Meyer Natural Angus Review and Giveaway!
Meyer Natural Angus!
I am A Carnivore!
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR, I am making some
scary faces here. I can't believe you are still
reading after that. Every small child within
three blocks is running for the hills right now
and their parents are chasing them down. Why am I
being so mean? Well, I just got some Premium Quality
Meyer Steaks and don't want to share. It is bad
enough my son is sitting about 5 feet from
me now cradling a package thinking his body
heat will make it thaw faster and foaming at
the mouth.
As you can see Andrew and I love Steak!
Love it! I am not found of any other kind
of meat and after watching a video on a chicken
processing plant about 10 years ago I even tried
to go Vegan, it lasted to the first time my
neighbor cooked some T-bone Steaks and I stood drooling
at the fence line. One restraining order and 4 hour trip
to the local meat market and steak was back on my plate.
Andrew and I eat it about once a week as a steak
and then Beef in other forms at least 2 more
times. When the guys eat Pork or Chicken I
skip it and eat pasta for I just don't feel the
same way. Now John on the other hand doesn't care
one way or another for he tells me at the Firehouse
they had Steak, Crab and Shrimp all the time
and he is sick of it. Boy do I feel bad for those
poor Firemen!
When this package came, however, he was poking
around in the kitchen staking his claim. You
can just tell through the air locked packages
that they are a top quality. The marbling is
perfect and has just the right amount of fat
swirled in. I know, I know, fat is well, fattening
and not good for you, but who are you kidding, you
have to have a certain amount to add flavor!
I had to thaw my Steak, I claimed the Filet, in my room
in one of those insulated lunch boxes. Andrew has that
look in his eye as he sits at the kitchen table and
glares at anyone who comes in striking distance and John,
much more reserved, keeps walking by the kitchen counter
poking the pack to see if it is done thawing!
Before I tell you how they taste let me tell you how
they came. Frozen for one, in a air tight sealed package
individually sealed. Then they were placed in a bag that
is cool all by itself. You can use it as a grocery bag
for its way better quality then the ones you grab at the
store and its insulated for cold foods. How perfect
is that. AND SEE, those of you who are worried about eating
something that has any fat at all in it can burn it off by
walking to the grocery store on a nice summer day and not
worry about your cold stuff getting warm on the way home.
You can even grab some fattening ice cream for dessert!
Come on, you deserve it!
Now the bag is placed on Dry ice, my only complaint for
have you seen a 16 year old boy with dry ice? Mejer, you
sneaky devils! I will say, after I hid the ice until his
Dad can come and get the ice and the boy, that it worked
like a charm and they were frozen solid. In fact their
system worked better then my own freezer! Last thing they
did was place the whole kit and kaboodle in a cooler.
Perfect delivery!
Now the taste. WOW! Can Wow sum something up?
All I know is even John was impressed and Andy has not
said anything yet for he is too busy licking the plate. I
might join him. We cooked them on the Grill and followed
Meyers suggestions of:
1. Making sure the grill is hot before you put them on.
2. bushing them lightly with Olive Oil.
3. Sprinkling them with Sea Salt.
4. Sprinkling them with Fresh Cracked Pepper.
That is all it took to have one of the best steaks I have
ever have. Even a couple of my friends who can't find their
own refrigerator in the kitchen they are so inept could not
mess these up for the Quality is so good the flavor can not
help but to leak out. Serve this with a fresh vegetable and
a baked Potato and you have a meal that just might have
everyone you know knocking at your door. A warning though,
to all you single ladies out there, if you use this as man bait,
yes, you will catch a boat load but you are going to have to
feed them this every night for once you raise the bar
there is no going back!
We received the Meyer Natural Angus Jr. Sampler and it
came with,
1 (5 oz) Filet (Mine)
1 (10 oz) Ribeye (Andrew Claimed)
1 (8 oz) New York Strip Steak ( John was smiling as he ate it)
1 (6 oz) Top Sirloin Steak ( We are going to arm wrestle for as
soon as I can hire a proxy I know will win!)
This is perfect for a Family Dinner like we had or for a single
person to store in the freezer. Yes, Man bait too! There are also
many other options to pick from. The BBQ pack is so great for
A summer BBQ, even when you want to impress your boss. They
have the Birthday Pack that I would say is also the right size
for Mothers Day ( Hint hint John) and for Superbowl
Sunday I plan on ordering the Steak Lovers Dream. You can also
Order ALA Cart and put together what ever kind of package
you want. You can even stock up for right now they have a special
going on where it is 25% off and free shipping if you get your order
in before the Christmas deadline of December 15th. Why not send
your parents who live to far some Filets for Christmas? Or you
could send your In-Laws who live too close some Filet's to a
far off place so they have to go get them! I plan on ordering
while the special is going on so I have some for New Years and
Superbowl Sunday. That is what my freezer is for!
You can also win it here for Meyer Natural Angus is
going to give one of you, my lucky readers, the same pack
I recieved with the filet, the Ribeye, the Strip and the Top
Sirloin. That is four packs of YUM all in one box. I swear to
the heavons above us though if you guys bring that dry ice over
to my son!!!! To Enter just head over to their site and come

The best method for thawing frozen meat is in your refrigerator as it provides you better texture and the best eating experience.

I learned "We strive for your steaks to have a bright red color when they arrive. However, it is not unusual for the color to have faded in transit. As the steaks begin to thaw, the color will fade. This is normal and expected. Once the package is opened, the color will return."
December 14, 2009 at 5:05 AM
I learned that you should "Prep- After your steaks have completed thawing in the refrigerator, open the package on each steak, place them on a platter and allow them to rest for 10-15 minutes at room temperature. Go ahead and season your steaks at this time. This resting time prior to cooking will allow the steaks to bloom and warm slightly. A slightly warmer steak will perform better on a hot grill as compared to one right out of the refrigerator. Always pre-heat your grill to about 400-500 degrees"
These steaks sound wonderful. Thanks so much for this giveaway.
