Misikko and Hana Flat Iron Reivew and Giveaway!

How often do I whine to you guys about my
hair? That often? Okay, I know I have been bad in
the past but I think I am about done with all my
complaining. First I found some really awesome shampoo's
that have made such a difference in the texture in my
hair. It was so dry and brittle and fly away and please
do not get me started on the frizz. Before I found some
of the products I have been lucky enough to review I
could pass for that lady on the Bride of Frankenstein for
it really was that bad. I will never understand how
hair as dry and brittle as mine reacts so bad to humidity.
You would think the moisture would be good for it but nope,
frizzy flyaway city! I would look better if I put my finger
in a light socket. Now the dry, brittle part has been fixed
for the most part. I still have moments but with the
Shampoos and hair products I have to use on my hair
I can handle them with my head held up high and not my
hair buried under a baseball cap. In fact I completely knocked
the dry, brittle and frizzy flyaway stuff off my list of complaints.
All I have left now is the wave and the Grey hairs I seem
to be growing fast as the crab grass in my front yard. The
Grey I will have to handle another day but the wave. HUM,
I am sooooooooooo happy with this next review.

Let me start off by saying I don't hate curly hair, just
the opposite in fact. I like my hair curly and if it were not
such a hassle I would wear it that way more. The problem
with that is I don't have real curls, just a natural wave and
until I find a good way to enhance that I just will not wear
it that way. I have gone to some special events and brought
out the curls but to get them so they look good it to either
curl the heck out of it and with my hair being as thick as it
is that would take hours or wearing curlers over night and I
sleep bad as it is. To wear curlers would just make me
a dead tired woman with curly hair plus if you roll it wrong
you are stuck with curls that look like crap and stay that
way to you wash it again. The other way to get my curls
to pop is to use a lot of product. I have to use Mouse
and then a lot of hair gel and scrunch my hair up and keep
doing that to it dries. Now that ends up looking good but
if you were to feel it, yikes, now that is nasty baby!
It is so stiff and hard I could snap it off if I knocked into
something. So curls are a last resort until they make something
to help me. If they make a product that is easy to use and rocks
at curls I am in but until I come across one, and I am pretty
sure that finding one is like locating a Unicorn, I will hold off
on the curls. Now I hate the waves a lot so the other option
for my hair is to straighten it. I love the way my hair looks
straight for it is so smooth and shiny and just looks incredibly
healthy when it is poker straight. I have a problem there too
for to get my hair straight I have to use a flat iron and like
the curling iron it takes so long I seldom do it. I have a couple
of Flat Irons but I wouldn't call them good for the last time
I used one it took me an hour to get it straight, then I had
to wait a bit then do it all over again to get out the frizz
from straightening it the first time. When all is said and done
I have worked on my hair for close to 2 hours when you factor
in both times I used the iron and the fact I have to blow dry
it first to try and control the natural waves in my hair. That is
a lot of time and though the super straight is my favorite look
I just don't have that kind of time to donate to my hair on
a regular basis. I think one of the reasons I do it as often as
I do though is because I always remember my Mother when I
was younger and how straight and perfect her hair looked. She
was a 70's hippy and it just fell natural like that. Lucky woman.
The review I got a chance to do was for a Flat Iron and though
I love the look and agreed to the review I was secretly dreading
the amount of time it would take to straighten my hair. 2 hours in
the bathroom for a review and I am not even doing it because I
have some place fun to go. The things I do for you guys.

Well Michelle learned a valuable lesson. If you buy the
right product to begin with you won't have to spend two hours
to get a Hollywood style look. With this product I got it in
25 minutes. AND IT LOOKS GORGEOUS! I have never been so
impressed. Misikko sent me a Hana Professional Flat Iron 1.5" -
Pink Edition for review and I love Misikko and I love Hanna!
Love is in the air for isn't it funny how great you feel about
everything when you feel like your hair looks so good? With
the Hanna I took a shower and washed my hair and because of
the time factor I thought it was going to take I had been avoiding
the review for I was just to lazy to do it. So after the shower
I was already in a foul mood for I pretty much knew the rest of
my day was shot. To save some time I decided to just skip the
blow drying or product in my hair for I figured if it wasn't really
working a could use the hair dryer later to help make it
straight. A couple of hours later my hair was dry and the
waves were out of control and I knew for a fact I would be
standing there for a very long time trying to get my hair straight.
When I first got out of the shower I plugged the iron in so it would
be super hot and hopefully work better. In hind sight I realize that
didn't make a hill of beans in difference since the Hanna has a
temperature control on it unlike the other flat irons I have and
not only heats up super fast it stays at the setting you pick so
if you have thinner hair you can set it lower and if you have
hair like mine you can pick a higher setting. That was such a cool
feature. Still though as thick as my hair is I normally have to
break in into sections and do a little at a time to see any
difference at all no matter how long I let my old irons heat
up. Now here in Hindsight I realize a just had a junk flat
iron for with the Hanna I didn't have to do that either. In
fact when I started and before I put my hair up I ran it
through the Iron a bit to try and get a ruff idea on how many
times I would have to go through the process on each piece and
Duh! I felt like such a fool for not researching irons before I
bought my last one for one time through left that piece perfectly
straight and my mouth hit the floor. After I duct tapped my mouth
shut I tried it again with another piece and again I was in
shock. I swear my Jaw broke the tape and hit the floor again.
This was the easiest thing I have ever done. Making my hair
straight and shiny and sleek with the Hanna Professional Flat Iron
was as simple as brushing my hair. It worked that well. It
worked even better then that well. I could not get over how
great my hair looked and how fast I got it to look that good.
Complete and utter shock and I was kicking myself that I
did not try it sooner. With in 25 minutes I had my entire head
of hair finished and the only reason it took that long was because
my hair is so long and so thick. Now that was without any
product to help it along, no hair drying and blow it out
straight to get a head start, no pulling it up and doing it
piece by piece to make sure I got small enough pieces so
the heat of the Iron would work well enough to make it
smooth. Whats the point of straight hair if it is not smooth
and shiny? This was fantastic and I am doing a happy Hana
dance for it just worked so well. The Hana Professional Flat Iron
took my wavy, frizzy, thick and dry hair that I can't do anything
with and made it Sleek and shiny and smooth and soft to the
touch in less time then it took me to take a shower and wash
my hair in the first place. My review for the Hana? You can
not go wrong with this Iron. If you like your hair sleek and
straight and shiny and healthy and perfect looking like you
just walked out of a high priced salon then this is a must
have.

Not a nice to have, or another good one or maybe
someday, it is a plain and simple must have! I am so in love
with it I took the other three irons I have and called my mother
and a couple of friends and asked if they wanted them for
after trying the Hana I will never ever go back to any of those.
In fact just having those on the shelf next to my Hana make
me think of a Royalty standing in the middle of a crowd of
Peasants.

Misikko only carries the best products out
there and doesn't even bother to keep the junk items in
their inventory. I have 3 flat irons and Misikko does not
even have one of the ones I have listed, no wonder why
they worked like crap. They carry everything you need to
achieve a professional look every time you style your hair
and you can shop at their store with confidence and even
if you are looking for an item you have never tried before
or this is your first time ever buying a hair care product
such as a curling iron, hair dryer or flat iron, you can
shop there with confidence for when you only deal with the
best like they do you never have to worry about an unhappy
customer. They stock Flat Irons with brands like Chi Flat Iron
and FHI Flat Iron and you guys know I think they have the
best Flat Irons. They also have loads of Curling Irons, l-
and tons of Hair Dryers and every type you could think
of from Ceramics Irons or Ionic Hair Dryers. Not only
do I love the Hair Straighteners I really want to try the
Hair Dryers and Curling Irons. They even have
Make-up, skin care, hair treatments and Model in a Bottle Products
and again, only bring you the best with brands like Paul Mitchel.
Murad, Chi and Body Silk. Everything you could ever need
to walk out of your house looking like a model every time.
The Hana Professional Flat Iron has a special deal going on
right now where you get a free heat mat so you don't have
to worry about leaving your hot iron on counter and a carrying
case. They always have something good going on and they
are also one of the most charitable places I have ever had
the pleasure of working with. Right now they have a benefit
for the relief in Haiti and with every item you purchase they
include a blank check for 25 dollars you can make out to
the charity of your choice. They are hoping to have as many
people as they can donate to the relief fund but you can
use it for another Charity if you hold one close to your heart.
After the review and the pleasure I had working with them and
how much I enjoyed their company in general they have a new
loyal customer in me. I love the fact I can trust their choices
and can't go wrong with any item I purchase from them and
I will be chanting the praises of the Hana Professional Flat Iron
for a long time to come for it just was the perfect product in
every way to me! My final review of Hana and Misikko is
a resounding two thumbs up, a happy dance, the biggest grin
you ever saw and a heart felt thank you for making me look
so awesome! I sincerely hope I get the chance to work with
them again!

You guys are going to love them too for they are going to
give one of my readers the very same Flat Iron! To enter just

Woobie Wear Review and Giveaway!

Now it isn't very often my Mother
calls and suggests I do a review of a
product. Her and I have very different tastes
and most of the time the answer would be
a big fat No and she knows it and doesn't
bother. Unless you guys email me with a special
request for an item I try to only do things I
am interested in for I like to write happy thoughts.
I would say a third of what I pick is my choice,
a third is yours and the other third is sponsors of
products I have never heard of before and you can't
say you don't like something you have never heard of
so I give them a try. So far I have been lucky there.
If it is not something that a person in this house would
use or buy or enjoy or has read about in the first place
I avoid it if I can for you guys most likely would
not enjoy a review if I wrote about Liver and Onions
or Bugs on a stick. Hey, if I can convince Andrew
to try it I am in, but other wise, NEXT! Believe it
or not I turn down more reviews then I write unless it
one of your requests then I do all that I can. Sometimes
it is just out of my hands. When my Mother called and said,
"Hey, can you try and review this company I heard about?
There are supposed to be great!" I felt my mouth go dry.
Hummmmm, her idea of great and mine are on two different
planes. No promises, but she is a reader after all and
I agreed to at least look at them. This was a place that
sold items for kids so how bad could it be? One thing
we both do have in common is we like to buy
items for Rowan that are adorable. She may have struggled
a little bit when Andrew was a baby ( Proof in point, the
Sailor Suit!) but with Rowan so far she has been
right on the money. So I went and gave them a look see!
Now if I was smart I never would have told you the
first part, I would have started the review with something
like, "Hey, you guys will not believe the adorable store
I found for little girls hair items and hats!" For now I
have to give my Mother the credit and I am supposed
to be the only one in the family with good taste!
Woobie Wear, yes my Mother found them but I
am taking the credit. I did all the work here, I spoke
with them, waited for the package, dressed Rowan and
after making her decide what one of the two hats she
wanted without touching them for I didn't want her to
ruin one with her baby drool. It is a good thing Rowan
has just learned how to shake her head yes or no and
hey, while on the subject I taught her that too! I also
took the picture, downloaded it, wrote the review and
with a heavy sigh put the other hat in the prize box.
You have no idea how hard it is to give up such
a precious item. So Neener, Neener Mom, I get the
credit! Woobie Wear still gets first billing though for one
look at their items and you will know why. How do you
take a delightful little girl and make her even more
Heavenly? Why Woobie her up of coarse! They have
a large selection of Hats and Headbands that make
every little princess look like a slice of Cake! Cheese
Cake in Rowans case for she was really hamming it
up with her Woobie hat! I wish I could have made her
sit still for her photo. Everything about Woobie wear
screams Girly and I got lost in the pages upon pages
of adorable Flowers and Styles. Alright Mom, you win,
when it comes to little girls you do have some taste!

Woobies came about as the Designers Sister
suddenly referred to her daughter and niece as her
little Woobie, the name hung around and lucky for
us, so did the Hats. Her collections are broken down
for you into seasonal category's and I think this was
the first time in my life I was looking forward to see
what came after fall! The Holiday collection is to die
for and the festive Holiday Colors and Bright Poinsettias
were enough to make me want to flip back the
calender a couple of months and go through the chaos
of Christmas all over again. Good thing for me her Spring
and Summer collections are just as spectacular and right
around the bend. Now you don't have to wait for those
events to purchase a Holiday Woobie, she has just made
it easy for you to navigate her fashions and see what
they have inside. I will take one of everything please!
I really feel sorry for my Mothers mail man for once she
sees the hats she was told about he is going to be
working overtime bringing them to her and that is fine
by me for Rowan is the only little Woobie wearer she
has.
Think your little girl has what it takes to be
a Woobie girl? Woobie Wear also has a model search
and always have an eager eye out for the next face of
Woobie! I plan to toss Rowans hat ( no pun intended,
well, Okay, you got me. Groan away!) when she is a
little bit older for a Woobie Girl needs to show the world
how darling Woobies are and right now little Miss Rowan
wants to eat hers more then wear it but that is only because
they look so Darn tasty! Woobie Models get to keep the
items they wear and that was about all it took for me!
Just look at these hats! Woobie Wear also has contests
on their site and has one going on right now so be sure
to flip through all the pages and not only do you get to
check out some adorable hats and head bands you might
get to sport a free one too! My final thoughts on Woobie
Wear is they are Woobielicious and I just adore their
products and you will see Rowan in a Woobie quiet often
on the site I am sure!
I also have an extra from Woobie Wear to share with
my readers though it breaks my heart to give it away! Sniff
sniff! To enter just head over to their site and take a look
around then come back here and post what your favorite
Woobie is in a comment. The contest will start tonight and
run to Midnight on March 30th.

Head Organic Hair Care Review!

Every once in a while I get a chance to do a
product review for an item I am really excited
about. Something that not only lives up to their
claims on the bottle or advertising but goes
above and beyond my expectations. A product
so good I would share it with you if they asked
for a review or not. A Product I will continue to
buy no matter how hard it is to find or difficult
it would be to get my hands on. Even if I had
to offer up Andrews Lawn Care services for the
next ten summers for free just for a lead on who
might have it in stock at the moment. If I have
to trade John and all his accessory's for a sample
I would do it!

Head Organics is one of those products!

Now you guys all know the huge laundry list
of issues I have with my hair. It is dry and damaged
and extremely hard to manage. It is thick and tangles
easy and fizzes at the mear mention of the word
Humidity. It has a natural wave that turns into
frizzy curls if I don't spend hours in the bathroom
smoothing it down with gallons of product that costs
and arm and a leg and a foot and an ear or more.
Pretty plain and simple, my hair is wreck and the best
I can hope for is to find something that makes the
curls and waves look like I sorta did it on purpose
and go with the flow for straight hair that is smooth
and sleek has pretty much been out of the program
for me! Then I got the chance to review Head Organics
and MOMMA I AM HOME!
I got in the shower and brought the 2 in 1 shampoo
and conditioner with me. The moment I put it on my
hand I knew this was something special. My first clue,
the thickness. I mean it, never before have I felt a
product so thick for it was almost solid. Take whatever
you would consider the thickest shampoo you have
ever tried and triple that then times ten and you might
be close to the consistency of their shampoo. What that
meant was I had to work it in to my hair and scalp and
instead of the 2 minute hair ritual I have grown used to
it took me a good 10 minutes just to work it in and then
get it out. You also know when you are doing it right
for it didn't lather until you had it rubbed in just the
perfect amount then all over a sudden like Ali Baba
and his lamp, presto chango, bam, Suds up the wazoo
and I could feel the tingle of the shampoo doing its dance.
Once out of the shower I used the leave in conditioner
and brushed it straight. I took a breather and went
and spent some time with the little cutie just to let
it dry a little before I whipped out the hair dryer for
my hair is so long and so thick if I blow dry the whole
thing I will be standing in the bathroom for the better
part of an hour. When I saw myself in the mirror I was
pretty darn shocked to say the least for my hair
was drying smooth and there were no tell tale signs
of the curls I always get. I decided to dry it as is and
see where it led me. A few hours later I was back
and OH-MY-GAWD you would not believe the perfect
results I had. Smooth and shiny and only a fraction
of the frizz I normally had. Really impressive and
even more so for when I don't use a hair dryer the
frizz goes from bad to Hello who filled the house
with Static electricity. I used some of the anti Frizz
serum and that little bit turned to No Frizz and I
was skipping all over the house singing like an
insane person telling everyone in the house, "Look
at my hair, look at my hair, I look better then you, I
look better then you!" and pretty much acting like
a fruit cake. In fact I felt so good about myself (
isn't it funny how good hair just makes you feel good
all over) that I went out last night and that is why
this was not posted then. I have not went out for well
over a year and I had a blast dancing the night away!
More then once a complete stranger told me I had
Beautiful Hair and more then once John had to stumble
around for a better complement just to keep pace. I
just felt glamorous and have not felt that way since
years before I had Rowan. Really, they made my decade
and I would hire a sky writer if John had not taken the
credit cards and hid them when I started babbling
about it! He knows I am just kooky enough to do it!
Speaking of John, he tried the Gel and for the
first time in almost as long as I have known him he
looked fashionable and good instead of sporting that
helmet head deal you get with a lot of firemen and police
men. That little more then a buzz cut garbage I hate to
death. Well his has grown out a little since his last
cut and was just starting to look better and with the
Gel it looked fantastic. I might even be seen in public
with him more often if he keeps using it! If you think
I am exaggerating about the before hair style just check
out his picture on the site, total helmet head those guys
are so found off. You can pretty much look at a guy with
a cut like that and know he is one of three things, a Cop,
a Fireman or in the service. You would think after John
retired he would have found some style! Now Andrew
would not try the Gel or Mouse for he is a Mans man and
at 16 is still to young to temp his image with using any
product that a real man might have issues with but he
also is nuts about his blond locks and a huge fan of
Crew's Styling wax and I got him to try Heads and again.
WOW, these guys are even better. His words were, "yo,
Mom, this stuff ain't as Gunky as the Crew Stuff. I can
even touch my hair after I put it on without a big yuck
moment." In English I think that means he really liked it
and I have to say when he had this on compared to
his normal wax I could tell a difference in the fact the
Crew makes his hair look darker for it coats his hair
and with the Head you could see his true color for it
is such a better product it let his hair shine through and
you know that means it can still breath. All around every
member of the Family had a great reaction to Head
Organics and they are so going to be in our shower
from now on. When you find something even the guys
rave about and Andrew hid the Wax in his room in case
I had to give it back, you just can't take it away from
them. Even if I could find something in that room! In
fact the only one who did not go on and on about how
great they are is Rowan and well, that is because she
doesn't have hair yet! Give her time she will be a fan too!

nuNAAT NaatCream Review and Giveaway

Alright you guys, before I tell you about this product
I need to make clear I have been very fortunate to try some
great beauty products as of late and my hair has reaped some
benefits so even though it is still very damaged it is not
nearly as bad as it was this time a month ago. I also need to
be clear that it is a long way from being healthy too! Like I
have explained to you guys a few times before it is my fault
my hair got this bad. Too many times died, too many perms, too
many products and heat and chemicals. Too much everything!
If I could only start over!

The products I need now to try and heal or should I
say Hydrate the Sahara will cost me a fortune or I could just
shave my head and start over. Yuck to both of those options!
I swear I knew all the items out there that could have any type of
benefit for my straw. I have ran the usual gamut many times
with my daily Panteen and then Jim Freda, Bedhead, Nexus
and others. I even went through a period where I used shampoo
for horses. Really, it was called Mane and Tail and supposed to
be great for really dry hair but the one thing all of those items had
in common was they only offered a temporary fix and the minute
a curling iron, hair dryer or anything else hit my head, game over!
I would follow the directions to a T then condition always
using more then needed stupidly thinking if a dollop of
15 dollar conditioner would help my hair a bunch of dollops
would be the bomb! That was money down the drain, literally.
After that I would use the leave in conditioner, then the
hair serum and thought I had it licked and I was certain this time
I had silky soft hair then I would walk out into
the spectacular sunny day and BAM, poodle city! I even went
as far as to rotate my shampoos for I read somewhere when
your hair gets used to one product you need to switch to
get better results. I wish I could say I was young and naive
but this wasn't that long ago and I am far from young. So My
only solution was to collect two sets of hair care products.
One for every day where I still used all of the items above
but products that were more reasonably priced for with hair
as long as mine was and the amount of shampoo I used there
was no way I could afford Nexus on the daily basis. Then I had
my good stuff for special events. Now I would like to tell you my
special event shampoo rocked and fixed all my problems
but nawwwww, it just kept my out of control hair a
little more controlled but not nearly what I would call
healthy. Still I clung to hope there would be a shampoo
revaluation and my problems would be solved!

Like I told you at the start my hair has been a little
spoiled lately with a few reviews I have done but as much
as I loved the products they are out of my daily price range.
I need something that works and I can afford. Why do I always
feel like I am asking too much? Or I should say did feel that way!
I just reviewed nuNAAT products and WOW.
I need a minute here.......................
WOW!
I really am in shock here. Let me start of with asking you
guys if have ever heard of them before? I hadn't. I can't
believe I hadn't. The item I reviewed was called NaatCream
Intensive Care Conditioning Cream. It comes in a 17.60 oz
jar and claimed that it is for Dry Hair with Split ends and is
Hydrating. Now I can live up to my part of the bargain and have
the Dry, Damaged hair with Split Ends that needs Hydrating
so I was curious to see if they could live up to thier end of
the bargain. I was also determined not to give them any
breaks and instead of using my normal shampoo I grabbed
my sons VO5 for that is just about as good as taking a bar
of soap to my hair for the softness factor. Now the product is
a deep conditioner so it needs to sit so I washed my hair and
then applied as directed and let it sit while I finished all my
other business. Then I rinsed and held my breath. Why I
did that is for any time I use something on my hair that
is not good at all I can tell the minute I try to run a brush
through it. My hair tangles super easy and I can tell instantly
if the conditioner I used did any good at all for if it doesn't work
I am faced with the daunting task of getting all the knots out
of my hair and Ouch, owwie, Ohh, Ouch, it is not pleasant.
The brush sailed right through.

I was not ready to do a happy dance. Years of bad hair and
skepticism have made my forget the dance moves. Now
I said no breaks and I meant it so I did not use the leave in,
nor any mouse or any other product at all. I also decided to
let it air dry for when I do I loose about 3 inches from shrinkage
because of the curl in my hair. I hate that curl! I took a break and
went and hung out with the Monster who was just up from a nap.
Now I wasn't going to be so mean as to not run a brush through
my hair a few times as it dried for my hair takes about 2 hours
to dry and if I don't brush it a couple of times I get the crazy
kinks and puffs all over and I didn't see the brushing as cutting
the Naat Cream any breaks for it is more like training my
hair to stop doing that. ( 40 years of training and it still
hasn't learned though) I didn't plan on it but I got so caught
up with Rowan I plum forgot. About 3 hours later I remembered
and ran to the bathroom for I was afraid I would have to
start over.

This is where I was stunned.
My hair was smooth and though had a little wave the
curls were not there. I didn't know if I should laugh or
cry. I was so happy with the natural, no straightening
needed results but I was also afraid to touch it. I used
a hair Glaze from another place once that left my hair
looking like that but it was also so heavy and weighted
down and just plain nasty I had to run, not walk, back
to the shower and wash it out. It was gross! I was afraid
I would need my running shoes again for no way
could my hair look this smooth and soft without some
sort of oily residue.I cringed, reached up and almost
fainted. This stuff rocked. Soft, shiny hair. Smooth and
did not feel dry at all. Perfect, that was what I wanted.
I can not tell you how impressed I was for even the
other reviews I did lately I used the shampoo and
conditioner and a deep conditioner to get the same
results I just got here with just a conditioner. I started laughing
like some crazy mad man and made poor Rowan cry
for she thought her Mom lost her mind. All I needed was
one last thing to finish the review. I told you I had never
heard of nuNAAT before so I did not know how much it
cost. I was looking at my hair and thinking a lot. This
would be another one for my Saturday Shelf for those
rare dress up moments. I went to the computer and
pulled up Google Shopping ( I love that!) and would
you believe this ( a Deep conditioners that always cost
more then the regular) was under 6 dollars! Did
a Jig here I suddenly remembered the old dance moves and
on a whim checked the price of the Shampoo and
regular Conditioner. SAME! I can afford this! I can afford
this every day! I can have soft, silky, shiny, straight hair
every day. EVERY DAY!

My Review of nuNAAT, well let's just say they are my
new best friends! I am over the moon impressed doing a jig
and cuddling my wallet like a love struck teenager thinking
of all the money I can save and still look good! I am so happy
with the results I might have to go and buy some matching shoes
for the outfit I need to buy to celebrate! Then I am going to
go out to the corner Pub I have not stepped foot into in years
and toss my hair around!
nuNAAT says you can try some of their goodness too

Cover Your Hair Review and Giveaway

You guys know I have long hair and though it is no
longer past my waist it is still longer then mid-back and
very long by any standards. You guys also know I worked
in Restaurant management for 17 years and no matter
where you live long hair has to be covered and put up.
It was fun when I was younger for I loved trying new "do's"
and got really into it and if I was in a rush I could just toss
it in a pony tail but then when I got older and my Career
advanced and I went from casual dinning to more upscale
places I needed it to look classy not cute and add some
style. I could also no longer get by with a simple pony tail.
Since Diva is in my blood and I thought my hair was a fashion
statement I would never dream of cutting it and working 70
hours a week and being a single Mom at the time I just didn't have
time for the saloon to have them give me an Up-Do when ever
I needed a new look. I grew dependent on hair accessories and
not long after that my dependency grew into an obsession.
I am no longer working but I still have my collection and still
pick up items that look like they have my name written all over
it when I see it!

I have Banana Clips and Scrunchies dating back
to the eighties and silk scarves and leather headbands and
handmade clips and berets and even nets and pins from
the last few years or so. One time I went into a store and
they had a huge selection of their hair items on clearance
for 90 percent off and I bought 80 dollars worth and sent
John back to buy everything I had missed a few hours later.
Right outside of my bathroom I have a huge basket filled with
items and two boxes under the sink and that is only the items
I use on a regular basis. I have even more in a large tub in
my closet. I think this makes me an expert in hair accessories
and swear on all that is good and hairy I have seen it all!
I may not own it all, but I have seen it and the only reason
I don't have it is, have you priced a Barrett now a days?
Just a simple metal barrette can cost you 5 bucks, add
some pizazz or style and you are draining your bank account
or drying up your rainy day stash. Depressing! So when I find
a place that has style, selection, unique products at an
affordable price I jump on it like Garfield on Lasagna!

I found a store called "Cover Your Hair" that has
all of that, and even a larger selection than I had ever
dreamed off and all at affordable prices! The have it all
from clips, to Barrett's, pony holders, headbands, nets, scarves,
bandannas, clips, ethnic, ( breathe breathe, gotta catch my breath)
and even hats and shawls and Bandannas. If it goes on your
head they have it. What's even better is the price! I could not
find anything over 20 bucks and that was the hats. For hair
accessories I could not find a thing over 12 dollars. Truly
remarkable. The had a whole section devoted to items
under $5.00 and some of the pieces are exceptional! I fell
in love with a beautiful black velvet headband with silver stones
that could be won dressed up or dressed down. Either way
it will be the first thing people notice when they see you.
They have over 10 pages of sale items alone and sets that
offer several items in a particular color or theme that
are perfect for times when you have a stunning outfit and
are not sure how to do your hair. With a selection at your
finger tips you can pick and choose what tickles your fancy
or change it up at the last minute so your husband can
wait a little bit longer by the front door wearing a grimace and
glaring at his watch!

I was sent a Tichels also known as Mitpachat that is
made from cotton and 36 square inches. It is lite weight, with
no fringe and cotton. A perfect way to take care of my hair
when working around the house or working in the garden. I
was also send a plaid headband with a flower on it that is
super cute and would look just as great with a dress as it
would with jeans and a t-shirt. Both products are superbly
made and light weight so they do not weigh you down and
are excellent quality. There is no places that protrude so
that it would end up snagging your hair or tangling so you
have to struggle to remove them and unlike some of the
other headbands I have used this one fits and give just
enough where it is comfortable and not squishing my
head. You have no idea how I hate that! I could get lost
for hours on the styles and it doesn't matter what you
are wearing they have something to match! Cover your hair
is truly a place for all your needs and have more specials
and deals then any store I have ever seen. Right now
if you spend $100.00 you get a free gift and that is on
top of the free headband with any order and THAT is
on top of their already low prices! Whatever it is you
are looking for, Cover Your Hair has you Covered!

Even better they have my readers covered for they
are gifting one reader with a Box filled with surprises
for your hair and valued at $25.00. To enter just go on
over to their site and look around then come back here
and post what you have learned. The contest starts today,
December 30th and will run to February 3rd at Midnight.

Split Ender Review

I have long hair right now. In fact I have had long hair
since I was old enough to tell my Grandmother No, when
she said let's go get your haircut. Before I was old enough to
make up my own mind on my hair my Grandmother would take
me to Georgette the Butcher every summer the first day
she had me out of my mothers site and at our summer
cottage. Do you know how hard it is to face your friends
when you have a Dorthy Hamel Cut that is a few inches
short so it can last a little long then to add insult to
injury she was a perm fanatic and would throw that into
the mix. Think this

But shorter and worse! Once I was old enough to say no
I swore I would never cut my hair again and didn't other
then trims here and there until I was pregnant with my son at 24.
That time Andy's Dad thought it would be funny to shave his head
and called me to tell me. After I climbed through the phone
lines to strangle him I though I would teach him a lesson and
put my Waist length hair and put it in a pony tail on the top of
my head and snipped it off. ( don't mess with hormones) After
I got stable again I cried and regretted my decision and grew
it long again. My Grandmother almost went off her rocker
because of this and the only gift I received for Holidays and
Birthdays from her in all that time was hair items and
a gift certificate to her saloon and every time I saw her the
first thing she would do would be to hand me a hairbrush.
I once again stuck to trims and it got to my waist and
I found out I was pregnant with Rowan. I did cut it for that
but not like with my son, only about 8 inches. I love my hair
long and will most likely have long hair all my life but I need
to make clear there are problems with long hair. Those
problems have a name and its name is split ends! Even with
regular trims you end up with them and the longer your hair
is the more you get. Add in the fact my hair is super thick
and super dry and then try not to laugh if you see me on
a hot and humid day. The combination of long dry hair and
humidity make me resemble the bride of Frankenstein.

There is not a hair product in the world that can fix this. It was
a trade off I made, super long hair equals split ends. Plain and
simple.

Then I found the split ender. Wow, Bye Bye Split ends. The great
thing about this product is every ones hair ends at different parts
through out your head. Even a straight cut ends up uneven at
times and when ends split it becomes even more choppy. The
Split Ender takes care of those ends no matter where they
are without you having to run to the saloon every week for a trim.
You can do this at home anytime you want and when you keep
a tight reign on your split ends it keeps you hair smoother
and softer and silkier and no more frizzy fly aways. It is
super simple to use and it is almost as big a no- brainer as
brushing your hair. In fact that is what you do, place your hair
between the clips like a curling iron or flat iron and ZIP
bye bye to the frizz! Perfect every time.

It is perfect for those times you got you hair just
so and notice a spot with frizzy ends you just can't stand for
they ruin the effect. 30 seconds later and you are perfect all
over without risking cutting to much like you would scissors for
it only takes the tips. Even my son could do this and I wish I
had this when he was 8 and decided to cut his own bangs for
if he is going to use something on his hair he isn't supposed to
touch I would rather it be something that can't leave him looking
like he just got off the boat! I love how this makes my hair
look and if I had this when I chopped it all off I would still have
that same head of hair for even hormones wouldn't be enough
to allow me to chop off perfectly smooth luxurious hair!

Even better, if you hair is dry like mine and mine is so dry
it feels like horse hair some days, the split ender comes
with a bottle of Silk! Now this stuff made me want to climb
up to my roof and scream its praises! I use frizz ease and other
products like that to keep my hair smooth and glossy for
without it I look like heck. Now I like the look those products
give me but to touch it, Ewwwe! Greasy and gross. I have yet
to find a product that works until now. These are little tablets
you crack open and work into your hair when damp. Then you can
either blow dry or let air dry and what you are left with is
smooth, shinny, glossy, healthy looking hair that you can
touch and not be able to butter a pan with you hand when you
are done. I could not feel this in my hair at all. You look at me
before and after and know I did something, you touch and you
will wonder what. An added perk to this product is it makes
my hair so soft and manageable I can do all those cool, sleek
styles I never could before. When I was younger I would spend
hours trying, when I got older I would just go with the waves
because I will be darned if I spend 4 hours in the bathroom
working on my "do" then walk out in August heat for it to
insta frizz! I can't wait to I go somewhere I can show off
some styles!

This combo gets a huge two thumbs up and a
snip snip from me and you can learn more or even order
one from the button on my site. That's right, I posted
a button for I love this stuff ( the silk) that much and with
the split ender am super impressed with how it works and
the fact it is going to save me a small fortune in saloon costs!
No more Bride of Frankenstein for me!

Pureology Hair Care

PUREOLOGY

I used to have silky soft, poker straight, long
blond hair as a child. My Grandparents were as
frugal as they come and the only thing I ever used on
my hair was whatever shampoo was the cheapest at
Farmer Jack that Month. It didn't really matter for it
did the trick and the only thing I ever had to worry about
was tangles for with kids and long hair they are bound to
happen. Somewhere in my life I went wrong. My soft, shiny,
smooth beautiful hair turned to dry, coarse, brittle, fly
away hair that if there is the least bit of humidity in the
air looks like Einstein and I share the same stylist. The
worst part of this whole deal is I think I did it to myself.
I was an 80's child and Died my hair every other week, permed
whenever I was bored, and on a daily basis I Blew dry, curled,
used moose, gel and enough Aqua Net to put my own personal
hole in the Ozone layer. The straw I call hair is what I am
left with!

I really didn't think anything would ever be able
to fix the damage I have done to my hair. I had even gave
up daily blow drying and seldom curl any more. In fact
I treat my hair as if it were Gold now for I feel so bad that I
did so much damage when I was younger. I know that the
hair I had then is long gone and it shouldn't matter but the
point is no matter what science says since I did all that to
my hair 25 years ago it has not been the same. Since
then I have only colored my hair and the only products I use are
items that are supposed to repair damage but I have yet
to have any luck. A week or so ago I got the chance to review
the Pureology line of hair products and as always anything to
do with hair I jumped on for I would give my left arm to have the
hair back I had as a child.

From the web site I learned:

COMPREHENSIVE COLOUR CARE SYSTEMS FOR
ALL TYPES OF HAIR

NATURE-INFUSED FORMULAS
FOR PURE PERFORMANCE

CONCENTRATED FORMULAS
FOR PURE INDULGENCE

CREATED WITH INTEGRITY

The package I received contained 2 shampoos, the Hydrate
and the Super smooth and also the Super Smooth conditioner and
last of all the Hydrate Hair mask. On day one I decided to try the
Super Smooth products. I felt since the shampoo and conditioner
where from the same branch of the Pureology line I should keep
them together for the best results. The first thing I noticed was the
consistency is different. It looked and felt different. In appearance
it looked much thicker but to feel it you really couldn't tell a difference
only that the texture was different, not necessarily thicker. I don't
think it sudded up as much as the last few shampoos I have used
did but I could feel it seeping into my hair and directly onto my
scalp and that was new for my hair is so thick I really have to
scrub to get too my scalp and with this I didn't. I also had to rinse
longer to get it out for it clung to my hair. I don't mean it left
a residue for it didn't but more like it belonged on my hair
and didn't want to leave. Next came the conditioner and it
too felt thicker and this one even looked much creamier. My
hair drank it in and I know you have heard that phrase before
for I have but I never knew what it meant to now. I swear if I
measured how much I applied and say it was 1/4 cup I put on
my hair I can promise you what I rinsed out was only half of that
and there was no product left in my hair for it was absorbed.
I did the full Monty with this stuff and dried my hair to see
if this was as good as it was supposed to be and could tame
my hair when heat was involved and it did. It really did! I was
shocked for I was left with smooth, manageable hair that felt
soft and not dry or greasy like it feels when I use frizz serum to
take care of the dryness. It may not have been as perfect as
my childhood dream hair but it was such a drastic change that
I felt given enough time I might come close to what I had oh,
so long ago! I was more then impressed!
The next day I used the Hydrate and the hair
masque. I can't say I could tell the difference from this Shampoo
to the next but then again it is the same line and the differences
from this shampoo to the other are probably very subtle. If you
lined these up to other shampoos though I would know the difference
in a heartbeat. Now the Masque was very different and very thick
and so thick in fact they give you a pick to help sort through your
hair. I had some problems making sure it went through my hair
due to how long and thick it was but I did manage to get it through
and was thankful for the pick. This needed to be left on for up
to five minutes and I left it on the full five and I also noticed this
was harder to remove from my hair and if I did not rinse well
enough it would leave a residue. I had to be very careful to make
sure I got it all out. I also blew dried my hair with these two
and I will say the extra effort to apply and remove the masque was
worth it when you feel and see the results. My hair is silky and
feels healthy and is not only smooth but you can almost feel the
moisture in your hair. It also left my hair feeling thick and
fresh like it feels right after a hair cut. I really loved how
my hair felt and looked but this would be a ritual I would only
use on special events for it was a lot of effort and a busy
Mom just doesn't have the time to do this on a daily basis.

My final thoughts on the Pureology line are it is pricey but
worth the price and delivers on its promises. A green haircare
line that is Natural makes it an even better buy but as a
normal person who does not have a lot of cash to throw around
I would buy this and keep it for special occasions. Not necessarily
a coveted night out with your Love but maybe date night, even if
it is spend at home with a rented movie and some popcorn. I
would not want to pay the price to buy this more then once a
month but I would also not want to live with out it. As most hair
products go with my hair I tend to use 3 times as much as the
normal person and a bottle of shampoo averages about 6 uses
for me so this would be something I would use once a week or so
even less often with the Masque. I would be more then willing
to give up a weekly cup of Starbucks to fit this into my
Budget for it truly is that good!
Five ***** for me!
