Hey there, while you are here don't forget to enter
my Happy Baby and Costumes for Less Contests!

When looking at baby care items it is so hard to
know what to get and make the right choices. You
are just undated with options and you just can't
drive your pediatrician insane with phone calls for
over the counter items like chest rubs and soaps
and baby oils and powders. They would pretty
much think you are nuts if you called them at
8 PM and asked, "Hey there doctor so and so, I am
looking at the 300 brands of Baby shampoo and I
am not sure what kind to buy. Should I got with No
More Tears or is the is the Aveeno better?" Not only
would you get a bill in the mail, chances are they would
hang up on you too! Over the counter items are the one
thing we as parents have to figure out ourselves. Now
Doctor so and so will let you know when to use Tylenol
and if a pain reliever is even needed but diaper ointments
and lotions, we are on our own. It is enough to drive you
mad too! One thing I am very thankful for is with Rowan
I have the organic option where as with Andrew I didn't.
No matter the brand, Organics are always they best choice
but I now face the decision of whittling down one brand

rocks! I have been using Vicks in the steamer and
I was scared to death to put in right on Rowans chest.

was appropriate for back in the good old days parents
did some pretty off the wall things to sooth their kids
that would cause parents to fall over dead in shock now.
Even if Vicks was a good idea, my Grandmother is not
around any longer for me to ask so I am pretty much on
my own. Babies have so much more sensitive skin then
adults for face it, they are new and it is so important
for us to treat it with care for even though it is new it
is also the skin they will have forever and as parents
we are responsible for keeping baby very safe and

because this was made just for her and I didn't have
to panic when I used it that I was doing the wrong thing.

Let me tell you guys, I am not at all worried about
Rowans appetite! You place anything in her hand and it
is straight to the mouth. Because of the rushed birth and
the fact she had some breathing issues right off the bat
and lost a lot of weight right away they were very concerned
about her and her ability to thrive. She dropped from 6 pounds
to 5 in days and spent a whole week in NICU before I begged
to have her home. We had more then the normal doctors visits
at the start to watch her weight but now, 6 months later she
is a very very very, might I add a dozen more very's to that list
healthy little baby. She is 18 pounds and full of energy and
zest and eats like a tanker! She can eat a full thing of
Baby food then a bottle for dessert and want a cracker to
top it off! But it wasn't always this way.

When I first tried to feed her solids for it was either
that or hook an IV of Formula up because she was going through a full
can of the special formula the doctor ordered every day at
16 bucks a pop. I tried the regular cereal at every store first
and it was an Ut ah, no thanks Mom, cry cry, you eat it. I ended
up finding some organic products and for some reason she liked
them so much better. I decided to try more Organic baby foods
and look for brands that offered more then just Pureed items
as well for she is quickly deciding she wants something to
gum and chew on rather then soft and liquid items. There are
so many brands on the market now I thought I would never be
able to negotiate the maze of items out there and was a bit
overwhelmed. After reading a few reviews I crossed a couple
of names off of the list ( see, I read reviews too!) and ended
up with about 12 names left. Some are brands we have known
forever, others are new. The only way to proceed from that point
was to let her try them.Talk about a messy endeavor!

One of the first brands that stood out for me was
Tasty Baby! They have a great selection of products and I
really loved the fact the come in packs of 6 for their stage one
foods on up. You have no idea what a pain it is to have 7,412
bottle jangling around in your cart. You can also order them
from Amazon and have them shipped right to your front
door.That is convenience! They have cereal, Baby Foods and
even fruit snacks that are all organic and just plain Delicious!
The stage one items consist of only one ingredient so you
are safe on allergy concerns and are made with the finest
produce and you will find even your toddler or school aged
child wanting their apple sauce in their lunch box. I liked it
too! The stage two products allow them to expand their
pallet and still have that creamy constancy and this is
when your kids start to find out their own taste preferences.
Rowan has already started with some of these and that is
why she is eating a whole one at a time, she just loved them!
Last of all is the stage three and this is where the texture starts
to come in. Rowan is a tad too young for chunky style but
she thinks she is ready and I am doing everything I can to
hold back. I have a feeling she will win and after her doctors
appointment tomorrow I will know more. They also have
cereals and Rowan is eating them every morning for
breakfast and this is one of the few brands she will eat as
is and I do not have to mix with a fruit. Just perfect! I still
give her some applesauce for Breakfast dessert though for
she is so cute I can't help it! They also have Gummy Fruit
snacks that are good for you and not all sugar and though
she is way to young for them I know this will be a biggie in
our house for that Baby is a fruit eating machine! These little
ditty's have NO high-fructose corn syrup, artificial colors or
flavors and that makes them too cool and I am already thinking
of grabbing some and stocking up for when she is ready!
Tasty Baby has been featured on many TV shows and
publications and is widely acclaimed as "The Baby" food for
your child and after testing it I can see why! They are totally
Earth Friendly and the list of celebs that love them is as
long as the trail of drool Rowan often has running off her

I know a lot of people love being pregnant. Not only do
they enjoy the attention they enjoy the changes in their body,
the fact they are bringing new life into this world this is also
the time they feel the closest to their child. These women

By the time Rowan was born she was already grounded for
the next 10 years for not listening to her Mommy. I guess what
I am trying to say is I was not one of those women who enjoyed
their pregnancy at all. All I felt was tense and uncomfortable
and oh, so very nauseous all the time. Earth Mama Angel Baby

wish I had known about this time last year. The have

The first item they sent was Tea. Next time you are having a
bad day and can't get so much as a piece of dry toast down
you should try anyone of these teas. They have Heartburn,
Morning wellness, ( I got) Peaceful Mama and third trimester
Teas and the one I had was so gentle and soothing and gave
me that good tea warm all over feeling and since I have been
fighting this cold flu thing for a few weeks now I know for a fact
it also works wonders on calming your stomach. You can have
a cup or two of this for breakfast and by lunch you will be
back to eating pickles and ice cream. Of coarse with that combo
you will be back on the tea by dinner. You do not even have
to be pregnant to enjoy it, tea is great all the time but like I
told you I had a sad tummy and this had me eating solid foods
a few hours later for the first time in days. The third Trimester
tea is even packed with minerals and other nutrients your
body is being zapped of to keep you dancing right up to the end.
If that doesn't work for you try the Happy Mama Spray.
Made for Mom's with Tummy issues or are just a little blue the
aroma of the spray is like a miracle worker. Andrew has always
had the worst time with smells and I guess you would call it
a nervous stomach and I let him try this and he fell in love with
it. It doesn't take much to turn his stomach and he even got out
of training his dog for it was a little more easy for me to just
clean up the dogs mess then both of theirs and I know the smell
of Rowans Diapers has been wearing thin on him. When I showed
him how to use the spray ( a little on your wrist and inhale) he
went nuts for it and ran off with the bottle. I wish I had something
hooked to my central air to pump this stuff through the house
for as it stands now I have to chase the boy down to see if I
can borrow MY spray. It is easy to see that this product works
well not only in pregnant women but in full grown Teenage boys
who literally can't stomach a lot of smells.
The other thing about being pregnant is you are not
pregnant forever and soon you will have a darling little bundle
in your arms and a whole new set of problems to go along with
it. When you are a young girl and day dream about what your
adult life will be like with your Husband or Wife and eventual
family of your own you never remember to daydream up the
answers to a lot of questions you will have when that day
arrives. You know the often unglamorous details like:

What kind of shampoo is best for my baby and are there really
no more tears?
Do I need to apply lotion and if so what kind should I use?
How do I treat Diaper Rash, a huge concern for all parents
for a rash left untreated can quickly become out of control.

With a Myriad of products on the market this already
confusing task of picking what is best for your baby can
turn into a horror show with fears of making the wrong
choice. The even scarier part is a lot of it boils down to personal
choice and trial and error with baby as the test subject. This
task can truly be paralyzing. Even I can't tell you what you need
for this is the one obstacle you have to hurdle yourself for
every child is different and unique. I can only offer tips

The lotion and wash are fantastic and everything you could want
but I am going to focus on the Bottom Balm and not just
because I like the name. I am a fanatic when it comes to
Diaper Rash for when Andrew was a baby I ran a daycare so
I could be with him his first couple of years. During that time
I saw some of the most awful rashes on these poor baby's and
it took everything I had not to break down in tears. The pain and
discomfort these poor little babies must have felt is heart
wrenching and I have made it a personal mission to not let that
happen to my kids. At the first sign of Pink I am all over it!
You guys know Rowan and I have been fighting a cold and kids
tend to get more rashes when they are not feeling well and
sure en ugh a few mornings ago she had some pink bumps and
looked a little splotchy and the start of a nasty rash. I grabbed
the balm and went to work.
"Balm please, Nurse, lets skip the forceps!"
By dinner time it was if I had dreamed the whole thing
for I could hardly tell it was there. The Balm also felt super
creamy and smooth and something you would want to put
on your babies skin not at all like some of the other Diaper
Creams that are lumpy and you pretty much have to smooth
the lumps out onto your baby's skin and don't get me started on
how tacky and sticky they feel. The point is this balm worked
and worked well, the only other diaper cream I have found
that works this well is the medicated one they had on Rowan
when she was in NICU that first week but like the other store
bought brands I told you about it was also very thick and sticky.
This one, not even close. Rowans bottom never looked so good!
