Otter Box Review and Giveaway
How many cell phones have been ruined in this house?
Let me count the ways....................
two in the wash
one in the toilet
one at the park
Four cracked Faces
Three dropped on concrete so hard they no longer worked
and one just went "poof"
I will have to give Motorola credit though, for the last
time my son put a phone through the wash the entire
front was fogged up and the space just under the cover
plate was filled with water. You just looked at it and thought
toast, and since we only use cell phones at home and
had our land lines removed since Cable Internet I had to
replace his phone. I went out, bought a new one and forgot
about his washed one sitting on the window sill in the
Kitchen. About a week later I spotted it and would you
believe all the fogging was gone? I couldn't for I had dropped
one in a toilet before and though I grabbed it in less then a second
it was already soaked and I tried everything to dry it out
with no luck. This phone went through an entire wash and an
extra spin cycle and now looked like it had never happened.
I was pretty certain it would no longer work but found myself
digging out the charger none the less and an hour later
I had a dial tone. I could not believe it! Now, I don't know if
the call would have went through for the number was already
transferred to the new phone but to have any dial tone at
all was remarkable to me and I have saved the phone for
if the one my son has now meets an untimely demise I
am going to switch the number back to that one first and
see if it works before I invest in yet another.
You would think after all those mishaps with
cell phones all of us would take better care of our phones
and invest in a case to protect them but we must have been
born stupid. The last one broke right before Christmas and
financially could not have came at a worst time for with John
being laid off, another child to buy for this year and the
fact Christmas costs and arm and a leg already, I was not
very excited at the fact Andrew needed yet another phone.
I was determined this would be the last and went and joined
the smart club of people who protect theirs every way possible.
Other then the occasional romp in the wash most of Andrews
phones are broken due to damage by being dropped or stepped
on ( if you saw his room you would not wonder how it got stepped
on) and if there was a way to protect them from that
damage I would only have to replace the phones I lose.
Lost phones are my specialty. I started looking for some
darn good cases for even a good case is a whole heck of
a lot cheaper then the phones Andrew breaks. There are
tons of Cell Phone items out there, I mean tons, you could
take them all and fill an army of trucks and still have more
left over so I ended up looking around for what was Garbage
and belonged in the truck and what was left over. The good
stuff.
Meet Otter Box! With all the places I checked out
these guys truly are the best of the best! I contacted them
and was sent a Defender Series™ for iPhone™ 3G / 3GS for
Andrews phone. This thing is like the Adamantium of Phone
cases and Andrew could tap dance on his phone and still be
able to use it. NO Andrew, that is not an offer! It offers 3 ply
protection, first a layer over the touch screen. This helps to
keep scratches and dings off of it and the occasional Reece's
cup smear just wipes right off without doing damage. After
that they encase the whole thing in the hard, tuff, and
super effective Polycarbonate that acts like Armour and
protects it from Andrews classic move of sitting on it wrong
and instead of the thing snapping in two it cracks on the face
plate where the tension is less. The Skeleton makes sure it is
strong all over and saves you from this fate. The last line of
defense is the outer layer of Silicone that absorbs shock and
impact and saves your phone for the Oops, I am so clumsy
today syndrome my son suffers from. The case also has a
handy dandy clip to keep it on his belt and not his pocket
where he always forgets, and yes, I am also to blame, to
check before washing. Neither of us are so bad we wouldn't
see it hooked to the belt and besides, he can't get his pants
off without removing the belt first anyway! All in all
this Cell Phone Case Rocked and I felt a lot more confidant
knowing that for as much as his phones cost this could very
well be the last one I might have to buy. I might even let the
boy out of the house again!
Otter Box has cases for just about every smart phone
out there and it now just seems silly too me that I keep
doling out hundred of dollars for phones but do not take the
time to learn about protecting that investment. Good thing I
seldom have to do such thinking and it an even better thing
I found Otter Box. Some of the brands they feature are Iphone,
Blackberry, Nokia, Palm and many more. All of them offer
style and protection, even from accident prone bulls in china
shops like my son! Otter Box was created in 1997 and is known
as the Innovator of Protective solutions for Hand Held Technologies.
I just like the fact they are going to save me a lot of money in
the long run. Hey, lots of facts and figures are great but the
proof is in the pudding and we banged on this baby all day and
it still looks like it came right out of the box. I also think
Otter Box is a place after my own heart for when I read the
about us page I had to laugh when I saw how they came up with
their name. The original box was water proof like an Otters fur and
they decided they had the same fun, playful disposition so
WaLaaaa, Otter Box. For this review I came to the conclusion
I just love Otter Box but just have one question for them.
Can you make something that finds its own way out of the
Washing Machine before the water goes on? Other then that,
two super big thumbs up ( Andrews thumbs too for he knows
you quiet possibly saved his life) for Otter Box!
How many cell phones have you guys had to
