Good Karma Contest
Good Karma Contest
Tis' the season of good cheer, good friends and good deeds.
To honor this fact and OK I will admit I am a little hooked on
this hosting contests deal, I am giving away a $25.00 Gift
Certificate to Amazon.com. Times are super tight right now
and everyone needs help with one thing or another. It's not
like the holidays are not stressful enough to begin with before
adding the ailing economy into the mix. I try to do my
part by sending food to people who need it, making goody
platters for my elderly neighbors and recycling items I no longer
need or can't use to free cycle or just plain old anyone I
know who needs a little boost. The best things I have done
in the last year or so is to gift a large prize I won ( five
cricket cell phones for children and 300 minutes for each
phone ) to a family I know who had 3 children and a couple
of Nephews they helped raise. The Nephews and the oldest child
were already teenagers and you know how every teenager wants
a cell phone super bad but there was just no way the parents
could ever afford to get them all one. As often as I can I try
to help these guys for they are just awesome people and work so
hard trying to get ahead but with that many mouths it just ain't easy.
To Enter is simple, just do any of the below entry methods.
Each one in a separate post and each post counts for a one
entry. There is no mandatory entry and you can do one or as many
as you like in any order you like. The winner will be drawn on
December 6th and have 72 hours to respond to the winning
email I send them. Make sure you have your email in either
your profile or in one of your entries. Your prize will be awarded
in the form of an on line gift code that will be emailed to you
the day I get your response from the winning email. The
contest runs from 11/12/2009 to Midnight on December 5th.
Here are the ways you can enter.
1. Tell me about some good Karma you received.
2. Tell me about a good deed you have done.
3. Become a follower of my blog.
4. Enter my YoBaby 3 in one meals contest.
5. Enter my Onlinesweepstakes.com Contest.
6. Make a pledge do so something nice for
a complete stranger tomorrow. It can be some-
thing as simple as opening the door for the
person behind you or letting the one with
only two items go before you at the grocery
store.
~Good luck and I wish you all good Karma~

I am helping a client promote a widget on my blog for 'November is Diabetic Eye Disease Awareness Month' (The widget can be found here:http://ascendingbutterfly.blogspot.com/2009/11/saturday-november-14-2009-todays-words.html)Please press on it at least once to help support the cause. More than 24 million people in the United States have diabetes and less than half are not getting a recommended dilated eye exam. Among the Hispanic/Latino America population, 2.5 million (9.5%) have diabetes. Furthermore, nearly half of all adult Hispanic/Latino individuals in the United States with diabetes have some type of diabetic retinopathy. These are some frightening statistics! These are some scary stats and I have friends who are diabetics. This was not a paid post/insertion. Just doing for other diabetics what I wish someone had done for my friends, provide them with important information. I make it a point to do a mitzvah daily and as a result I always end up receiving one too. Someone will hold a door for me, carry a heavy bag, and I do so love hearing a heartfelt 'God Bless You!' when I sneeze. I am following your blog! :)

A good deed I have done - found someone left their ATM card in the machine and turned it into the bank manager.
November 16, 2009 at 9:43 AM
I don't like to talk about any good deeds I might have done, so I'll talk about "good Karma" I've received.
We moved to our tiny rural town a few months before Christmas three years ago. We'd always had a live tree but didn't know where to get one here.
We went to the "city building" to ask the ladies who worked there if they could point us to a place that sold trees. One lady picked up the phone and called a couple of markets in the county but no one had trees or knew anyone who did.
She thought a second and told us to meet her at her house - she bought a new artificial tree and wanted us to have her old one.
We tried to say no but she wouldn't take no for an answer, nor would she take anything for it. So we went and took her old tree...and it was in perfect shape. We still use that tree and are warmed by the kindness that an almost stranger showed us that Christmas season.

My uncle sold almost everything he had and moved to our city planning on living in his camper in a trailer park for a while until he got a job and could buy a house. I convinced him to stay at our house until he gets settled in at a trailer park. I also drove him around so he'd get to know the area. I've invited him over several times for dinner and to watch football since then so he wouldn't get cabin fever hanging out in the camper all of the time.

I received Good Karma from the two cats that we have been taking care of. We found a litter of kittens in our yard last winter, got the spayed/neutered and kept two of them. We lost our beloved dog shortly after we found them and that was incredibly hard, but I have to say that every day these two cats give me joy. Thank you!

I received good Karma when I was walking home with three tote bags full of groceries and a nice woman picked me up and saved me the 2 mile hike. A week later I was walking back to the store and she saw me, picked me up again. She was in a panic because she had left her grocery cart full of groceries in the parking lot. I recently had an experience I chalk up to good karma: I found a wallet with over a hundred dollars (but no ID!) at my building at school, and instead of giving into the temptation of keeping the money, I decided to turn it in to the lost and found instead...and the very next day I won an online sweepstakes for a $50 gift card to my favorite restaurant!
Great contest - thanks!

I did a good deed this morning -- a friend's car wouldn't start, so I drove to his house with my jumper cables to help him out. I know he'd do the same for me, so it was a no-brainer -- if only everyone followed the rule of reciprocity, the world would be a more harmonious place!

I'll make a pledge to buy coffee for the next person in line at the Starbucks when I get my morning cup of joe -- I have heard of others doing that and have always thought it was such a simple, nice gesture. Thanks for inspiring me!

I received some good Karma by giving a man an umbrella. But I probably canceled it out by talking about it right now to win.

I traded some gift cards that I couldn't use to someone that could. I was then able to start my Christmas shopping for my girls.
Thank you!

I did several hours of volunteer work one day, only to come home and find out that one of my daughter's teachers had gone out of her way to help my daughter get accepted into an honorary program! What goes around comes around.

My daughter needs volunteer hours for school, so I spent 3 hours today with her bagging sweet potatoes at the Food Bank with her. If I NEVER see another sweet potato in my life, it will be too soon! But it was so nice to see how good my daughter felt about herself for doing the volunteer work.

Here is some good Karma that I received: When I was moving, I had attached my mattress to the top of my car. The mattress fell off onto the road. Some nice guy stopped and helped me get it back on my car ~ attached better too!!

I don't know what we did to deserve it, other than we've always tried to be an honest person, but a couple of times when we've been really short on money, we've been walking along and found $20 or more just lying on the pavement with no one else around. That was great karma to receive.

My good deed is I ordered a new TV for my parents because my father has been watching a pink picture for months. He had a stroke and really enjoys his television but it was awful seeing what he had to watch.
