My Precious Child Review and Giveaway

You have your cupboard locks, toilet locks and gates at the
top of the stairs. You strap Baby into a car seat and use
the safety belt on the highchair and stroller. You even carry
sanitizer in your pocket to kill those on the go germs. You
have thought of everything and your entire house is just about
wrapped in bubble wrap and Jr lives in a Bubble. You have
everything covered and are just waiting for your parent of
the year award. That is how I felt when my son was born.
There was not a thing in the world I had not prepared for
and even got rid of a dog we had at the time for she proved
to be aggressive toward children. I know a lot of you are going
awe right now but before you hang me I do have to let you know
we only had her a few days ( a rescue) before she lunged at
a friend of mines child and since I was pregnant I had to re home
her and she found a good one with a little old man who loved
her to pieces. I don't know if I could do that with Boo for
I have had her almost 5 years and she is a Baby too. Any
who, I thought all my bases were covered. There was not a thing
I had forgot.

Then when Andrew was around 14 months I had
let my Grandmother watch him while I worked one day, this
was also the last day she watched him alone and my mother had
to be there every time after this for me to agree. I know how much
my Grandmother loved my son and my son and I loved her but
there comes a time in your life when you just can't keep
up with little ones. ( Um, sometimes I think that is today for me!)
This near miss could have ended a lot different. My Grandfather
had heart problems and suffered many heart attacks and a heart
surgery and had a Baskin Robins selection in medicine bottles
that he had to take every day. He passed when I was 18 but
my Grandmother never truly removed him from the house
and though she gave away some of his things most of it
was still there for he was the love of her life and she could
not part with it. That day she had just got done reading
to Andrew and went to make him lunch. He was toddling
around and found his way into the towel closet in the hallway.
At the bottom of that closet was boxes of old Avon Bottles she
had collected and some how a pill bottle from the collection
my Grandfather had taken got lost there. When she found Andrew
he had most of the bottle gone and other then a few scattered
down the front of him and even more were dissolving in his
mouth as she helplessly watched. She cleaned out his mouth
and tried to make him throw up and sat rocking him and crying
on the couch when I walked in an hour later. She was so panicked
she never even called 911. When I asked what was going on
for she was hysterical and Andrew was smiling she started
telling me the whole thing, when she got to the word medication
I noticed the bottle on the table next to her and went pale
as I grabbed the bottle. As I was frantically reading the label
I asked what the Hospital said and she told me she has not
spoken to anyone because she was waiting for me because
I would know what to do. I ran to the phone still reading the
bottle and called Poison Control who's number was posted
right there. I told you I thought I had everything covered right
down to the emergency list. The first thing Poison control
asked was what was the drug. I screamed Nitroglycerin and
heard a sigh at the other end.
"How long ago did this happen?"
I screamed for the answer to my Grandmother and then yelled in
the phone, " about an hour ago!"
"Relax and Breath. Tell me the expiration date on the
bottle!"
I looked as fast as I could wondering how this lady could
be so calm. "1988"
Another sigh. "Your child will be fine. Nitro Glycerin has
a shelf life of 6 months after the bottle is opened and
not all that much longer if unopened. If it had still be active
your child would have shown signs in seconds."
The bottle Andrew had eaten has expired over 5 years ago
and was as dangerous as eating sanitized dirt. I felt better
then but later that night I realized though I was prepared to
help keep him safe I was in no way near prepared for what
to do if anything should happen to him. That was a hard lesson
to learn and I quickly became prepared for anything, well
almost but that's another story.

When I found out I was pregnant with Rowan I knew
I was not going to make that mistake again and was even
more concern for this time I took the medication that could
hurt her and if she ever got into the medication I took for my
back, or my lately my neck and head after my fall a few months
ago she would not be as lucky since this would not be useless
expired medication but medication that would do serious damage
and fast in her little body. I have everything for every situation
now for I will never let me guard down again. The first thing
everyone needs to get is a medical kit. Searching for one
I found a site called My Precious Child and they took the
words right out of my mouth and also put everything I needed
all in one place and made safety proofing a snap and also have
everything you need if the safety proofing doesn't work.

For safety proofing they have everything from Alarms, to
locks to gates and even foam trim for corners and Kits to
help you get all of what you need in one shot. Also for
prevention they have Harnesses and seat belt straps and
signs for allergy's. The have a full line of items for special
needs children and even a sleep positioner for Baby's and
Special needs children. They also have everything you
could want in case something does ever happen. ( knock
on wood) and I am also talking about something as simple as
a scrapped knee or Bee sting or Sunburn and even worse.
The Boy Scouts were right about with their mantra "Be Prepared."
Words to live by and My Precious Child will help you with
that mission with complete medical kits like the one
I was sent for review. This has everything for a little
cut to an I just might pass out help me please boo boo. All
the way down to a sticker for those good little troopers to
help dry up boo boo induced tears. They also have
Name Tags and Temporary Tattoos for being in crowds
with your child and everything else you could ever
want to bail you out of any situation. The Boy Scouts
will have nothing on you once you pay a visit to My Precious
Child.

To get you started on your plan to all around
safety, My Precious Child is going to give 5 of my Readers
