Fancy Fortune Cookies Review and Giveaway!  



Andrew and I were all by ourselves for a long time.
I worked 60 to 70 hours a week and most of our week
was a blur of getting ready to leave, settling in when we got
home, showers, baths, dinner and homework and maybe
an hour or two of TV as we sit exhausted on the couch
before bed so we could do it all over again. One thing remained
constant during all that time. Wednesday was date night.
No, I don't mean I would hire a sitter and get all dolled
up and go out for a night on the town. My date didn't care if I
was dolled up or in day old sweats and had a coffee stain on
my shirt. My date was also a better catch then any man I
could find elsewhere, I could care less what Eharmony says!
My date was Andrew and every Wednesday belonged to us.
I would pick him up from school and we would start our
"Date" with an early dinner followed by a Movie then we
would go home and eat leftovers on the couch and relax.
Some times I would pick him up a Lego Kit on the way and
as we waited for our dinner we would put it together.
I wouldn't trade those Wednesdays for all the money in the world.
One of our all time favorite places to go on date night was a
little Chinese restaurant down the street. We would order a
whole bunch of different stuff and take home plenty of leftovers
to eat that night and the next day. We had a signature dessert we
would split at every place we ate at but at our Chinese hideaway
we always just went with the fortune cookies. They were the
best and we had to make sure we had a dozen or two to take
home. It was like a rush to see who could finish their meal
faster and get to the cookie. I don't know if Andy remembers but
for years we had a bowl by the front door we would drop our fortunes
in at home when we walked in. I had to get rid of it when he got
a little older for he would sneak in the kitchen and eat all the
ones we brought home just to fill the bowl. Kids, ya know!
When Andy got into cooking around 10 he wanted to try his
hand at Chinese and we made our menu from Date night
complete with the cookies. He said it just wouldn't be the
same without them.


When Fancy Fortune Cookies offered to let
me do a review I laughed. I could not think of a product
that we have more history with. I was super excited
for this was a review the whole family could do. When
they came I laughed again for she sent me a bunch. A
whole bunch. A little of every flavor they have! The thing
is though, unlike you guys who know what you order or win, I
seldom do. It is a surprise until it gets here and the
cookies I got were all mixed together and I had no idea
what the flavors were. I ran to the web site to see what
flavors they carried and jotted down a list and went to
join the gang. We had the best time playing guess that
cookie! It was like sharing a box of mixed chocolates without
the chart but instead of there always being the
nasty jelly one every single one of these were good!
After we got an idea of what cookie was what flavor
we developed favorites and it became a race to see
who could get to them first.This was supposed to be
family game night and it turned into "I can name that
cookie in two bites!" It was a mad house!










Andrews favorite is the Capachino. He has also flat
out told us for the next Holiday he expect to see a Giant
cookie waiting for him. What he is going to do with a
5 inch tall, 7 inch wide 1 pound giant fortune cookie
is beyond me but it is on his list of "Must haves!"
Don't tell him I said so, (Shhhhhhh) but I thought
it would be really neat to get him his Giant Cookie for his
next Birthday and in Lu of a cake and the get the mixed
ones like we received and place them in the take out boxes
they sell for the guests! I thought it would make a really cool
themed party with Egg roll Appetizers and Chinese
Fireworks to light at night! Dragon decor"! Cool
Beans I have just talked myself into it!

John though Big Bertha was cute but was hooked
on the Banana ones and thought they would be even more
incredible ( his words, I was shocked. I thought all he
did was grunt when it has to do with food!) if they were
dunked in Chocolates with nuts! I must say that does
taste good and I was amazed until he opened his mouth
again and said if he crammed a Chocolate and Strawberry
in his mouth real fast he could make a Banana Split!
Now that is the John I know!


My favorite of the flavors was the Lemon for they
have the cookie sweetness but the tangy lemon flavor
and you could eat them with just about anything! As
a dessert, with your morning coffee, when your kid aren't
looking so you don't have to share. The list could go on
forever! What I came to decide is Fancy fortune cookie
makes a great Fortune Cookie and then makes it
even better by adding flavor, zest and all sorts of
sprinkled goodies! Do I have to even mention they can
be dipped in Chocolate for I thought that was a given?
Liver dipped in Chocolate would be good! Not nearly as
good as these cookies but I could eat it, or at least the
chocolate off of it!
