Belle Baby Carrier Review and Giveaway!

AH, Spring is in the air and it is time
to fling open the windows and let in the Sunshine.
Let the dog out for hours and worry about the muddy
paw prints another day. Get those snow suits and toss
them in a Cedar box and break out the Spring jackets
and suit up the family. It is time for a walk! Get up
and move people! Rowan has already been out of the
house every day this week. John came back late Sunday
night and has given me a much needed break. Other then
a stray weekend here and there since Thanksgiving I have
pretty much been a single Parent this entire Winter. When
Rowan was teething I didn't think I was going to make it
and thank the stars that slowed a bit. Four in a week was
terminal on my back. Now she has two on the way but
it is not nearly as bad, though still a lot of fussy crabby
yuck yuck going on. Add in my Mothers Heart issues and
I thought once again I was going to crash so that I almost
sang like Mary Poppins when John walked in the house.
The last couple of days I had some issues to catch up
on at home but now I am ready to catch up the site and
that is long overdue. I must admit I want to be outside
with them for John and Rowan are going out about 4 times
a day with the dog right now and here I am stuck in the house
but in another of couple of weeks I will grab the laptop and
hit the patio. I did however get a chance to do this next review
and for that I had to go outside! Gosh, sometimes it sucks to
work other times I am truly blessed for I get to smell the
fresh air.
The Belle Baby Carrier had made my day by letting me
hit the pavement! Thanks Belle, before I even get to the
nuts and bolts of the review I am already grateful. I was
sent a carrier in black and let me first tell you about the
design. I wasn't sure I would be able to do the review for
a little while for Rowan's teeth caused me a lot of pain and
it was pain I had no choice but to endure. You just don't
tell a toddler, sorry, no comfort today for it really aggravates
your Mothers Rheumatoid Arthritis in her spine. The fact my
Neck and Shoulders are all jacked up when I fell last fall
made it even more difficult. I have been trying to mend the
last couple of weeks and have been postponing due to that
fact but when I felt that warm air I pretty much said dang
the consequences and lets do this thing. I tossed on the
Belle and was already prepared for the wave of pain in
simply putting it on but I didn't feel a thing. Lucky me!
Now for sure I expected to feel it when I added Rowan
for she has grown like a weed this Winter and I am sure
she is topping the scales close to 20 pounds right now.
Here came the Belle Design to the rescue. Belle is made
for comfort and they did away with the extra bulk and
brought you a stream lined design that includes cross-over
straps with high-end closed cell foam for comfort. The
reason they can due away with all the extra padding and
supports is they use the same materials found in those
super heavy High End Mountaineering Backpacks that are
made for a big load. A baby is a piece of cake in comparison
and this makes it more comfortable for you all around.
An independent waist belt brings the weight down to your hips
and off your shoulders so your back is spared as well.
With the Steel Rings you and your child are supper secure and
all in a lightweight, simple design that makes it a snap to
use. Baby can face in or out and Rowan, adventurous spirit that
she is wants to see the world. Your baby is in a natural ergo-
nomic position that protects their spine and leaves them comfy
and able to enjoy the ride. They also offer a removable head
support panel that is perfect for your sleeping baby.
John took Rowan out earlier in the day and he is a
totally different size then me and I hate changing the size
of gadgets and gizmo's and thought it would be a huge pain
and I was delighted at how simple it is to adjust. Rowan had
no problem snuggling in and we were soon on our way and
loving it.
"Ohhhhhhhhh! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh!" MAAAAAAAAAAAA!"
That must have been a car rumbling down in front of us!"
"MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! WAhhhhhhhhh!"
Lucky me, I got to see a firetruck!
The Belle Carrier made it simple for me to enjoy the
experience with her and the cross back design and that
belt made it even more so for me since I didn't feel her
weight at all, even with the constant bouncing a jiggling she
was doing as she narrated the trip. I fully expected to let John
be the one using the carriers this Summer for as
lovely as it is to be able to have your child so close
and I totally agree with Baby wearing and the bonding it
affords a parent with their child I didn't think my back would
make the trip. I figured I would be the one who would be
stuck with the stroller and have to push her everywhere and
also not be able to take the Dog. Have you ever tried to
push a stroller and keep a 12 pound bundle of energy who
acts like she has been stored in a metal cage the entire
Winter every single time you open the door to the outside
world? It isn't fun and next to imposable but I believed I
was doomed to leave her at home. What a delightful surprise
to be able to leave the house with the Belle and leave the
old ball and chain at home, well one of them, the Dog I
had to bring with me! I walked for about 30 minutes and
that was just long enough to wear out both of the little
ones, furry and funny and bring them both home for a nap.
I thought I was going to be just as beat as they were but
I still felt like I could go another 30 and did not feel the
impact of the carrier at all. Their design works like a charm
and that isn't a normal back speaking, that is a down right
cranky one that normally protests acts as simple as picking
up a tennis shoe! Way to go Belle!
All of Belle's products are made right here in the good
old U S of A and in Colorado to boot. Remember when I
said they were created with durable, tough, equipment that
helps keep Mountain Climbers and Hikers wearing their gear
in comfort all day long? I can't think of a more suitable
place to manufacture items that you know are not only going
to work they are made to last then in Colorado. Home of
the Mountains! Smartly made and tough as can be your Belle
is going to last way longer then even the most active child's
energy level! Belle offers a large selection of styles so
you can look as fashionable as a runway model and don't
forget they also have some pretty dandy choices in the
way of Organics as well! You can find their items on line
or at a large selection of retail stores and Belle also
has an extremely informative web site with a great section
on the benefits of Baby Wearing and user support as
well as a blog and anything else you could need. Connect
to other Baby Wearers and share some war stories or
just keep up to date with currant events. Belle made my
first day of Spring one I will remember and Rowan already
wants to do again, or as she would say,
"WahhhhhhhhhhhhEhhhhhhhhhhhhh Ohhhhhhhhhh!"

Vemayca Cosmetic Bag Review and Giveaway!

I have had the chance to review a lot of different
brands of make-up since last fall. It has been like
a bonanza of make-up since I started this Mineral make-up,
whats that big deal kick. I am delighted that I can now tell
the difference between good and bad and have found some
spectacular brands and I am really grateful to the places that
have given me that chance to learn about their products.
But now what? I have some great stuff and no where to
put it. Well, no where I would want to put it. I have my
favorites and would love to be able to toss them in my
purse and take them with me. I am on the go so much
right now that I pretty much need too but I run into two
issues there. One is I don't have a bag at the moment
that affords me enough room and the other is I don't have
a bag at the moment that I would not be Thoroughly embarrassed
to use in public. Yuck and Yikes, I have so dropped the
ball in that area and I am normally so careful when it comes
to what I wear and how I look. I am also enough of a
fashion maven to know that your accessory's and details
can also tell the world what you are about and if I whip
out any of the sloppy bags I have right now I would feel
like a lazy bum and a fool at that. Lucky, and boy
once you see this beauty you will know how lucky I
am, I got the chance to review a bag that would make
the stars shine a little brighter for it is stunning!
The Vemayca Cosmetic bag is a work of art when you
compare it to other bags. This has got to be the softest
bag I have ever felt and I swear I could not help but to rub it
against my face. The bag is simple in design but complex
in beauty. There is the large center pouch and on each side
a working pocket that is opened and closed by a zipper that
looks delicate but in truth is durable and the zipper itself
is of a great quality for I opened and closed this baby
like a woman possessed for a pet peeve of mine is running
across a zipper that does not work. The side pockets
are lined with a satin lining but the center pocket is the
masterpiece for it contains a unique removable Soft Pearl
Liner that when dirty can be taken out for cleaning or
replaced completely. Hey, this bag will never look worn,
never look old and will always provide you with the
same glamorous feel you had the first time you took it
out and used it! The lining is made to be light so you
have no problem locating the items inside as well as
coming with flat bottom that is as equally useful for
there is nothing I hate more then setting it on a counter
in a bathroom when I am out and having it tip and chasing
a lipstick all over a strange bathroom floor! The flat bottom
assures it will stand up-right and is a snap to use! I took
this out for a test run and did just that, set it on a counter
at the restaurant I was at. We were at a busy place where
women line up to vie for the mirror and I left that restroom
in a daze from all the complements I received. There is nothing
a lady likes more then when another lady asks where
a certain item came from.
The Cosmetic bag that Vemayca makes need not only
be limited to a cosmetic bag either. You can use it for
a multitude of reasons such as or travel or keeping prescriptions
or certain baby items you don't want lost in the normal chaos
of a diaper bag mix. Put your dedicates in it for I can't think
of something better to store your softest most delicate items
in then something as soft and delicate feeling as this
bag. You can use it for the Beach, or school or to
keep craft items in or I have been using it to store some
of my favorite pieces of Jewelry. The bag is as flexible as
it is beautiful. The designer Veronica is just one of those
ladies who likes style in every part of her life and loves
for it to be affordable for the masses and was just fed up
one day with the bottom of her bag and the thought of having
to replace one again. She did us all a favor by coming
up with the design for the Vemayca for it is truly lovey
and a sight to behold on its own. Now I have a lot of
bags, they are all full and they all came from some pretty
high end name brand places but none of them compete with
this bag and if someone told me that for a fraction of what
I paid for them I could have had this I would never have
believed it to I saw for myself. The other thing, all these
bags that I have that I have paid through the roof to get,
well I have taken them places, people have seen them,
it isn't like I kept them in the dark and never have I received
a complement on my cosmetic bag. Ever. With the bag I
received from Vemayca I not only had one complement I
had several and not only the one time but every time
I have used it in public. Even last week in a doctors office
I received a complement. In fact to date I have not taken it
out in front of people and not had someone tell me how
much they admired it! Beauty, style, functionality and
affordability all come together in a Vemayca cosmetics
bag. You will love it!
One of my readers will get a chance to fall in love
with it first hand! One lucky guy or gal can walk away
with one of these beauty's and all they have to do is
visit the site and take a look around and then come back
here and post what they have learned in a comment. The
contest will start tonight and run to Midnight on April 30th

bECO Giveaway!

Alright there guys, now I know you know that I
know that you know we all know I just did a review
for bECO a little while ago. Well I just love that
carrier and could not stop raving about it. Come on
over to my house and talk to my friends and neighbors
and even the mail man and UPS guy and they will
tell you have I have been going on and on about it.
You know me, give me something good and now you
are stuck listening to me ramble on. I just can't help it.
When I like a product I have to spread the news. Now
the mail man is doing some sort of Mission Impossible
thing to stay out of my site right now for he is like 60
and could care less how great I think any item let alone
a Baby Carrier is. I don't think he appreciated the
demonstration I did on Rowans stuffed animal where I
tried to help him understand how the bECO Carrier was
kind to this part of my back and that part and so on
and so forth. Hey, we were snowed in last week and
I take my captive audience where I can get it. Lucky
for me the UPS guy and I go way back and for a couple
of cookies he heard me out and suggested I tell the
people over at bECO how I felt before I ambushed the
FedEx guy for he is not nearly as friendly and isn't a
fan of cookies and I had no time to bake a Pineapple
Upside Down Cake. So I did!

Now they might have gotten the mad stalker vibe from me at
bECO but I had to tell them how happy I was. Rowan is putting
on the pounds and she also has the nerve to expect me to
still carry her and truth be told my back "WAS" lodging some
pretty loud complaints. The fit and comfort I got from my bECO
Carrier has shhhhhhhhhhh'ed my back and come Spring I might
even take up jogging for this is the first time since Rowan hit
double digits on the scale I have been able to cart her around
without having to take a bath in Ben Gay! So with the advice
of my Cookie Loven UPS man I sent them an email or ten
and let them know. They were super to me and might I say,
very patient and offered to let me give a Lenka to one of you
guys! I didn't even have to send them cookies! Now you
guys should remember the details but I will stick the link
for the review for you in case you need a refresher, hey, test on
Monday guys! I am tickled pink to be able to have
this giveaway! As you guys know bECO is one of the top
brands today offering style, support, adaptability and comfort
and I was lucky to be able to do a review for them because
with my back I need more then just "another" carrier. When I
first toted Rowan around in a carrier it was an old one I had
around the house and I just dusted it off thinking any old carrier
would work. I had that impression for a couple of reasons but
soon found out I had been living with antiquated ideas when it
came to baby wearing. With Andrew I would not call it main stream
and the carrier I had was simply used for outdoor activity's when
a stroller was not possible on the terrain. Now we know a lot more
of the benefits and using one has become a part of life for many
parents. Now we know wearing your baby aids with:
Helping Babies Grow and Thrive
Reduces Infant Mortality, SIDS
Soothes Crying and Colic
Encourages Mental Development
Reduces Incidences of Post-Partum Depression
Better Bonding = Easier Discipline
and is also fun and a great way to get out and move with your
child and enjoy the day. Increased time means increased strain on
your back though and my relic just wasn't going to make the grade
with my ouchies and my frequent walks with Rowan and the Pooch. It
wasn't more then a week on the calendar before I was out and
searching for a better one and I took quiet a few strolls around the
block before I settled on carrier that was right for me. Don't get
me wrong, I went on a lot of nice test drives with other brands but
bECO was the one who won me over in the end. Not only was there
style and when I say style I mean fashion sense, my cup of tea
they also were perfect for my aching body and before I made my
bECO such a large part of my life I even went as far as to take mine
to my doctor and Physical therapist. The results, my PT who just
got married over the Summer had me jotting down the web site
information because they were in the process of trying for a baby and
she wanted one for herself. My Doc let me know that she thought
the large, secure waist belt and shoulder straps would be perfect
for me and allow me the support I need. Her only concern was I
wear sunscreen in case I lost track of time while I was outside
enjoying the day! SOLD! And you guys will be too once you
get a chance to try it! I have pretty much told the guys over
at bECO I will be back for more until I get a chance to try
everything in their arsenal, I was that impressed! Besides, when
I saw the bECO mini in the pony I knew Rowan had to have
one too!

Now you guys can get your hands on one and one of my readers
is going to win a bECO Lenka all of their own. To enter just head
over to their site and take a look around then come back here and
post something you have learned in a comment. The contest will
start tonight and run to Midnight on April 12th. You will be wearing
your baby just in time for spring!
USA and 18 and older can enter daily and the winner
will be contacted by email and have 72 hours to

Ergo Baby Review and Giveaway!

I know you guys have all heard about Ergo Baby.
They are huge and known for their Quality of design and
funky, stylish patterns and functionality and features.
Even me, a person who was totally surprised when she
found out she was pregnant and thought 16 years ago she
was done having children and knew as much about what's
new in the Baby market as I do brain surgery have heard
of them. They are known by all as one of the premier
brands when it comes to a design that is not only comfy
for baby but also promotes an ergonomic design that supports
the baby's spine and offers the healthiest position for
baby's hips while they are carried. That is something
often overlooked but trust me folks it is a good thing.
Now I have had a lot of questions about Ergo mailed
to me so I guess it is about time I get off my duff
and do a review for you guys!

The Ergo Baby Carrier I received can be used for
both a front and a back carrier and is very easy to
convert. They recommend you use the front carrier
for Children aged newborn to 6 months and it was nice
to see that information in the guide for I really didn't
know that. I have done a review for another carrier
not that long ago and they were super kind to work with
and it was my first time using these new fangle designs
and I didn't know a thing about them. They were kind
enough to walk me through all the up-grades and advancements
that have came along in the last 16 years but I forgot to
ask that question. When I spoke to the people at Ergo
I thought I was now an old hat and didn't need to ask
any questions so I skipped that part. When I saw the
age range in the guide I did an "Oh, I could have had a
V-8," thump to my head and was super happy they thought
to include that in their guide for honestly I never would
have known and one day when Rowan was 2 or 3 I would have
tossed her in that way and with my luck we both would have
taken a tumble. I even did research on baby Carriers, a lot,
in the last 6 months for when I do a review for you guys
I like to be informed and still didn't see that anywhere so
hey, let's file that away as good to know! Another cool
thing about the guide, and yes, I can't believe I am
raving about a guide and not talking about a carrier
but it impressed me here, what can I say. Any who,
another good thing about the guide is it shows you
different techniques and diagrams them for putting your
child into the carrier. I did know the different ways
for insertion but they were in my head and by verbal
or written descriptions but never in a pictured, step by
step, guide that shows me what I am doing in an easy to
follow format. People like me, with a head that can
flop off at any moment for it truly isn't securely attached,
need that extra little ump of a picture tutorial and
I was very appreciative they had it for me. John is
another story, he just doesn't get things, period,
and Ergo will have to just send a person over to walk
him through it, for if he doesn't catch on the first
time I try to walk him through it I might just end
up trying to shove him in the carrier and we don't want
that to make the news!
Ergo has two designs, they offer the "Standard" and
the "Sport" and both come with a variety of features
that make their carriers super efficient and comfortable
for both Mom and Dads and Baby. They offer a bevy of
perks that make them an excellent choice for people
on the go and let's not forget they have your baby's health
at the heart of the matter and that is always a good thing
no matter what version you are looking at. I was sent a
standard carrier for review and it offers such enmity's
as padded shoulder straps and chest straps, a side release
buckle and webbing straps for shoulder strap adjustment
and a padded waist belt that buckles in the front and
something I really need for with my back I need all
the breaks I can get here! They also have a storage pouch
to toss some of baby's items in or yours for those long
summer walks and a really neat thing I was totally impressed
with, a sleeping hood. The Sleeping hood adjusts for length
to fit you growing baby and was a super cool thing to add for
I have told you guys about Rowans aversion to the sun and
the fact when just one little ray gets anywhere near her eyes
she is screaming like a Banshee. For her, this means falling
asleep in any carrier is just about imposable and with Ergo
and this hood, when she starts rubbing her eyes, plop, goodnight
Irene! You have got to love that! The fact you can just toss
the whole thing in the washer when she gets Baby gunk* all
over it is just icing on the cake.
Ergo also carries accessories such as the Infant
insert, the Front Pouch and Back Pouch and the Sucking Pads,
um, right now, Rowan, Teething, Need I say more? Those are
a great option for I have to wash everything around this house
over and over again because everything Rowan picks up is a
Sucking Pad right now. They also carry a Changing Pad and
A Weather Protector and that is also something we need here
for their can be Tsunami Winds outside and I swear John will
say, "It is only a drizzle!" and take that Baby out anyways.
If I make him use this, one of two things will happen, he will
either not want to use it and give up on the idea or will use
it and either way is a win for me because I know Rowan will
be safer. Ergo has also went green and offer Organic carriers
and have even thought of your Baby's older sister or brother
with Carriers for them to put their Dolls and Teddy's in. Bibs
are also a great item from Ergo. Another thing I enjoyed was
the Website itself for it is packed with information to help
you on your path. Resources and Ask the Doctor are both
some great links to help out first time parents of people like
me who have had a decade or two between children and need
some help to get back in the fray. Every way you look
at it, Ergo goes out of their to make your life and you
Babies more comfortable, safer and allows you better
health and is a great investment and a welcome product
to have for your child.

Ergo was kind enough to offer to give one of my
readers a carrier of their own. To enter just head over
to Ergo's site and take a look around then come back here
and post what you learned in a comment. The contest will start
tonight and run to midnight on March 31st.

Sleepy Wrap Review and Giveaway!

When Andrew was a baby there wasn't much of
a fuss over what was right or what was wrong when
it came to carrying him. The only Baby carriers they had
then looked like a booster seat with back pack straps
on it and was not very comfortable for Mom or Dad and
I am 100 percent positive couldn't be very comfy for
Baby either. Still, Babies love to be close to their parents
so it was a hit and it wasn't long to the market was
flooded with different types of carriers and now with Rowan
I have my choice of literally hundreds of different styles.
There is also a considerable debate on what way is the
best.
To carry your baby in a wrap?
To carry your baby in a sling?
To carry your baby in a front or back carrier?
People are all up in arms about why it is important
or why it is detrimental or why why why? Those for point
out that people have worn their babies since the start of
time and it is a natural process, those against say just because
something has been done forever does not mean it is right.
There is even a debate among the different sides amongst
themselves on what brand is better, who's sling works the
best and what wrap makes baby the happiest and who's back
carrier is best for Mom and Dad. It is enough to drive
anyone mad and drop the whole thing all together but
the fact remains, baby likes to go places with their
Moms and Dads and no matter what side of the debate you
end up on we are still doing something for babies benefit,
not to squabble among ourselves. I decided to not decide.
I thought instead of coming out for or against I would just
let you know my experiences with different carriers and
how they worked for me and let you make up your own
mind if that is what would work in your own house. I
am also not going at this blind and before I bring you
an item I am checking for safety reports and consumer
forums for no matter what side of the fence you grow
your grass on we all want that grass to be safe!
I got the chance to do a review for Sleepy
Wrap and some of their new product line. The Organic
Sleepy Wrap. Since I have never used a wrap much
less did a review for one I thought it would be a great
time to learn some of the benefits of a wrap. Sleepy
Wrap has a great article and gives some very compelling
reasons that a wrap is a great thing to have. From their
site I learned such interesting facts such as:
1. no pressure points on your baby -no pressure on
developing hips or spines like other hard baby carriers
which place pressure on your baby’s pelvis
2. grows with you and your baby -it's optimal for infants
yet you may continue to carry your baby with this wrap
baby carrier as long as you are both comfortable
3. no baby is too small -the baby wrap is designed for the
tiniest of babies
4. ideal for kangaroo care - premature infants thrive when
wrapped in a Sleepy Wrap
5. evenly distributes the weight of your baby-much more
supported than carrying with your arms, on one shoulder,
or your hip
6.perfect for traveling -compact and great on uneven
terrain or crowded places

There are also a lot more reasons listed on the site
and further details and it is a great way to educate your
self on the benefits and I recommend reading it. Some of
these really pertained to me and I was very interested in
the weight distribution for with my back I am always looking
for ways to make the day a little more comfortable. The
Kangaroo care was also of great interest for both of my
children were born early and though I was fortunate and
skirted any health issues I feel for those who were not
as lucky. Rowan was only a week so she was considered
full term and though she spent an extra week in NICU she
was hearty enough where she did not need special care
when she came home. Andrew could have turned out really
bad save the fact healthy large children run in my family.
Though healthy pregnancy's are a problem for us and I had
Eclampsia with both my children they seem to thrive in the
weight department for Andrew was born at 8 Months ( 34
weeks) and already weighed almost 8 pounds. Had he
been born full term I would have had a monster but I am
glad he was so healthy for 34 weeks is pretty early, more so
in those days and I could have faced some life long difficulties
with him and it would have been nice to have the option of
a Sleepy Wrap back then. The fact that a wrap can't be
too big or too small is also something I love for Rowan went
from 5 pounds after she lost over a pound the first day to
the 18 and a half she weighs now, just over 7 months later.
The Sleepy Wrap could have grown with her from then to now!
My experience with the wrap was really positive. Rowan
is a Mommas girl and though she loves spending time
with John once she sees me it is all over. If I want a
break I have to pass her off then leave the room for the
minute she hears my voice or lays eyes on me it is all
arms out and if I ignore that subtle sign tears start to flow.
She does not care what we are doing she just needs me.
Even if I lay her on the floor by my feet she is clinging
to my leg and won't let go. It has been that way since
day one. Don't get the impression it is an unhealthy attachment,
for it is not. She is not uncomfortable with other people
and loves to visit and as long as I am either out of the
room or in arms reach if I am in the room she could
spend all day with another person and not be the least bit
distressed. It is just when she is with me she wants to
be "With Me," and can be very clingy to get her way.
She does not care if I am doing the dishes or laundry or
just reading a book, she needs to touch her Mom and
enjoys that bond. I enjoy it too though it can be a hassle to
have her in my arms at all times for I can seldom get
anything done. For the site I have a desk top in my
room and the laptop down stairs and write and edit
in brief spurts while she is pre-occupied and I am always
working on one review on the desk-top and another on
the lap top or I would never get anything done at all.
She has little play areas set up all over the house
but still needs me to sit there with her and before the
wrap the only way I could accomplish anything was to
wait to she was sleeping and that made for some long
nights. Even longer days when you walk around half
awake. She is not like that with John and he can set
her down and she will play happily to the sun sets
on the day. Since I have the wrap I have enjoyed
the fact I can have her with me and go about my
day and do things as normal before she was here to
change my definition of the word. She loves the fact
she can be in on the "Action" and never has to
give herself whip lash wondering where Mommy is
for she hears the voice but can't see her. With the
wrap she is all giggles and sunshine and feels like
a little Dora the Explorer knock off for she is exposed
to all sorts of things I had left her out of before. Rowan
has helped with the laundry and unwrap boxes that
came in the mail and even has added a few touches
of her own to dinner ( the cold items to be safe)
and seems to even enjoy her bath time more for she
is now involved in the making of the bubbles and
setting up of the tub. Even going to the Potty with
Mommy is exciting for there is a shelf right there with
lots of bottles to explore and I also got off my duff and
did some more baby proofing for I was waiting to she
was older and could get around by herself but in a
sense, she is now and it is better to be safe then
sorry for if I am not paying attention, poof, that
dish soap is in her mouth. John also enjoys the
closeness the wrap offers though it took him a while
to get the hang of wrapping it but now that he has
that mastered he finds it refreshing to have her right
with him instead of having to set her in a "Play
Area" when he wants to grab some coffee or a glass
of water then have to rush back in the room for she
is making a weird noise or worse yet, no noise whatsoever.
Now she is right there with him and helping him
pour, again the water not the coffee.

The Sleepy Wrap promotes closeness and I
love that for I do not come from a touchy family
and with my son I had to literally remind myself
to spend so much time a day touching him for
when you place your hand on a baby or rub
their head or backs it is not only a source of comfort
but also gives them a sense of security they will
remember in their sub-conscious for all of their lives.
I know this is important to an infants well being and
made a point to schedule so much time out of
the day to offer that touch to Andrew and would wallow
in guilt on days that I forgot. With Rowan and the
Wrap I do not have that guilt or even fear for though
she is tucked safe in the wrap it is just reflex for
a person too secure a babies head or body when
making a fast move or getting up or down. She is
in no danger of falling out but instinct lets a person
know to make doubly sure and she thrives in the fact she
is offered constant touching and I never have to
worry about making time for it like I did with my
son for it is all second nature and I do so without
thinking about it. I think the wrap has blended into
our family in a perfect way and will continue to
use it until she is the one who would no longer
like to be carried that way for let's face it, Mommy's
enjoy the contact just as much as the children and
it keeps her close to me in every way possible. My
thoughts on the Sleepy Wrap are nothing but
positive and I love it!

Sleepy wraps are made durable and the
new wraps are made from 100% Organic Cotton
and are super soft. They come in a variety of
colors and the Organics come in Natural or
Kakki so they are 100 percent Natural in every
sense of the word. They are easy to use and
attach and provide a secure comfortable fit
that can be adjusted for every size child or
baby. They are perfect for Breast Feeding and
a soothing way to lull your child into a peaceful
sleep. There are no sizes to worry about and
they not only offer better communication between
you and your baby it also allows you the option
to keep baby for yourself and next time that lady
at the grocery store walks up and says "Oh,
what an adorable little baby!" you don't have
to worry about her putting her hands that you
have no idea where they have been on your
child for it would really take a brazen person
to come that close to you and since baby is
on you chances are they will admire from
a distance. In the rare case someone is
willing to put their hand on you in thier attempt
to get thier hands on your baby all you have to
do is turn away and baby goes with you! The
Sleepy Wrap is a great thing to have if you are
a busy Mom and allows you to spend time
with your child no matter how hecktic your
day is for they are right there with you! I adored
the closeness it has brought us and you will
too!

bECO review!

Rowan loves to go for a walk! Even amidst her teething
and the cold she has been suffering through she still perks
up whenever you get her outdoor gear ready. It is a little bit
chilly here in our fair state of Antartic,er, I mean Michigan but
sometimes that little girl is crying so hard or yanking at her
little ear and rubbing her jaw to the point of turning it red
that half of the day will go by without her being able to take
a nap or even give a hint of a crack of a smile. We feel so
bad for that little Baby baby but other then some Tylenol
there really isn't anything we can do for her. I have teething
tablets and teething rings and an whole assortment of items
in the freezer to all designed with the purpose of comforting
in her in mind and talk about throwing gas on a fire for all
it does is remind her she is in pain in the first place and
the screams just get louder. There is not a thing sadder to
me on this planet, or any parents I am sure, then to listen
to the cries of a child suffering. With RA in my spin and
the problems and pain I face there I can sympathize with
her and have often let my mind wander and have even
been on the edge with thoughts of giving her old fashion
remedies such as Whiskey on her gums. Now I know in
my head that is not helping her, just knocking her out
but I feel so desperate to see her calm and miss her
smile.
I found out about the walks by accident for one
really bad day for I had to go to an appointment and
had no choice but to take her and it just about broke
my heart to know her desperate wails would only get
louder once she was out of the comfort of her house
and she despises being in the car seat for Rowan is
such a busy little girl she has to see what is going on
at all times and the car seat limits her view to just
about nothing and worse yet, straps her in so she can't
even have the illusion of thinking she can work her
way to freedom. So now I was going to take a suffering
child and put her in his most detested position and
felt like such a failure as a parent for not being able
to help her, I didn't know what to do. I wanted to cancel
again but I had already canceled three times and John
was not here then so I had no choice. Even worse we
all know when a child cries they get all stuffed up and
can't breath after a while and when that child already
has a cold.................well let's just say I was suffering
almost as much as her. Now I am also a super Dunce
and had left her car seat out in the car and now had to
carry her out there and strap her in and couldn't even
get her all situated in the car seat first. UGH! Poor
little thing. I got all her gear on her as she screamed
the whole way and diaper bag and purse and shoved
as many teething rings and frozen items in there as
I could find and even double downed her with "No Throws
for one had a bottle and the other a teething ring for
I knew once we got moving I would no longer be able
to comfort her. I snatched her and with lots of kisses
and comforting words stepped out into the cold air.
The screaming baby stopped crying.
Okay, she is stunned by the cold. I took a look at her
and saw she is engrossed in the outdoors and looking
around intently through little swollen eyes. Hummmm..........
She was quiet the whole way to the car and almost
made it through the trip before she realized she was
unhappy and resumed her wails. Through the whole wait
and appointment she screamed and then once again
as soon as we got out side: Silence. Hummmmmmm
again. Again we made it almost all the way where we
were going before the screams resumed. When we got
home instead of going into the house I just dropped off
the diaper bag and took her for a walk through the condo
complex. Again silence. I walked her about 20 minutes
before my back gave me some warning pangs and was
so thankful that was enough for it allowed her the chance
to relax enough and when I brought her in she was soon
fast asleep. Later that day when she woke it wasn't long
before she started to fuss and soon the waterworks were
back in force. Another walk, Quiet. I could not believe
with all the medicinal items I had bought and the load
upon loads of teething items that cost a small fortune
all that is took to offer that little girl some much needed
relief was something she loved to distract her. Okay, Duh,
got it, I now have an answer and I should hang my head
in shame I had not found it a few weeks sooner and saved
her a lot of pain. We went out about five times that day
and each and every time Rowan was so engrossed in
the scenery she forgot her tender gums and for the first
night since I can remember she got some much needed
rest without tossing and turning and waking up crying.
The next morning my back was the one screaming
and throwing a fit and when Rowan started her little
hissy up again I almost wanted to join her.I knew I
could not carry her around all day again so I drug out
the stroller and thought she might like that.
No Dice! Again she was too far back like the car
seat and could not see enough and spent most of
the time struggling to get out and get a better view and
just ended up crying all the harder knowing she
couldn't. I started tossing things out of the closet like
a mad woman looking for her carrier. I found the accident
one I had stashed for with only a few months of Summer
before the cold weather set in I didn't yet purchase her
a new one and a Doo Dad I have had for eons would
have to do. Toss the baby in and ( a lot of added Bengay)
and was out the door and once again was rewarded with
the blissful sounds of silence. She could have cared
less that she was flopping around like a wet noodle
for this carrier was so old it was built before people
started taking things like Babies and Mommies
comfort into consideration and was pretty much a frame
with a seat you just tossed her in and could also only
be worn facing the front so all her weight was pulling
on my shoulders. Still, it was more comfortable then
just carrying her and though it didn't make my back feel
like singing like Julie Andrews, it also didn't have me
humming the death march so I would live.I decided on
the spot I was just going to have to find a carrier that
would have me whistling a happy tune for I know a
lot of advancements have been made since the days
I toted Andrew around in this Brontosaurus model.
That evening I sat down at the computer after she
dozed off and brought up my old friend Google and
typed in Baby Carrier.
49 pages.
Let me repeat that.
49 pages of baby carriers. When Andrew was a baby I
think my choices were red and black.
49 pages. How do I know what one is best for me and
how am I ever going to whittle down that monstrous
selection to a more manageable list. I went to a few forums
I belong too and a couple of Mothers groups and also
some local resources for Mom's I belong to and started
to ask around. A lot of times I got more questions then
answers for according to them I am supposed to be the
answer lady and not a whole lot of help. There were a few
people that told me about theirs and I started to grow a
list but it was a slow and steady road. Every day I would
suffer through my Smithsonian Carrier and every night
I would research the latest ones I had heard about during
my research. One name kept coming up over and over
again though, bECO and I was pretty sure I had not heard
of them when Andrew was little for I checked out their
site and their selection was more then just red and black.
I moved them to the top of the list and made a point to
ask people about them. I also sent a letter off to them
and a couple of others that had been mentioned more
then once but did not bank on that I was only asking these
people for more information and I had already been
researching carriers a few days and I don't think my
back could take much more of Rowan and I's repeated
treks to the wildness of the Detroit suburbs but for her
comfort I kept trudging along. I wanted to rush right out
and buy one but my research had me even more confused
for I learned some carriers are for Baby when little only,
some are for Baby Big only, some you wear in front, some
the back. Okay now, take something I am already confused
about and add a zillion more details to compound the
problem and make me more confused. My head was going
to explode I just knew it. I jotted those questions down
and went to bed for my vision was already blurry from
just going over the list of available carriers on the market.
Did I tell you there were 49 pages of carriers?
The next morning I got up and as Rowan smeared Oat
meal on her face I grabbed a cup of Coffee and checked
my emails. There was already an email from bECO.
WOW!
That was fast.
They had answers to a lot of my questions and I was
relieved a sales pitch didn't come with it. The person
answered them in an unbiased way and gave me "just
the facts, Mam" and I can now at least say I am fully
informed on the different variety's and styles and I
am no longer confused on that count. I also have to say
they were fabulous in the customer service department
for we shot about 10 emails back and forth and yeah, I
know I ramble, isn't that why I Blog? and I can be a pain
with my questions and not once did they loose their
patience or refer me to a FAQ guide somewhere or
get even the slightest bit testy even though we all
know Michelle has more then one blond moment and
can be as big as handful as Rowan sometimes and
a total pain in the you know where! They never even
questioned why I needed the information and I even
did pretty good without telling them the life story of
the blog I usually ramble on about until the persons
brain turns to mush from my exaggerated details
and long winded tangents. Towards then end I felt
I have to tell them ( see, I did good, I have a blog is
usually the second thing I tell a person when I meet
them) and they were very kind about that and said they
would be happy to pass my information to someone
in a department that handles reviews and such and
I thought sure, then rolled my Internet eyes for please,
I have heard that before. After lunch I walked Rowan
and put her down for a nap and again hit the emails.
Another person from bECO had sent me one.
Eh, Déjà vu here. Wow, they were fast. I had
yet to hear anything from any of the other manufactures
and as it stands at that moment I was pretty confidant
bECO put the service in customer service. I don't care
if they were selling a product that was only good for
doubling the amount of earwax you have their customer
service was so spectacular I would have bought it for
that reason alone. This person was even nicer then the
last, if that was all passable and said he would be happy
to send me an item to review and explain their line
more fully and answer any questions I could come up
with. I was pretty close to climbing up on that hill with
Julie Andrews about now but had yet to even see the
carrier. Then he said once I got it he would also be glad
to answer any questions I might have. Now there I laughed
out loud for I almost felt bad for the guy for he really
doesn't know me and 7,000 questions could go by without
me even making a dent in my list. We set something up
and I figured I had a couple of week wait and could not
wait that long with Rowan and my back so I kept up
with my research. Besides, I told you guys I would give
you all the facts, not just one set. I sent some more
letters and took a break for it was Friday night and
Michelle needed one. I did however, spend some time
on Saturday and again on Sunday checking out a
couple of carriers my friends had and I will tell you
about them more later but let's just say they were
nothing to call Mom about and my back was still
pretty cramped up come the following morning and
Julie Andrews was talking retirement for a moment
there.
Monday Morning came and the weekend was pretty
much a blur of me walking Rowan who's second tooth
is ready to break through any day now and rubbing on
Bengay. Mail was early and I hobbled out to grab it and
the stack of boxes that was there and about 3 boxes into
it was the bECO carrier. Um, wow. Wait, that didn't get as
much enthusiasm as it deserved, UM, WOW!!!!!! A we had
Friday where I spoke to them. Saturday. Sunday and no
mail and first thing Monday morning they were there.
WOW! I opened the box and giggled for this was such an
adorable design. I mean I had seen their styles on the site
and was impressed but you never really get the feel for
something until you see it in person. Their pattern designs
are sort of those universal boy/girl designs that are
bright and whimsical and colorful and just make you
smile when you see them. Something you would associate
happy thoughts with. I can't answer for a Baby but it
was cute enough to put a smile on my face just looking
at it and if someone were tossing me in it for a walk
I would be giddy with the fashion statement it made alone.
I was also eager to read the brochure and see what size
it was and how long I could use it before I had to buy
a bigger one and also if it was a front design or back
design for though I got all those answers from bECO
about what carriers offer now a days and what the
different styles were I was so happy a real person
was helping we with my quest I forgot to ask what kind
were theirs? Digging in the box a DVD popped out. Now
there was an instruction book there too but a video?
How cool is that?
I know any of you guys with children know what a
pain in the butt it is to read instructions for something
when you have an Infant or Toddler wanting to use it
now. Worse yet, something like a car seat and its 5 point
safety UHG! belts were you are trying to get JR in it and
read a book at the same time and you are getting frustrated
and they are grabbing the book and you need it back
and then they cry and then YOU cry and every ones in
tears and you still don't know how to hook it up. Well
these guys must have kids for the DVD is a complete
set of instructions that you can watch as you are tucking
JR in and let them eat the book. You don't really need it
anyway! They were just kind enough to cover all your
bases. Now I set that aside for I wanted those details
I told you about and they already had two plus's on the good
side and I didn't want to see just how hard it would be
to get her in just yet for the old one is like an Iron
Maiden and a pain in the butt. I was pretty shocked
when I found my details. Lemme' share.

1. newborn to toddler, 7-45 lbs. Ah, that means I will not
need another one for this will last Rowan to she is too
old to carry. Rachel is 12 and 50 pounds and I really
doubt she wants us to cart her in a carrier so if Rowan
grows the same way I think we are good there!

2. front and back carry. Ah, again. Only need one. I don't
have to worry if she likes to ride on the back or front
for they have both options covered there too! I can also
find out what one is better for my back without dropping
a wad of cash with different models for this "IS" different
models all rolled into one!

3. easy On and OFF features. THANK GOD! I am so easily
frustrated and Rowan is such a wiggler that getting her in
her Jammie's is often about as much as I can handle.

4. high quality tested materials. Will they pass the Michelle
Test. Well, stage one they blew through for I have pulled,
yanked and did everything but tap dance on this. I will
get back to you about how well it holds up in the wash
for right now I just can't stop using it long enough to wash!

5. machine washable. I am laughing to the point of tears
here for don't I tell you guys I wash everything, if
it is supposed to be washed or not for the simple fact
in real life at my house it will end up there sooner or
later and I like to know right away and get it over with..
Here they just made it for people like me at the start
and I don't have to worry!
It also has a lot of neat features that make it an
even better value then it already was. As if they could!
Well I guess they could for they did! They give you an
infant insert to make sure when Baby is little they
are all snug and comfy. Safety Buckles to make sure
Miss Houdini doesn't make a break for it or I lean too
far one way and she goes plop! A fold down head support.
Hey, I wish I had such comfort! You can even remove the
head rest. This neat little inside panel that makes it
really easy to transfer baby to another person. Now that
is neat. If I had another I could switch back from John
and I without missing a beat! A storage sleeve for stuff
all us Moms and Dads need on those walks! AND the
items I saved for last. The ones that are super important
for me. Wide padded Shoulder Straps so the pull of her
weight doesn't drag down on me and irritate my back
more then it already is and a Wide Padded Waist Belt
for Lumbar Support. These are super important for
even though my back does not hurt as bad with the
carrier I am using now in comparison to just holding
her it still aches a lot in the morning. Also, you guys
would think my minor aches ARE really bad for my
back hurts 24-7 and gets worse every year and I have
just grown used to it. It would have only been a few more
weeks before I would have has to stop using the carrier
for the strain was getting a little worse each day. I normally
wake up uncomfortable and on a scale of 1-10 my pain
level is around a 4 for I sleep with a Patch that releases
medicine into my spine all night long and since Rowan
and my walks I have been waking up at a 7 or 8. The day
I just carried her I woke up at a 10 the next morning and
had to take a hot shower, Bengay, medication and a heating
pad to just make it down the stairs. It was not pleasant but
that is one of the reasons I was over excited when I saw the
Shoulder Pads and Lumbar Support. With my Rheumatoid
Arthritis being as advanced as it is I can have a pretty
rocky road if I do not pay attention to those details. I
was just crossing my fingers that it would work.
Now I got this yesterday first thing in the morning and
have taken Rowan on 6 walks. One for quiet a ways too.
Rowan and the Pooch love product tests like that for
they get the perks and I get the work! I did not lather up
with extra Bengay or sleep on the heating pad like
I have been since I started our walks for I really wanted
to know how good the support was.
I have been up for a few hours now but let me tell you
when I first woke up.............well, let me put it to
you this way!
The Hills are Alive with Music!!!!!!!!!!
And folks, Julie Andrews has not left the building
because I still feel great and if their support can
help a person like me I know it can keep people
without issues in tip top shape. Every single thing
about the bECO carrier was perfect and I just love
the thing and best of all the perks for me. Yeah, yeah,
there is that long list of goodies that come standard
with their Butterfly but let's talk about me right now.
Rowan is happy, she gets her walks that distract her
from her tooth pain and keep her crying jags at bay.
The Pooch enjoys her walks and since she has been
driving me nuts since winter started for she hates

Kokopax Review and Giveaway

Spring is around the corner and I love the warm weather
and one of the reasons I love Spring is the fact you get to
break out some of the warm weather gear and clothing for
your kids. It is time to put away the functional Winter clothes
and pull out the cute stuff and dress your children in the
hippest, cutest most happening fashions. If you have a
little girl or a little boy it doesn't matter for Spring and
Summer just have the most adorable designs there are.
Darling short sets to show off those chubby little baby
legs, flowing sundresses for your little girl, brightly colored
ruff and tumble overalls for your little boy and Charming
Hats and sunglasses for both! Last year Rowan only had
a couple of months of warm weather she was able to enjoy
but it didn't change the fact I quickly compiled a wide
assortment of hats for her to wear on her daily walks
with the Pooch. I just love those Quirky Sun Hats and
Floppy Brim styles. Who could resist? Let's not also forget
they also provide valuable protection for Babies new
and delicate skin and shelter from the harmful rays of
the sun. By the first of September I had an even larger
Winter collection but by the end of December I was
already chomping at the bit to find some new Spring
styles. For Starters, Easter isn't Easter with out a big
old hat a top Baby's head. I wanted to make sure I saw
all there was out there before I started making my choices
for Rowan will have her first Birthday mid-summer and
that will be the season for many of her firsts. In fact when
they did Summer clearance on Pool Toys last Fall I bought
so many I had to buy a large plastic storage bin to keep them
all in. You can bet your bottom dollar Rowan with be out
in the sun more then in the house and I want to make
sure I have her protected from all outdoor dangers. The Sun
is a big one and the fact the best way to keep her little bald
head safe are some adorable fashions are just a perk in my
eyes!

While browsing for Hats I came across the most
adorable site filled with children's items for outdoor travel.
Kokopax has everything from Carriers, to Totes and Sun
Hats and more. The Floppy Brim Savannah Sun Hats are
what hooked me, their designs and quality are what reeled
me in. I loved the fact they were made of 100% Cotton so
even when the hot rays of the Sun are bearing down on
my baby she is protected without sweating and feeling
uncomfortable for we all know Cotton breaths and is a
super material all the way around. The fact the hats are
made of a Cotton canvas is even better for it means they
not only keep her covered she can touch them with sticky
fingers or I can slather lotion on her and not worry about
them being stained or ruined for they are super simple to
keep clean. The Hat they sent for review was drop dead
adorable and I really fell in love with the chin strap for
it made it a snap to put on and take off and inquisitive
little hands will have a hard time yanking it off whenever
your back is turned. It is still a little on the large side for
her and I was super glad for that means little miss growing
in leaps and bounds will fit it perfectly come the first warm
day of Spring. I can't wait to show her off!

Kokopax also has a super functional lightweight carriers
that is perfect for those warm weather walks down the block
and not only offers baby a perfect vantage point for exploring
the world around her is also really comfortable for Mom or
Dad to wear and keeps baby tucked in and safe for the trip.
They have a style to even match the hat or more feminine or
whimsical or whatever your flair and yes Dads, they offer
a solid black so you don't feel like you are on a fashion
parade with your toddler or Baby. Don't think for a second
just because you guys complain about our bright patterns
and busy designs that we don't know the minute you are
out of earshot and eye sight and someone tells you how cute
your child looks you are not taking total credit and exclaiming
how you picked out the items yourself. Mom's have been onto
you for years!

Kokopax even offers a Eco Classic Carrier that uses the
best Green technology in its design and still remains
extreamly comfortable and fashionable as well. The fact
it has a five part harness or weighs less then 3 pounds
are just perks that people familiar with Kokopax have
come to expect in their products. One of the things I liked
best with the Kokopax carriers is the Kickstand and
the fact it makes for easy loading of your child and this
carrier is one of the easiest to use I have found. The Totes
are just as well crafted and I can see Kokopax will have
a long life at my house for we are an up and at um type of
family and they are built for people like us!

Kokopax is also offering to give one of my readers a hat
