Tie Buddies Review and Giveaway
Now I have to tell you guys this review was fun! It
wasn't meant to be, it really is a useful product but
we had a lot of fun doing it. The only thing Rowan can
do with shoes right now is put them in her mouth or untie
the laces and John's Nephews were crazy busy due
to the Holidays so it was Andrew and I on this one. We
both thought we knew how to tie shoes and emphasis on
the word thought!
If you were to look at either of our sneakers what
you see is a mess of knots for we both have the bad habit of
slipping them on and off without undoing the laces ever. What
happens to the shoe is they become all out of shape and distorted
and any support the shoe would have offered is gone. I need the
support for I have the worst feet in the world from years after
years of being on my feet 10 to 16 hours a day running a
restaurant and Andrew has Fred Flintstone feet that end up
turning any shoe into a Flip Flop in its desperate bid to even
stay on his feet. I wish I could show you a diagram of his feet
and when he is napping with his shoes off this
summer I will snap a picture for you because a Kama Kazi
attack is the only way I will get the shot. For now, just picture
a foot as wide as it is long, a peg! Any who, at almost 41 and 16
we thought we knew how to tie a shoe and before we could make
this work for us we had to face the fact we stunk at it and had to
forget what we thought we knew. Otherwise our skills were so
bad all we ended up with was a jumbled mess. Once we realized
that we were out skilled by thousands of Kindergartners
everywhere we had no problem for then we went with the flow
instead of trying to make the Tie Buddies Follow our lazy
excuse of a shoe tying effort!
What the Tie Buddies really does in the simplest
sense is give you handles where you need them to help
you grab your laces in the right place and makes it easier
to manipulate the shoe lace where the only possible way
to lace them is the right way. That was where Andrew and
I had the problems, we kept trying to force the wrong way!
Once we let go and went with it we had them laced in a snap.
They are perfect for clumsy fingers ( we had them) and if you
put them on like in the directions you would be able to just talk
your child through the process for it is so simple! I remember
with Andrew his Dad ended up teaching him ( see how fast I
passed the buck here) for I was so frustrated that he didn't
understand my explanation techniques. I was the Bunny, Dad
was the Eel but when he didn't understand or follow I was
stuck. What does the Bunny do when he can't figure out how to
run around the tree? Well before I shot the bunny and made
a hossenfeffer stew I sent him to the sea with his Dad
where he got the job done but abet in a sloppy way that
we have used all these years. You have no idea how many
laces were so mangled that I ended up cutting them off
when we were going someplace with other people and a quick
glance at Andrews shoes promised Embarrassment and I asked
him to re-tie them neat for the occasion.
I plan on saving this Little gadget for Rowans right
of passage and really wish I had it with Andrew for something
so simple would have saved me some major Grey Hairs
and frustration. It is also under my heading of I should have
thought of that for it is also genius in its perfect simplicity.
What is best is it works and anything that takes the frustration
out of daily life and leaves you more time for family time
is a win in my book! Tie Buddies is one of the great
little items that won't break the bank, makes a daunting task
easy as pie and help your little tyke develop Independence and
the feeling of self satisfaction at completing a task on their own.
The biggest win, you children will have shoes that don't look
like they have been tied by a neanderthal and instead turn out perfect
every time!

is going to give one of you a Tie Buddie of your own. To enter

Tie Buddies offer children ages 3-9 the independence of tying their own shoes while quickly teaching them a method which is based around characters and stories depicted on the Tie Buddies themselves
