Yes, To Cookies Review and Giveaway!
You know me, Mz Diet! I live on one and have for
more then 25 years now. I make a point on knowing
how many calories are in everything I eat and can pretty
much list the nutritional values of just about every restaurant
around. I have taken nutrition classes and read so many books
my head spins. All in the quest for taste and yummy
goodness in an other wise bland, yucky day! One thing I overlooked
though was sugar. I never much put any thought into it for
I thought if I had the fat, protein, fiber and calories down
pat the sugar didn't matter. Then a few family members
developed type 2 diabetes and I also realized though
my numbers are pretty darn good across the board my
sons are not. His Grandmother has it so I started to
worry. I tried my hand at making sweets at home that
were not sugar laden but I just can't put my heart into it.
I want to bake things he would love but I have huge problems
with butchering a family recipe and the whole thing
ends up in the trash for I can never substitute right. I have
tried everything from natural juice to sweet and low to the
new Stevia and Nada, zilch, it all turned out like a big gooey
pile of yuck. Then I started looking in grocery stores but just
like me most of their products focus on fat and calories and
the few that I did find sugar free taste like sawdust and
I don't know about you but even salt doesn't make saw dust
taste good to me.
I found one Cookie on line a year or so ago but
my computer crashed and I lost the bookmark and I could
never find the site again. Andrew did like those but I was also
paying about 3 dollars a cookie. WOW. Then I heard about
Yes, to Cookies! Hey, I always say yes to cookies, who
doesn't but are they any good? I shot them an email and
they said we will send you some so you can see! As I waited
for them to come I checked out the site and what goes into
the cookies I am going to want to say yes too.
Hum, maybe it would be more easy if I told you what
doesn't go into them.
Lets see;
Sugar doesn't go into them.
Starch doesn't go into them.
Gluten doesn't go into them.
and not a whole lot of Carbs goes into them.
Doesn't that sound like all the good stuff. Now I was really
worried. I also discovered that instead of the Starch they use
fiber. That was an interesting tidbit for if these taste good
I have a whole other way to eat my fiber.
"No, sorry John, I can't go change the Babies Diaper
right now, I have to eat my fiber!"
"Um, those are cookies!"
"Right, my fiber."
I know I wouldn't forget it nearly as much as I do now! Ut oh,
door bell, I better see if it's the cookies.
Guess what guys, they were awesome. You notice I said
were? That is because they are all gone ( well all but 2
of each kind )and Andy is not going to be happy. He was
supposed to be testing these and I only saved him 4 cookies.
I couldn't help it and to think I was a little afraid. I opened the
boxes, we received the Strawberry Banana Blitz and the Coco-
licious in the ready to eat, and I couldn't bring myself to try one.
All I kept thinking was no sugar, starch or gluten and just couldn't
do it. I know I had to try at least one of each for the review. That
is the deal! But I was chicken. As I sat there staring at them,
Rowan was staring at me, when it hit me. She is really picky about
what she eats. I have never seen a child spit out the things she
does. Chicken, squash, turkey, most cereals are all on her
right back out onto the high chair list. For stuff she can hold
herself I have only found two things she will eat, Pretzels
and Vanilla Wafers. Everything else I tried, even regular cookies
went on the floor. HUMMMmm, Light bulb over the head here. If
she will eat one I will eat one for it has to be really really good to
get by her. So I slid a Strawberry Banana Blitz on the Highchair
in front of her and waited. She picked it up, then put it down,
picked it up, then down, picked it up and brought it too her
mouth and was just about ready to stick it in then she started
laughing like crazy at something only she knew was funny and
set it down again. How do you tell a baby to just try it already!
The wait was killing me here. Just about when I was ready to
get up and make us some lunch she grabbed it and put it in her
mouth. Now it takes a minute or two for her verdict for even though
she has been on baby food for a couple of months and eating
some real foods for about a month she is still gumming everything
and it takes a little bit till she finds out what it tastes like. I kept
waiting for her to turn and drop it over the side like everything else
she hasn't liked already and she didn't. Maybe she hasn't gotten
enough of a taste yet. Maybe it was because I was watching her.
Hummmmmmmm, so I got up and went to the sink and started
some dishes thinking once my back was turned over it would go.
I finished the dishes without hearing a thump and turned back
to her and she was stretching her little, albeit slimy mushy
cookie covered arm out trying to reach the plastic container.
NO WAY!
Okay, she earned another one and I now had to eat one.
I gave her another and picked up the Coco-Licious one.
Just a little nibble.......................
Rowan and I ate about 30 cookies between us but to be fair
I had not ate a thing all day long and it was about 2 PM and
Rowan only eats a little bit of each one for the rests gets all
mushy and ends up on her face, hands and arms. So I repeat
we did not eat over 2 dozen cookies.
Okay, so we know they are good, and know they
are good for you, but what you don't know is Yes, To
Cookies is going to give one of my readers an awesome
prize. They are going to give one of you a box of the Coco-
lisious and A box of the Strawberry-Banana Blitz. Are they

If you’re watching saturated fat and cholesterol you’ll be happy to know that Yes! To Cookies bakes up just as great with margarine and egg whites as whole eggs and butter. Make sure the margarine label says it’s good for baking. Some margarine has extremely high water content and is not appropriate for baking Yes! To Cookies mixes. Remember that you want to keep the water content low when baking with Yes! To Cookies, since they’re made from fiber instead of starch. And fiber in your diet can be beneficial in cholesterol reduction.

I liked the section on Pregnancy and there I read that "Since the fiber and sweeteners in Yes! To Cookies aren't digested or absorbed, they will have almost no impact on your blood glucose" which helps prevent gestational diabetes.
