I don't think I ever learned the proper
way to apply make-up. I get it from all
my friends. You applied it too thick.
Michelle, we can hardly see it! Blue is
not your shade! ( 80's pleazzzzzzzzz)
I always thought I was doing just right
until I ran into the first one of my so called
friends every day. Around 25, I called
experimenting quits and just went for
Natural Colors and top of the line cosmetics.
The problem with that decision is it was
B. Very Limited product line and retail locations
If I ran out of my lipstick I had to have a
fat wallet and time to run up to the mall. In
my 20's I really didn't have either. When I had
the money it was because I was working my
butt off and when I was working my Butt off I
just didn't have the time. I either had to stock
up when I could or I was just out of luck. I started
trying less expensive brands that I could run to
my local CVS for but I just didn't enjoy them.
They felt thick, they felt heavy on my skin.
A lot clumped or dried up too easy and most
were as Natural as the girls walking out of
a plastic surgeons office. I had to find a happy
middle ground I could live with. I don't mind
stocking up if I don't have to break the bank
to do so. A few weeks ago I got the chance to
review E.L.F (eyes, lips and face ) Cosmetics
and jumped at it. I was ashamed I had not tried
it sooner for I have heard nothing but good things
about them. I needed to know if they met all of my
requirements, affordable, quality, natural
and according to my friends, idiot proof.
I received items from their Mineral products
line that included the Lip Stick, Foundation, Eyeshadow
and also the Under Eye Concealer and Lip Stain from
their regular line. Since I had just about everything
I needed I decided to go for a full makeover.
I wanted a blank slate so I started clean and fresh
and Ala Natural Michelle, this is not the look for me.
Trust me, I look my age without makeup!
I was impressed with how light the products were
as I applied them. Unlike other cosmetics I have
used they felt gentle and not like I was coating my face
with paint. I really loved the concealer for I am not
a big fan of Foundation since I like for my skin to
be able to breath and have always went with concealer
instead and spot covered. I just used it on my trouble spots
such as under my eyes and chin. This stuff went on very
clean and I hardly had to blend at all. That was a huge
perk for me for I am also lazy and hate to stand for
long periods of time applying makeup. The eye shadow was
incredible and also a neutral shade ( glamorous)
so it was keeping in form with my colors and that made
me like it even more. I even tried the mineral
foundation and LOVED it and as I said before I am
not a fan of foundations at all. This was perfect though
and felt light, in fact so light, I felt like I didn't have it
on at all. If I wasn't so lazy I would wear it everyday but I
do plan on wearing it whenever I go somewhere for I loved
the even look my face had and the shade matched my
own skin tone so you could not tell a difference.
I am even posting some before and after pictures and
I am not a picture person so this is big for me!
The only part I was unsure of is if the Lipstick is too dark
for me? Normally I go lighter but HEY, I said total make-over!
Best of all ELF is going to give one of their
