Wild Cubs Review and Giveaway!

Sometimes when you are not looking for anything
at all you stumble across the best treasures. That
is what happened to me not all the long ago. I love
Etsy and the shops there. I have told you guys many
times about my Grandmothers thing for Craft Shows and
how she would take me to them. Well I was still pretty
young when I became hooked on them myself and by the
time I was in my Mid-Teens I knew just as much about
them as she did and still can't resists going when I
see one. Craft shows are like re-occurring events and
the good ones turn up year after year at the same site
and develop these huge followings. We used to set our
calenders by a couple of them.
"Hey, Evelyn, would you and your Granddaughter like
to come on down for the weekend?"
No Dorthy, I am so sorry, the Pink Hippo is that weekend!"
Now to other people we might have seen a little nuts for
we passed up some pretty nice offers of trips and vacations
for they conflicted with some of our crafts shows but it
became like a family tradition to hit some of them every
year and going to those shows is one of the things I miss
most about spending the Summers with my Grandmother. Etsy
has served me well to help fill that void a little and had she
been alive I know without a shadow of a doubt she would love
Etsy just as much as I do. I also know it would have made
her last few years where she couldn't;t get out of bed much
more enjoyable for she could have live vicariously through
the shops there.
Now I often stroll through the shops when i get a chance
for it never ceases to amaze me some of the skills people have.
You can find some remarkable items and one of a kind pieces as
well as products I never knew you would be able to make at home.
I have been blown away more then once and have brought you a few
different stores from there but this next one sort of took me for
a loop for I didn't realize if you had some talent you could make
shoes at home. Looking back I feel silly for why wouldn't you be
able to? Shoe stores don't just pop up at malls completely developed
and big places like Reebok or Manolo Blahnik have to have gotten their
start somewhere and unless they have some rich friends who were willing
to take a chance and open a factory for them most likely that start
was in their own homes. But shoes? Wow, that is not like knitting
a scarf, shoes take some real work.
When I came across Wild Cubs on Etsy I was really, really impressed.
They reminded me of Robeez in their construction but only better.
When I say that, it is for two reasons, these are hand made and there for
a lot more attention to detail is paid. Each shoe gets that special touch
and love of their craft poured into its making. It shows in the end product
for the pair we received for review were put together so well even my dog
could not tear it apart and it just about broke my heart when she ran off
with it. It took all three of us almost two hours to get it back from her
and we had to pry it out of her mouth. No holes, no loose stitching and
not one sign of the trauma I know she had to have put that shoe through.
Now that speaks volumes to me for Boo is known to trash everything and has
gotten tearing her own toys up down to a science:
1. Toy comes home
2. You attempt to bring toy out of the bag and see a blur whiz by
3. You realize toy has been snatched already but stubby little dog
4. You go to play with toy and stubby little dog and grab one end
only to have it come off in your hands for she has already chewed
large holes in the toy in the 2 minutes it took you to locate her
after grab from bag.
When she grabbed my review shoes my heart sank for these are just the
right size for a Boo toy and I can understand her thinking it is for
her and as of late I have been having that problem with a lot of Rowans
things but she grabbed it right out of my hands before I even got to
look at the shoes and I was crying like a little school girl thinking
that was surely the end of them. But NO, they are put together so well
that not only were they still completely whole there was no damage at
all. I gave Boo the big long lecture on the shoe and she has not touched
them again since but when they are not on Rowans feet I am taking no
chances and putting them in her dresser drawer. Crazy Dog! Now she
did get her paws on a pair of Robeez and that is why I can firmly
say the shoes from Wild Cubs are better for her little pointy teeth went
through the Robeez like a hot knife through butter. She is lucky I had
bought them at a Garage sale and only paid a couple of bucks for if
these were right from Robeez and I paid the whopping price they ask
I would have duct Tapped her little mouth shut to Rowan was out of
the house, married and buying shoes for her own kids. I do almost feel
bad for the Pooch though for so many of Rowans things look like things
we have bought for her and she just doesn't get the attention she used
to. I am also happy Wild Cubs are made so great and stood up to the
little Puppy. Not only was the Leather thick enough to be durable it
was worked enough so it was soft and ply-able and moved with Rowans
feet. I spent a little time working with Leather when I was younger and
I know that she spends a lot of time getting it to be that soft and
flexible and still so durable. The second reason I think they are better
then Robeez is the price. Robeez are not a cheap shoe. I understand
they are leather and supposed to last and truth be told if the Robeez
I had bought did not meet up with the Pooch first I am sure they would
have lasted a long time but to buy a pair you are looking at 30 bucks
on up and that is if you can get them on sale. The Shoes from Wild
Cubs are 13.99!
WOW
WOW
WOW
Leather shoes, superb quality and design, tons of adorable styles. Able
to stand up to the Pooch and the Baby and fit like a dream all for
under 14 bucks.
Pinch me I am dreaming!
I received the Pink and Purple Pair with Guitars on them for
Review and they are just adorable. You guys know John is in a band
and Rowan is already a dancing fool so they just fit her personality
and when I was looking through their selection I realized a lot of them
would. They have my Skulls and you know I am going to get those
but also so many other styles for boys and girls and such lively items
too. Bright vivid colors that stand out and even boots to keep your little
one snug and warm in the winter. Such a great selection and such a
wonderful shoe it is only a matter of time before you find these everywhere
for when you make a product this good the word is sure to spread and
I am glad to be here at the start of the craze and even more glad that
I just happened to be killing some time on Etsy that day and came
across them. I just had to share with you!
The owner at Wild Cubs was a dream to work with and she is
offering to give one of my readers are pair of her shoes as well! To

Pediped Review

Alright, FASHIONS! Don't we talk about them often?
Well I can't help it and Momma needed to buy baby shoes
and went a little crazy doing so!I hit some sales and got
some pretty good deals in but really wanted some sassy new
spring styles for my little fashion plate. Okay, some Mommy ones
too but that is a horse of another color. Rowan is soon going to
have the chance to wear some get-ups other then long johns
and Jammie's for the Snow can't last forever and warm weather
is just around the bend. She has some really adorable outfits
I bought for her last year and I have been chomping at the
bit to let her wear them. One thing is different from last year
though, last year she was so tiny I didn't have to worry about
shoes for all she did was sleep and eat and that other thing!
This year she is dancing! Those Tootsies need to look good!

I have had the worst time finding shoes I like though. I
can't even believe that is coming out of my mouth for I
thought there wasn't a shoe out there that I would not wear.
The thing is there is a big difference between what looks good
on an adult and what looks good on a child. She needs cute and
sweet and not some strappy sandal with heels up to there! I also
do not want her to be in the same shoes as 3,412 other children
on the playground are wearing. I also want those little baby
feet to be safe for as busy as she is it is only a matter of time
before little miss happy feet gets into some sort of mischief.
The last thing I want, and please, tell me it is not to much to
ask for, is a little bit of durability and quality. I know children are
not in their shoes as long as adults but I swear, and I have
told you this before, the people who manufacture any children's
items do so with the least respect to durability and quality.
It is like since they know the kids will not be wearing it for
too long since kids grow like weeds they cut corners and make
a lack luster product. I want something my children can "Wear"
and I do not have to worry about it falling apart. I am so glad
I found Pediped.

Not only did they have the styles I loved, they have
quality items, real shoes, just like a shoe I would buy for
myself. Stitching you can see and holds, soles that can
be walked on and used, straps and laces that are not just
for show! Honest to goodness real leather and real attention
to details. I was sent a pair for review and they are just
killer! Perfect for a little girl for loads of uses and tons of
styles. This is a dress shoe that can just as well be worn
every day. Isn't that what a Mom wants with a little girl shoe?
We want them to look like a little Princess yet be able to
get down and play and run with the boys. We want them to
look like it took us hours to make them sooooooooo perfect
they could double as a little doll but still have their sense
of adventure and personality. I received a pair of Caroline in
white for review and these pretty much have to be the
best shoe ever! Simple slip on, Velcro that works and does
not loose its stick, beautiful style that can be paired with a
darling little sundress or hey, toss it with some Jeans and
a T-shirt and watch Miss Diva take the run way for these
are one of those styles that make the outfit not the other way
around. Pediped shoes are soft leather soles made with a
double layer so remember my griping up there about poor
quality, GONE, they dissolved my fears and not only gave me
good quality but hey, why stop there, let's double that just
in case. They even think of the comfort of those little tykes
who can't even form the words to tell you they are not so
comfy. Extra cushion? Can Pediped sign me up for a Mommy
pair for my shoes don't even have it that good and I pay a
whole heck of a lot more for my shoes then the reasonable
prices they have at Pediped. Now I know I seem a little bit
over excited here but you guys have no idea how hard I have
been searching. Spring is almost Sprung and I have a ton of
clothes I want to dress little Rowan in and I have been everywhere
looking for shoes to do it in. Andrew was a snap, HELLO, Boy!
All he needed was something on his feet and we could call it
a day. Now if I would have known about Pediped when I shopped
for Andrew I would have bought them for the Quality alone and
they have incredible styles for the boys but to be honest on my
part, I was so upset over not finding cute clothes for Andrew the shoes
were mute and as long as they were good for his feet I didn't care.
With Rowan and the vast amount of choices I have for her wardrobe
I am head of heels in love and I have to have shoes I am just
as excited about. I wanted a selection I could drool over and
Pediped has it for the girls and the boys.
Um, check list here!
1. Awesome Styles
2. Extra comfort
3. Quality!! Did I tell you about the quality! WOWZA!
4. They fit in my budget!
5. Durable!
6. Kid tested, Michelle approved!
Can't get better then that. So if you are looking for a Prince
or a Princess, Pediped has your style. If you demand the best,
what do you know, covered there too! I don't think I have to spell
it out for you guys and this review I absolutely love them and hope to
review for them again because my eye is going to be fixed on
their product line to Rowan is buying her own!

Heely's Review and Giveaway!

ZIpppppppppppppppppppppp
Zinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
Zoommmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Zipppppppppppppppppppppppp
Back and forth and round and round. Up and down the
side walk and all the way to school. That was my son the
first time he got a pair of Heely's. He wore his first pair
to death and I must admit, as a Mom, there was nothing
more funny then to sit on porch on a warm summer day
and watch him and his friends zip on by! Kids just love
these things and can't get enough of them. Andrew has
gone through 4 pair now and the last I bought in a size
12 Men's. Yes he is 16 and yes he still wears Heely's
and yes they make them in adult sizes! Why?
Because they are pure fun, that's why!

Even I have had my eye on a pair for I was a skating
Princess in my hey day and have a pair of skates I still
wear every once in a while. Heely's are the perfect thing
for someone like me who likes to take the kids up to
the park and skate on the tennis courts for it is about
a mile away and my little tootsies would be sore if I
wore my plain old skates all that way to the park. With
Heely's I can just pop in the wheels when I get there.

What do you mean you don't know what a Heely is?

Where have you been, they are everywhere and they
are only the coolest shoe ever. Says Mom! If I let
the kids tell you it would be more like RAD! BOMB!
That's Hot! Or is that just Paris Hilton? Heely's have
literally "popped" up everywhere you look! To explain
what a Heely is to you is simple. You take a Roller Skate
or Skate Board and then a Tennis Shoe and add a little
bit of a Jack in the Box twist and you have a Heely. They
are some super stylish fashionable and dang popular
Tennis shoes. Then they have a wheel that you can
"Pop" in or "Pop" out at will that turns your everyday
in-Vogue sneaker into a roller skate. The wheel goes in
the heel and you just lean back a little and roll! When you
are not using them you pop the bottom back and and keep
your wheels in a handy dandy travel back and you are off
and running. Literally! Your kids will clean their room
spotless every day for months with the mear hint that if
they do they will get some Heely's. At least that is how
it works with Andy! A few weeks ago I was once again
browsing their selection for I already discovered they have
them in adult sizes and I was wondering how small they
ran for with Rowan getting ready to walk soon I know it
won't be long before she is also ready to roll. You know she
is going to want some with Big Brother zipping on by around
her. I went to their site and first word out of my mouth is
"Wow' for they have some of their new line posted and
I was delighted to see more feminine styles for I love all
things that scream girl and they have us little ladies covered
in every way this year! I love pink and the Brooklyn rocks
it and the Street Hi is right behind. They have every kind
that your kids could want and some more subtle styles
for us adults who like to put on a smooth front then
go nuts at the park! There is also a Pro-Model for the
serious Heelers! Andrew likes to think he is an all-star
but at the park I have seen some kids that look like they
were born with these things attached to their feet. Things
that they can do defy gravity. While searching I found that
you can get a Heely's in a size one, child's, so Rowan will
be rolling around before long and I learned several other
things about Heely's I will share with you in a minute
for I never took the time to really check them out before
because with Andy he was old enough to tell me what he
wanted to a T and I just followed suit. I was wondering since
I have been doing this review thing for you guys for a while
now, how a Heely would stand up compared to another shoe?
Before I started weeding out the trash out there and posting
all sorts of good things for you guys, so unlike me and the
years I bought trash due to lack of knowledge, you would
not have to suffer the same fate, I never looked at details. Now
when I shop a huge laundry list of things go through my head
and I am pretty much dissecting things in the store for from
this day forward I will always get the best product my money
can buy. So I say: Self, you never really looked at a pair
up close and personal for Andrew is out the door with his
before the box is even out of the bag. Isn't it time!
I wrote to them and told them my saga and Heely's rolled
me away with their kindness and eagerness to let me and
my readers know that there shoe is not only as good as any
other tennis shoe on the market they have perks too!

I was sent a pair for review and unfortunately they are too
small for me and Rowan is too young so I borrowed a
friend of mines daughter to do the test. Before I gave them
to her I had some stuff I wanted to do. I put a mark on the sole

to check for wear and also the wheel. I wanted to see for
Jenna is a hyper little diaper and I know these would be
Rollin around a lot and I wanted to see just how they held
up. Lets see, I got them Saturday and dropped them off and
then back this afternoon, so 4 or 5 days of steady wear,
and a lot of wear for I promised her another pair if she wore
these to death for me, I got them back. They looked new. In fact
I didn't even bother with a before and after for you really

could not tell. Now the Wheels have marks from the pavement
but nothing that I would call wear. You can't take any shoe
outside and then say it was never worn. Outside leaves a
mark. The Heely's looked great though and I thought about
Andy's. I replace his about every year in a half and for every
day shoes I replace them once every three months. Now he
does not wear them much in the winter but come warmer
months he wears them daily and that isn't too shabby.
My final word on durability of wear, they rock! ( It has to
be said, and ROLL!)

I wanted to see how they held up for cleaning next. I
removed the wheel and the cover plate and tossed them

in the Washer, now once again, I will tell you, I do not
check instructions on items I wash. There is no point
for even if something says Dry Clean only, handle with
silk gloves or touch at your own risk, I still wash it for
at my house everything makes it in the laundry sooner
or later. It is just a fact of life and I like to know before
hand if that will be the last time I see it. The Heely's
made it through the wash fine, better then fine, even
the little bit of street wear washed away. Now I won't
promise you a dryer for I have a fear of putting anything
other then clothes in a dryer for pliable things like
sneakers tend to distort with heat and even I won't risk

that. But washer, spin cycle away! I also got them muddy
in the yard and then took a bleach spray bottle ( the pre-
made kind not straight) and they wiped clean like
a champ! No wonder why Andrew doesn't rip through
these like he does his Converse and Van's. Heely's are
made to last!
So what did I learn here?
1. Heely's wear as well if not better then a standard shoe.
2. Heely's clean up perfect!
3. Heely's come in sizes from 12 to 12, children to adult.
4. They are an absolute blast!
5. I bribed a 6 year old and now need to order a pair myself!
6. They Rock ( and ROLL) it just had to be said again.

I also had a chance to check out their web site and
they have some really neat and cool tips for skating and
a guide for learners so soon you can be rolling around with
the best of them. The Learn to skate guide has basics, tricks,
grinds and stalls and verts ( um, not sure what they were but
the boy said yeah, cool! So I am assuming its really good!)
and they also have Team Heely's with info on teams near
you so you can see some of the amazing feats they can do
with these little ditty's and also your own little amazing feat
makers can join a team too! Now I may be bored watching
Andrew at the Skeet Range but this, this, I could really get into!
So if you live here, Russia or Brazil, Heely's are here to
stay, so get with it Mom and Dad and join in the fun! They
are also a great gift for your little Valentine or even Dad to
get his butt off the couch! Final word is what guys?
You got it, they ROCK AND ROLL!

Heely's has truly been great to work with and said
they hope my readers liked learning about them just
as much as I loved doing the review. To make the pot
a little sweeter they have offered to give one of my
readers a pair of their own! One winner will just let me
know what size and they will be Rollin away with the
prize! To enter head over to their site and take a look
around then come back here and post what the coolest
thing was in a comment. The contest will start tonight
and run to March 16th at Midnight!

Tie Buddies Review and Giveaway

Now I have to tell you guys this review was fun! It
wasn't meant to be, it really is a useful product but
we had a lot of fun doing it. The only thing Rowan can
do with shoes right now is put them in her mouth or untie
the laces and John's Nephews were crazy busy due
to the Holidays so it was Andrew and I on this one. We
both thought we knew how to tie shoes and emphasis on
the word thought!

If you were to look at either of our sneakers what
you see is a mess of knots for we both have the bad habit of
slipping them on and off without undoing the laces ever. What
happens to the shoe is they become all out of shape and distorted
and any support the shoe would have offered is gone. I need the
support for I have the worst feet in the world from years after
years of being on my feet 10 to 16 hours a day running a
restaurant and Andrew has Fred Flintstone feet that end up
turning any shoe into a Flip Flop in its desperate bid to even
stay on his feet. I wish I could show you a diagram of his feet
and when he is napping with his shoes off this
summer I will snap a picture for you because a Kama Kazi
attack is the only way I will get the shot. For now, just picture
a foot as wide as it is long, a peg! Any who, at almost 41 and 16
we thought we knew how to tie a shoe and before we could make
this work for us we had to face the fact we stunk at it and had to
forget what we thought we knew. Otherwise our skills were so
bad all we ended up with was a jumbled mess. Once we realized
that we were out skilled by thousands of Kindergartners
everywhere we had no problem for then we went with the flow
instead of trying to make the Tie Buddies Follow our lazy
excuse of a shoe tying effort!

What the Tie Buddies really does in the simplest
sense is give you handles where you need them to help
you grab your laces in the right place and makes it easier
to manipulate the shoe lace where the only possible way
to lace them is the right way. That was where Andrew and
I had the problems, we kept trying to force the wrong way!
Once we let go and went with it we had them laced in a snap.
They are perfect for clumsy fingers ( we had them) and if you
put them on like in the directions you would be able to just talk
your child through the process for it is so simple! I remember
with Andrew his Dad ended up teaching him ( see how fast I
passed the buck here) for I was so frustrated that he didn't
understand my explanation techniques. I was the Bunny, Dad
was the Eel but when he didn't understand or follow I was
stuck. What does the Bunny do when he can't figure out how to
run around the tree? Well before I shot the bunny and made
a hossenfeffer stew I sent him to the sea with his Dad
where he got the job done but abet in a sloppy way that
we have used all these years. You have no idea how many
laces were so mangled that I ended up cutting them off
when we were going someplace with other people and a quick
glance at Andrews shoes promised Embarrassment and I asked
him to re-tie them neat for the occasion.

I plan on saving this Little gadget for Rowans right
of passage and really wish I had it with Andrew for something
so simple would have saved me some major Grey Hairs
and frustration. It is also under my heading of I should have
thought of that for it is also genius in its perfect simplicity.
What is best is it works and anything that takes the frustration
out of daily life and leaves you more time for family time
is a win in my book! Tie Buddies is one of the great
little items that won't break the bank, makes a daunting task
easy as pie and help your little tyke develop Independence and
the feeling of self satisfaction at completing a task on their own.
The biggest win, you children will have shoes that don't look
like they have been tied by a neanderthal and instead turn out perfect
every time!

Tie Buddies is going to share the love with my readers and
is going to give one of you a Tie Buddie of your own. To enter
just head over and take a gander then come back here and
let me know what you have learned. The contest will start
tonight January 6th and run to February 12th at Midnight!

Kidorables Review and Contest

         I am a puddle jumper!
I admit it, no problem, stand tall and admit my flaws. I am not
talking about 30-(Wow it kills me to type this number) 40 years
ago either. I am talking about the last time it rained! YUP! Every time
I am outside after a nice summer shower something comes over me
when I see a puddle. I can't help but to run up and slam my foot
right in the middle so the water goes everywhere.
   Call it a compulsion.
John has learned to walk on the other side of the parking lot when
it has just rained. He is tired a little water marks all over him for the
next hour or so after I hit a good one. It takes everything I have to
not do it when I am out with people I barely know but my friends
are well aware of my "Habit" and also keep their distance. Now
my son, all I can say is it must be hereditry for he does it too.
When he and I are walking the dog together after a shower it is
a rush to see who gets to the puddle first. I have worked hard on
my acting skills for that is the only chance I have to one up him
anymore. I walk out the door and do my best to appear pre-
occupied and not interested in no stinken puddle. When I get
close enough,
BAM!
The little bugger got me again! Now the issue I am having is
Rowan. If I can't beat a 16 year old who doesn't even have
enough energy to take out the garbage to a puddle how am
I supposed to be a little girl with endless energy? Truth is I
don't know what I am going to do when the Curse of the
Puddles" gets a hold of her. You know it is gonna for its
a family condition. Genetics, what can I say? I am not
getting any younger here so I need an edge. After all
with my luck it is going to be 2 against 1 here.
Should I trip her and make a break for it?
Is that too mean?
Chances are I can make it look like an accident, she
is pretty new with those legs ya know!
I could dive head first in like a baseball player but
that risks injury to myself and I am not as young as
I used to be. ( Don't laugh now, neither are you!)
Maybe I could bribe the boy to work for me?
Get the Dog in on it?
Oh well, I have a few months to think up a game
plan but before I can put the plan in action I
have to buy some protective gear. Not for
the boy, he is too cool at 16 to wear the slicker,
and not for me, I already have one. The Baby,
she is going to need a full suit for I plan on getting
her good. I thought I should make up a list and
start getting everything ready for Spring will
be here before I know it and that is puddle
season!
My list should include:
A raincoat
An umbrella
Rain boots
Knee pads-in case I go with the trip her option.
Oh, and I would also like all these items to be cute
for I may be willing to sacrifice her knee's for a victory
but there is no way I am going to sacrifice her style!
You would think it would be easy to find my list
for most kids clothes are cute as a button to start
with but I had a lot of trouble. Look I said cute, not
Big Bird yellow that is so bright it blinds me.
( blinding the opponent should be against the rules
in Puddle Jumping anyways!) I must have checked
out 20 different stores and had no luck what so ever.
Then I started on line and this was where I struck
gold.

Eureka, I found it! Kidorables! A one stop
Puddle Jumping haven! They have everything you
need there ( except the knee pads but she can borrow
my sons!) Kidorable is like outerwear heaven! and so
cute too. Think of it like I do.
All Seasons
All Smiles!
Everything comes in themed sets that you can mix and
match if you want for they are sold Ala Cart. I have
a few that I find to cute for words and know that after
I get the knee pads I am going to have to go back and
get some more. I was sent the Lucky Cat for review but
I am telling you right now I will be back real soon for the
Ladybug. I will say I don't think its fair that Rowan will be
wearing a Lady bug or any other type of out door critter
when we play Puddle Jump for isn't dressing up as
something else some sort of camouflage?
The Cheater!
Kidadorable has winter items to for when I peg those,
I mean toss a snowball gently at those little darlings of
mine. Hats, scarfs and gloves will keep them warm
during all sorts of Snow day fun! There are other
goodies to go with the their theme you picked out
likes Towels and shirts but I gotta say the raincoat
I got was so awesome I don't think anything else
could top it. It came in a little plastic travel bag that
I am sure they didn't think of is perfect for the beach
too for I hate tossing wet suits in the car and even more
then that I hate tossing them in grocery bags or any
bag you can't see through for I don't know about you
but I forget it is there until I smell that tell tale wet
dog smell of wet clothes left to dry in a bad place.
Anyway, I ramble. The Raincoat also came with
its own hanger and I think I loved the hanger as much
as the coat. It was painted to match the outfit and wooden
and to die for! I thought everything on the site was too.
What her items made me think of is some expansive little
shooo shooo boutique that you can only afford to look in the
window and wish that some day you could buy your
child a pair of socks from there. The funny part is that
on this site you can afford everything and only look like
you went to the shooo shooo shop. If I were you when
people run up to gush about your little ones outfit and break
down and ask where you got it I would simply smile at them
and say, "You know!"

or the reason, Wee Squeak has a shoe
just for your little one. The fact they
squeak is a their hallmark and other
then the Beibi line all of their shoes
include one. Best of all you can remove
it if your child happens to be squeaking on
your last nerve.
