Monday December 21st!

Stress Level: PMS is worse!
New Grey hairs added: 5
Only a few more days to Christmas and every ones getting
tense. I went to the store today and though it was not nearly
as crowded as I thought Toys R Us would be, the people shopping
were all on edge. Most of the people there are the last minute
people who are looking for a certain toy that has long ago sold
out. I was standing in the Formula isle at 9 am so I was all
by myself but it was pre-school toys on the flip side and there
was a person stocking shelves and in the 5 minutes I was there
at least 3 people came up and asked the guy "Do you have ......,"
and every single time it was the same thing and every single
time they guy had to go, "No, sorry, we sold out already this
morning and will not be getting more to after Christmas." And
every single time the people swore, either at him or about him
as they walked away. It shocked me. How was this a 18 year
old kids fault? I am so glad that I shop ahead and never pay
attention to fad items. My son gets all the video game systems
when they come out and for the last batch you could not order
ahead like the Xbox 360 so since he was old enough I just gave
him money and told him if you call and find a place that has
them I will drive you but not until you find one first! When
he was younger I just was clever with my son and said Santa
is so busy and it a toy everyone wants and he called and said
he knows how good of a boy you are and polite too and if things
get really crazy you will understand that I can't make enough for
everyone and won't mind if I leave you something else cool and
have my Good Friend the Easter Bunny bring this toy with your
basket! By then the craze has died down and it is easy to get
and I am off the hook!
Shhhheeewwww!
I am so lucky that there hasn't been anything Andy has
really wanted in years and Rachel is a girl so her list would
be so huge she knows she will never get it all and Johns
boys are too old to care and Rowan is too young!
Again, Shweeeeeeeew!
But for me the stress is making it good for the kids and
fair. I count the presents, then add the cash totals and make
sure things are fair and square across the board. Even for
friends and neighbors I don't want to play favorites. I become
all obsessed over it. It drives me nuts and no one else even
cares or notices.
I also never know what to do with Johns family. He wants me
to hang with them and get along with them but I don't like that
for as an only child of an only child I never had a big family and
don't feel comfortable in one. Plus a lot of his cousins are
well, Grandma said if you don't have something nice to say,
shut your mouth!
Uhg!
Anyway, back to the grind. I post a lot yesterday and still
have 4 more reviews to write and 3 more with contests so
I better get cracken guys!
Moral of the Day: You will still have the kids even after
the Toy of the Year has been broken or forgotten!
