Sock Grams Review and Giveaway  


I know when I was younger there was nothing I liked
better then running to the mail box and pulling out the mail
and seeing something with my name on it. When you are
a child and see it addressed to you every single part of your
body is shaking with excitement at the thought of what could
be inside. A card? Money? A letter? A Rock Star sending you
a letter to let you know he is really your father and not that
strange looking man in the Family room wearing Plaid shorts
and Black socks that come up to his knee's? Or, your long lost
Aunt the Queen of Cools ville has finally found you and is
sending a post to inform you that she has to advocate her thrown
and needs you to take over for her because you are the daughter
she never had. A box or big envelope is even more exciting for
the list of items that it could be grew from the for mentioned to
anything you could ever imagine spare a Pony. You run like the
wind to locate your parents to make sure its okay to open it
and are bouncing around like Tigger as you try to explain what
you have. When you get the okay you rip it open to find its
a couple of sheets of Lisa Frank Stickers from your pen pal
( what ever happened to them anyways?) and you spend the
rest of the day walking around on air over such a simple thing.
It is funny that when you are young, something as simple as a
postcard can make you so happy.

Fast forward 30 years or so and here I am again on my
way to the mail box, shirt covered in spit up, dark circles
under my eyes from lack of sleep, the baby hooked on my
hip and my foot shooing the dog away from the door. The box
is packed and I sigh as I drag everything out and try to balance
the load, baby and attempted escape of Pooch. Back to the
Kitchen table. Baby in highchair, the Pooch lost interest as
soon as I shut the door.

Letter from Andy's school. < I plop down heavy in the chair thinking "Now what?>
Everyday it is the same thing in a mix and match variety.
Some days it is more junk, less bills, other days more
bills less junk. Only around the Holidays do I get a Card
or letter and during the rest of the year the only person
who ever gives me a Howdy doo is my friend Becky in
Texas and that is just because she rocks in an all around
way. Now I will say I look forward to the UPS truck and the
FedEx guy for they always bring something I want but the
mail man, blech, I sometimes wish my dog nibbled on his
feet instead of licked them. He is the bearer of bad news
and I have all but forgot that excited feeling of running to
the mail box and squealing with delight that something has
my name on it. The really pathetic part is my son gets more
mail then I do!
Now let's talk about this mornings mail, first is the
same ritual with the stained shirt, tired eyes, baby and
pooch, then the box and the annoying prying of the over
stuffed junk mail. Back to the table. Baby in highchair.
Dog desserts me before I give her the "and just what
do you do to earn your keep? lecture as I open the mail.

"Hey, whats this?" I mutter as I grab a larger then normal
envelope in a Blue Metallic hue. I open the envelope and find
brightly colored tissue paper. Now we have a little bit of
interesting going on. I unwrap the paper and blink.

Pink Socks with Hearts all over them and a Valentines
theme. There is a card too!
I got a Sock Gram!
I have a smile.
Me, a smile when I opened the mail. Who the heck cares
about the bills I just opened and I am not even all that
upset that Hansons Windows has again sent the same
piece of junk mail they have sent me every week for the
last 6 years. How many windows do they think I need
anyways? Who cares, I got a Sock Gram! I don't think I
ever remember smiling at the thought of a sock as
a gift before. When you are a child socks are always
the present you groan at when you open at Christmas
time for you were hoping for anything to be in the
package other then clothes. It is the same thing at
your Birthday but half the time then the socks are some
gawdy, neon pink with Pom Pom's on the ankles that
you Great Aunt crafty knitted herself and the minute
you saw them you knew by the look on your mothers
face you were from this day forward doomed to wear them
every single time you were expecting to see Aunt Crafty
again. This experience was altogether different though,
not only did I appreciate these I actually loved the
whimsical charm. They had little toes built right into them
for Pete's Sake. How can you not love that?

I was totally enthralled with my Sock Grams and
have to fess up and tell you it put the biggest smile on
my face the rest of the day. Now I knew mine were
coming but I can imagine the reaction of an unsuspecting
Sock Gram receiver being even more enthusiastic then
mine was. The combination of the packaging, the card
and the silly little socks inside is enough to brighten
even the darkest and most depressing of days. Now
I am an adult and it plastered a stupid grin on my face
for hours, just think what it would do for a child who
is still excited to even get mail.I think even my son would
have to break his normal solemn demeanor and chuckle.
You can't help it, they are that darling.


Sock Grams is unique and entertaining way to
brighten any ones day and if a perfect gift idea to break
the monotony of sending flowers or candy. Even the
sticker that holds the socks together is amusing with
its witty slogan "Good for the heart and sole." On the site
you have a huge selection of socks to choose from in

a wide variety for every holiday and an even larger
selection of socks of every theme for those just because
gifts. The prices are reasonable and cheap in comparison
to Flowers and Candy and included in the price is the
Sock, a card and for Adults some foot cream and for
Children some stickers, all wrapped in tissue and then
placed in a Metallic Blue Envelope for delivery. Some of
my favorites were the cow socks and the high top
sneakers but they have you covered no matter how wild
your imagination is. Stuck for an end of the year gift
for you child's teacher? Why, they have a sock for that!
I know what John is getting for Father's Day, they have a
pair of men's socks with musical notes on them. How neat!
When John's band plays out John insists on wearing the most
awful outfits you have seen. Not one thing matches and it
is intentional. He has a huge collection of Novelty ties to
finish the look but now he can have socks too! I am darn sure
he never thought of that.
