a couple of months of warm weather she was able to enjoy
but it didn't change the fact I quickly compiled a wide
assortment of hats for her to wear on her daily walks
with the Pooch. I just love those Quirky Sun Hats and
Floppy Brim styles. Who could resist? Let's not also forget
they also provide valuable protection for Babies new
and delicate skin and shelter from the harmful rays of
the sun. By the first of September I had an even larger
Winter collection but by the end of December I was
already chomping at the bit to find some new Spring
styles. For Starters, Easter isn't Easter with out a big
old hat a top Baby's head. I wanted to make sure I saw
all there was out there before I started making my choices
for Rowan will have her first Birthday mid-summer and
that will be the season for many of her firsts. In fact when
they did Summer clearance on Pool Toys last Fall I bought
so many I had to buy a large plastic storage bin to keep them
all in. You can bet your bottom dollar Rowan with be out
in the sun more then in the house and I want to make
sure I have her protected from all outdoor dangers. The Sun
is a big one and the fact the best way to keep her little bald
head safe are some adorable fashions are just a perk in my
eyes!

While browsing for Hats I came across the most
adorable site filled with children's items for outdoor travel.
Kokopax has everything from Carriers, to Totes and Sun
Hats and more. The Floppy Brim Savannah Sun Hats are
what hooked me, their designs and quality are what reeled
me in. I loved the fact they were made of 100% Cotton so
even when the hot rays of the Sun are bearing down on
my baby she is protected without sweating and feeling
uncomfortable for we all know Cotton breaths and is a
super material all the way around. The fact the hats are
made of a Cotton canvas is even better for it means they
not only keep her covered she can touch them with sticky
fingers or I can slather lotion on her and not worry about
them being stained or ruined for they are super simple to
keep clean. The Hat they sent for review was drop dead
adorable and I really fell in love with the chin strap for
it made it a snap to put on and take off and inquisitive
little hands will have a hard time yanking it off whenever
your back is turned. It is still a little on the large side for
her and I was super glad for that means little miss growing
in leaps and bounds will fit it perfectly come the first warm
day of Spring. I can't wait to show her off!

Kokopax also has a super functional lightweight carriers
that is perfect for those warm weather walks down the block
and not only offers baby a perfect vantage point for exploring
the world around her is also really comfortable for Mom or
Dad to wear and keeps baby tucked in and safe for the trip.
They have a style to even match the hat or more feminine or
whimsical or whatever your flair and yes Dads, they offer
a solid black so you don't feel like you are on a fashion
parade with your toddler or Baby. Don't think for a second
just because you guys complain about our bright patterns
and busy designs that we don't know the minute you are
out of earshot and eye sight and someone tells you how cute
your child looks you are not taking total credit and exclaiming
how you picked out the items yourself. Mom's have been onto
you for years!

Kokopax even offers a Eco Classic Carrier that uses the
best Green technology in its design and still remains
extreamly comfortable and fashionable as well. The fact
it has a five part harness or weighs less then 3 pounds
are just perks that people familiar with Kokopax have
come to expect in their products. One of the things I liked
best with the Kokopax carriers is the Kickstand and
the fact it makes for easy loading of your child and this
carrier is one of the easiest to use I have found. The Totes
are just as well crafted and I can see Kokopax will have
a long life at my house for we are an up and at um type of
family and they are built for people like us!

Kokopax is also offering to give one of my readers a hat

Kicky Pants Review

I love love love and a double love, little Girl Clothes.
In fact, I spend most of my day looking for clothing
that will let Rowan and her inner Princess shine and
when I find a store that has items as adorable as my
little bundle I just have to share! I know I am biased but
Rowan really does brighten up a room and when I see
clothing just as bright it gets me all worked up and I have
to starts spreading the word or I will explode holding it
in! I also have a special association with this next clothing
line for the name of their store and is a name I often refer
to Rowan as! She is such a little bundle of energy she can't
sit still for a second and is always kicking her legs and
waving her arms and I always ask her how my little "Kicky
Pants" is doing. When I found out there was a store
and clothing line bearing the same name as my nick name
for Baby Baby I had to check it out because for me the
name is associated with an adorable bundle of energy and
I wanted to see if their clothes reflected that too! I about
fell over when I read that is also how they got their name
for the couple who started kicky pants used to call
their son the same thing. I may be destined to start
my own line but now I would not have a name!

Not only does Kicky Pants have an adorable
product line they are bright and colorful and cheery
as all get out and well, just as full of life and spirit as
Rowan is! Now to mention they are adorable and made
for a Princess or Prince! Hollywood Royalty also
loves Kicky Pants and you see stars everywhere toting
their tots in Kicky Pants Fashions. Even Angelina Jolie
and her brood wear them and you can also find them in
scores of fashion magazines. I went Ga Ga over their
whimsical designs and timeless fashions and spent hours
day dreaming about what Rowan would look like in some
of their outfits. Kicky Pants sent me the cutest outfit
for Rowan to wear for a review. It is all bright pink flowers
in a comfortable loose two piece set. It is perfect for spring
or summer for it is loose, soft, comfy and a great perk for
Mom, easy to put on and take off. Best of all it is super
girly and after 16 years of boy this and boy that I want to
buy nothing but girl clothes from here on out! Kicky Pants
has a full line of Cotton and Bamboo items and from a
review I did not too long ago we all know how soft Bamboo
is and what a great material it is to work with an feel next
to your skin. In fact I can't think of a cloth I would want more
touching my Baby for she deserves gentle loving care and
I love that they also have flair. They also carry a line
toys and busy gadgets for the car to keep baby happy and
entertained and the founders have also invented a must
have item for your car called the Auto Mobile. This little

ditty allows you to hang your child's favorite play items
safely in your car so you never have to worry about them
dropping or loosing something while you are on the road
again. It is never fun when baby wants to play "Drop-see"
when tucked in their high chair but on the road it can
be down right dangerous and you end up either groping
around while you drive or pulling over to find it to stop
JR's Wails. Kicky Pants also sells Maternity items
and just like the kids clothes you will find the same
quality and soft comfy softness in their fabric. I made sure
to give them the "Michelle" test for Quality and Kicky
Pants went above and beyond my standards and though
I pulled, picked, fiddled and washed to death, have held
their shape, color and texture with aplomb!

You can buy their items at many retail locations
through out the country and there is an easy guide to
locate the closest to you on their site. From the site
they offer last years items at deep discount for the
retail stores always keep the latest fashions in stock!
I flat out fell in love with their layered Ruffle Dress and
the Antique Floral Print Dress. Simple Elegance meets
Childish Charm. These are clothes that are precious enough
to wear to the best events but comfortable enough for
every day! Kicky Pants not only makes Rowan look good
but they make me look good for dressing her in them
in the first place! My final thoughts on Kicky Pants,
Totally cool, Super Stylish and an all around great buy!
