Two thumbs up~Two thumbs down
Complaint of the week:
Kroger's!!
I was a loyal Farmer Jack Shopper for many many many, did I say many years? I just loved the place and
I really don't know why. The prices were the same as everywhere else and I know many stores that
had better deal. Shoppers Center in fact has double coupons up to 1.00 and some really good sale prices but
even knowing there are cheaper places out there I stuck to Farmer Jacks. Maybe it was because it is where
I used to shop with my Grandparents that I go there for old times sake. Nostalgia!
Well, when they closed I was lost and after trying on many stores I ended up at Kroger's. The prices were eh
and the selection was always limited but everything there was consistent and they had a pretty good produce
section and fresh prepared foods and I liked that. Everything was also pretty steady price wise and it made it easy
for me to budget out my shopping.
A few years ago I did have, or I should say my friend did, a little bit of an issue there they handled poorly
but with a phone call they fixed it so it ended up being all good. Was not a huge thing ( for me anyway) but when
we went there my friend can't walk and needs a scooter and they had 4 of them but every single one was broken
down. We went to the courtesy desk to inform them for we thought it was an over site and we were greeted with a
"Eh, we know. They always are." Needless to say my friend was really upset and I was kinda shocked at the fact
they really didn't care.
The last issue pushed me over the edge though. I shop in bulk and only every few weeks so I don't have to
live at the grocery store. I grabbed all my produce and I know Granny would be dismayed, but I didn't check
it much for I had never had a problem and I had never gotten anything but fresh from them before. When I went
to use some of the items the next day I was shocked to see all the onions were rotted and when I saw that I went
and checked other items. The Grapes, the lettuce and the Potato's were all rotten or well on their way. YUCK!
I sent them an email to let them know for I didn't save the receipt ( I will now) and was pretty upset since it
was around 30 bucks worth of produce. I didn't hear from them for about a week then I got an email back
asking for more information like the location and other stuff. Another week passed and I got a phone call.
It was a Kroger's clear on the other side of the county to tell me sorry. I told them it was not their store and
not their fault and he told me he would let them know. I thanked him and expected a phone call from the right store
since they now had the information 3 times now.
A week went by, then another and another. Now I am kinda ticked and sent them another email. It has been
two weeks since I sent that. I am floored at how ill their customer service is. I have given them the information
4 times now and was very ( at least I think) patient waiting for a response. Now I am not just inconvenienced I am
angry. The weekend I went shopping at another store and since I am still hopping mad I sent Kroger an email
letting them know I just spent 500 bucks at another store and plan on going there from now on since its plain
to see they don't really care about their customers. I will let you know if I get a reply but I wouldn't hold my
breath.
Complement of the week:
I bought a bottle of Free-breeze a few weeks ago and the spray trigger leaked and it was just
a pain in the butt. I fired up my trusty email complaint form and sent one off to them. 3 day, Yes, I said 3 days,
later I got a letter from them letting me know how sorry they were and coupons for not only one but 5 replacement
bottles of their product. I was floored here too but this time and how great their customer service is.
Now these people have a life long buyer!!

I have to agree with you about Kroger customer service. It is bad. I too am sorry that Farmer Jack is gone. I had an issue with the local Kroger (Taylor, Michigan) including a complaint against a manager. I received no response from Kroger. They just don't care about their customers. Although I can't say I'll never shop there (I wish I could) I will definitely limit my visits and get more things at Meijer even though Kroger is more convenient.
